I switched the outsoles on my boots to black vibram wedge christy outsoles… they are lighter and quieter… sneaker like feeling… glad I did it!

If you want to keep the heeled look, then maybe go for something like the Vibram Vi-lite or Gumlite soles? I own a pair of Tricker's Bourton shoes with the Vi-lite soles and a pair of Trickers Brad boots gum-lite soles. Those soles are very bouncy and light (the Vi-lite is the lightest ofc), and I can recommend their comfort!

I personally wouldn’t do it but whatever floats your boat. The Vibram Christy is very stiff and will bow the toes up on the boots after long term use. The 2021 moreflex soles are more flexible but wear very quickly. There is also the 9105 gloxi cut which is supposed to be a hybrid but I’m not a fan of it’s looks. It has a taller more blocky appearance

I'm a huge van of wedge soles, but I do feel they look off on Engineer Boots. So many great half a full sole options out there that are comfortable and grip well. But if you like the look of a wedge on engineers, go for it!

If comfort is a priority, vibram; otherwise, I like the original especially the logger scooped heels.
Rubber looks worn and dirty after a short time, but leather looks good aged.
    Your choice ultimately!
