Good stuff! I’d also suggest stacking simply miles + AA eshopping for some huge chunks of miles & LP’s. Can be just as good or better than the earning from AA hotels.
Great video! It was such a pleasure to meet both of you in Toronto! ❤ Please make another video about Hyatt globalist status since Ben is the Hyatt expert😊
thank you! glad you enjoyed! if you know any friends who are looking to get AA status as well, I'd appreciate it if you could let them know about this episode too!
Not clear about the 15x or 30x on hotels in 3rd world countries. I am gold, i got that part, but do I also need to pay the hotel with AA co branded card or can i pay with my blue bank card for ex? And are those loyalty point or just base miles for award redemption?
you don't need to pay with the AA branded card, but you do need to have the AA branded card linked to your account to unlock the extra bonus points to get to 30x. But you can pay for the actual hotel using whichever card you want. My understanding is it counts for LP. I have an AA hotels stay coming up for Thanksgiving. Will report back to how it posts.
I got an email today from AA to lock in Platium status and the cost was $1,729 OR 178K miles. This is absurd! How can i get this Instant Status Pass you are mentioning ( on min15:45) that cost $200?
Oof, that's steep. The instant status pass promo has ended, but here's an episode we did with the CEO of statusmatch.com. That site might help with being able to renew your status: ruclips.net/video/bt5QNpof0sg/видео.html
@@geobreezetravel I appreciate that, hopefully I can get to renew my status. Already very upset with AA, my flight last week got delayed over 14 hours and I was with my 2 kids.... what a nightmare
@@merciaguerra3377 if you still have the AA status for a few months and want to jump over to Team Delta, you can do a status match over to SkyTeam: flyingblue.statusmatch.com/ it's $299 to match from AA Platinum to SkyTeam Gold, but that's definitely less than the $1729 to renew AA status.
I was really looking forward to the video, but then she asked the key question I had in mind: "How much do you have to spend on a credit card to get status?" He never gave a straight answer with an actual number. Can you please clear that up? We spend a lot and really need to know. Thanks in advance
You will get 1 Loyalty Point (LP) per $1 spent. There are many level 40,000 LP means $40,000 for GOLD Status. It is part of a strategy but it is definitely the hard way, To get to Top Tier Status you need 175,000 LP which means $175,0000
Where's the discussion of the FRUGAL way to gain and keep status? Am working the shopping, simply miles and dining method yet when your bank balance is not going to be plentiful, 40,000 loyalty points seems overwhelming.
It would be good to clarify some AA co branded cards like Red aviator credit card only allows free bag for domestic flights. It is useless to me because I travel more international .
This is a really good point! the AA call Brand credit card by Barclays and CITI are almost as good as AA gold status. You receive group 5 boarding and free checked bag for flights in North America. It actually is not bad for US Canada, Caribbean, and Mexico City. if you are flying internationally long-haul or outside of the region, the credit card free benefit won’t apply
He mentioned blue bank twice. This is not something on my radar. Can someone tell me what this is or what this credit card is or why I would want it for travel hacking?
Blue bank = Chase. A lot of people get used to not saying "Chase" because compliance laws say we can't mention their names or cards on Instagram or some other platforms
The BILT transfer to AA is ending very soon (it's getting replaced by Alaska as a transfer partner). We covered this a few weeks ago in some episodes about Alaska Airlines, but In case you hadn't heard the news, please subscribe to stay up to date with the latest points and miles tips each week.

Of course those are excellent ways to learn AA miles as well.
great suggestions as well!

Those hacks are 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for the info + video!

I booked a hotel for my mom and still got the points. It was actually two rooms and I had someone else as the person staying. Still got the LPs. My DP
It's definitely a YMMV situation. My friend may have gotten Hyatt elite nights at AA Advantage Hotels.
good data point! it definitely varies by hotel

The whole "arguing with your wife about her having to check a bag" thing hits HOME, hahaha
hahahaha! who usually wins the argument?
I Like to see you together after the Travel summit 😊

Don’t forget the 30% bonus on loyalty points for 6 months…
