The part where he yells, “I want you to be alive!” is so powerful. He sounds like someone who’s lost a loved one to suicide, and is now venting about how much they miss their loved one and want them back.
I think the message “I want you to be alive, you don’t gotta die.” is most definately better captured by yelling it. Deadass hit me harder than a truck when I heard that from yall. Keep up the good shit.

My kids (6 and 10) and I got to meet these guys after the show in Nashville. Spent a lot of time chatting with Wood and Matt. Kids got pictures and drumsticks and picks and the setlist and autographed everything. My youngest got a very sincere hug from Trevor. It's been a week and he's still talking about it every day.
These guys are the real deal. Genuine, kind, gracious. I always refer to OLN as sort of Metal 101, but that doesn't mean I hold them in any less regard as a band like Mastodon or Trivium or Chevelle. These guys are the real McCoy all the way from start to finish. And they put on a kick ass show, too. With a work ethic like they have, they're not going anywhere any time soon.

Holy shit. These guys never fail to impress me. I'm honestly surprised it wasn't as heavy as some of their other covers and I kinda expected Khalid's part to be like that. But as it is this is my new favorite cover as theirs. Major props to you guys for covering this song and for being, in my opinion, one of the best out there. My friend in my biker group has just committed suicide yesterday. Took his life to end his personal suffering... no one knew he was in so much pain. He was one of the favorite young men who never caused drama, never was negative, always was happy and fun to be around. He was like a little brother and a son to so many of us here in our group. His name was Tyler Brooks, just recently turned 21, and now he is forever gone from this world. We all miss you brother. It's hard to hold back these tears.

Thank you everyone... just wow... the amount of love and support from you strangers has really shown and this made it to 3rd most liked comment (YT fails to notify me of anything so I'm extremely late myself on this reply). I want this to be a monument for Tyler and for those who also took their lives. I've read all 150 comments, a few made me laugh, but most made me smile and become thankful for the good side of Humanity that has shown itself on here. I fully recovered awhile ago and think of him whenever I see something that relates to him, but I just smile and remember when he was here. As I type this, I cry not because I'm sad, but that I'm happy and like I said before, thankful for everyone's comments. I hope 2019 is a year of joy and progress for you all and I hope for the best for each and every one of you.

He seemed like the happiest guy around and never complained (a great example of what this 1-800 song explains).

I think this cover gives the message more, the tone and the mood match up and actually give the memo that someone is having a struggle. The yelling for “i want to be alive” shows the point of a other person who sees your struggle

This shit really hits in a different way than the original song and its amazing. The original really is an incredible song too. After getting out of the Marine Corps it was really hard to adjust back into civilian life and deal with the things that stay with you. It is always nice to see people like you guys who put in the effort and time to help spread information that can help people who are in need. I know many other vets that have dealt and still deal with depression so it is always nice to see things like this that help.

This song hits home, every time I hear it.. It’s helped me through so many times I’ve thought about just ending it all, when I’ve felt and been so low. Thank you for you good thoughts and he never left a note, he gave away all of his possessions(IPods, Video game etc...), things he knew we wouldn't notice. We sought help for him at a lot of special hospitals, and they were not close but we didn't abandon him. He would call and we would be there for him. He was sponsored by a skateboard Co. at age 9 and had everything, you would think he would want but only his Therapist really knew. Anyway I go here every month www.survivorsofsuicide.com/ I guess to hear how bad it is on people that survive it too. Hey guys. Love the new cover, the song is such an inspiration to me as a military vet who suffers from depression. I've lost too many friends in the military due to suicide, but sadly I know it won't stop. I've saved a few from following through but you can't save everyone I suppose. This is really helping me right now. I lost my mom last month to cancer. She was there for me when my father passed she meant the world to me and now that she’s gone I’ve struggled even more with depression but hearing him say I want you alive makes me feel like he’s actually talking to me. Thanks guys keep it up!
