    I’m a do it yourself person myself and I have to say this is one of the best videos I’ve seen. Extremely informative and easy directions. Your soft spoken and easy to listen to. And yes you spoil your dog as I have done as well. Great Job😊

    Do not apply ANY flea or tick treatment until 48 hours after a bath. Since they use the natural oils in the skin to spread, and bathing strips those oils, it could render it useless. Also, rubbing the product in will not help, but hurt. Please always read the instructions on whatever you use, as dogs skin is super sensitive and applying incorrectly could damage
    the skin :) Cute dog!! Great job :)

    What a good boy he is! I have a long hair doxie and I need to try and groom her. I'm paranoid about taking her somewhere because I don't want her to stress out! I'm scared to trim her nails because they are solid black! I don't want to hurt her!

    • @SimplyHandmade
      @SimplyHandmade  8 лет назад +1

      +Beauty By Malinda i leave the nail trimming to my husband! Teddy doesn't like it too much but I found that a dremel works better than nail clippers (he has darker nails too).

      Beauty By Malinda > I have same issues with my puppy Ryder, multiple sources told me same advice for clipping black nails, just to clip a little bit at a time then wait 7-10 days and clip again until desired length is achieved. I just gave her ,her first haircut and nail clipping and everything went perfect no issues with her nails when I did as directed and only clipped a little bit and filed it smooth. Shave took forever because she had so much long and thick fur that it clogged up the clippers consistently, not allowing them to cut effectively until they were wiped off, removed guard and cleared out the hair underneath the guard in between it and the blade.

Much more efficient after noticing the problem and staying up on hair removal especially when cutting seems slow or uneven suddenly.

    I am a groomer and for the most part, you did a good job. I would encourage you to watch a professional groomer in person or on video to correct just a few things. For example, trimming near the armpit with scissors and trimming around the eyes with scissors pointed towards the dog. I would encourage your viewers to do the same.

    Your video is so relaxing to watch I think it's the music in the background, lol. I just started grooming my Ttoodle at home too. I am so blessed my pup is so calm and a good breed like yours. It makes it much easier and saves a whole bundle of money. Plus I feel as she comes home looking scared every time she gets back from petsmart. Little do you know it's super easy to groom at home! I bought my kit on amazon with the whole set, clippers, comb nail clippers etc. your dog is really cute. Great video!

    We're just starting and learning to groom our two morkies. Your video was helpful, One of our morkies favors the terrier look while the other looks more Maltese. The question I have for you is how to trim the back of the head down to the neckline. We want it to blend in without looking choppy. We tend to leave the hair a bit longer than Teddy because we live in a cold climate. We bought the grooming kit and the electric grooming shaver that has different attachments for different lengths, Where did you get the grooming brush?

    • @SimplyHandmade
      @SimplyHandmade  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks for your comment. To groom the back of the neck, I chose the attachment I wanted and kept passing the shaver down the neck. I notice it's choppy when you first begin shaving but once the fur is cut evenly (this will take quite a few passes) it becomes smooth and seamless. I believe I got the brush from either my local pet store or Chewy.com. I have the one I used linked in the description box :)

    Thank you for this! It actually looks easier than I thought it would be. My Bella is a maltese cross with a similar coat to your dog but she is black and white in colour. She needs to be groomed but she has a partial tear in her CCL and will only let me touch her leg as it is sensitive, so going to the groomer this summer won't be easy. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow myself, hopefully she looks as good as your dog at the end!

      I received my Wahl clipper and scissors set from Amazon and did
      my first dog grooming. I put a wide board over the bathroom sink
      for a grooming stand. Little Andi my 10 pound terrier didn't mind a
      bit. She is used to getting clipped. I stopped a few times to oil the
      clippers and make sure they weren't heating up. It looks like I need
      more practice. lol. Thanks.

    • @SimplyHandmade
      @SimplyHandmade  7 лет назад

      I'm glad you were able to start grooming! It takes a bit of practice for sure. If the cut looks choppy I find it helpful to keep passing over the same area until it looks smooth. It's definitely a learning curve though. I would say it took me a solid 3 grooming sessions to get a length/style I like on Teddy.

    Great video. I was wondering which blade did you use? He is a very patient puppy. I hope I will do this well with my baby. Do you trim the nails?

    • @SimplyHandmade
      @SimplyHandmade  6 лет назад

      thank you so much! I listed the materials I used in the description box. as for the nails, I get them trimmed by the groomer he occasionally goes to. Unfortunately teddy isn't as patient with me clipping his nails as he is with me grooming him!

    I read that if you use flea and tick shampoo, you shouldn't use a treatment or spray in addition. They say use one or the other because of the danger of overdosing your pet. It can build up over time.

      +lindaatalberta aw I'd love to see your puppy! It's not too hard learning to cut the fur yourself. Just requires some practice 😊

    Thanks so much! I will be grooming no my Lucy at home. I’ve seen so many scary videos about places being rough with fur babies. This will be easy enough.. now to figure out how to get her to be still for me!!!! Any tips on that?! Lol!

    • @SimplyHandmade
      @SimplyHandmade  6 лет назад

      Treats!!! It took a while for my pup to sit still without treats but just offer less and less and if they get way too finneky, just stop. In the beginning I would take days to groom him, now just a few hours. And you're right - it's so hard to find a good groomer!!

    Thank you so much for this. My dog just had puppies and spending $$ on 2 dogs going to the groomers plus vaccinations for 4 new puppies is a alot so being able to save some money on grooming for the summer will be great . Thank you for an excellent video

    biggest teddy fan from south korea. i had a baby doggie brother looks just like him. i met him on my 7th birth day and he passed away last year at 17 years old. i miss him so much, he was my brother, son, father, and friend.i google anything related to him. then i found this video. he was unique dog, when he walks around people ask me about his breed and always praise hie shiny golden hair. little grumpy, childish, liked little boys as a friend, loved sunbathing, protect my mom and me all the time, always waiting for us, loved us , cheered us. we used to call him teddy too. he did look like teddy bear. so does your teddy bear. teddy even have his small detail. pinky skin, Dermatitis back of neck, long skinny tail, the way belly and leg hair grows, body size, shiny hair. facial and body expression , little bit of dark brown hair on mustache, the way ear hair grow faster, the spot of black mole point. my mom and i got shocked and happy to see a dog looks just like him. even teddy bear in this video looks a lot more alike than video and picture of my brother in my phone. just wanna thank you for giving me big happiness to feel like seeing my brother again. especially bath part brings me so many memory. i checked your facebook. thank you again for sharing this precious video. my mom says half kidding, and half serious we should buy bunch of present for teddy bear and flying to ny just to meet teddy. i am gonna watch another your video one by one. because you have a energy that makes someone more happy and bright. love to you and teddy!! -ps my mom even bookmarked this video to watch for cheer her up.haha

      Thank you so, so, so much for your kind words! I can't believe our dogs are so similar down to the smallest detail! If you're on social media tag me on the photos of your teddy bear! I'd love to see how he looks too!! Just for you guys I'm going to make sure he's in some of my videos for you to watch and bring back good memories of your dog. I'm so sorry for your loss - I know they're not just pets but a part of our family. Your comment made my day and I'm so happy Teddy brings you and your mom comfort

    How do u make him stay still ?

    • @SimplyHandmade
      @SimplyHandmade  7 лет назад +2

      Patience and treats! I also work with him and make sure he's as comfortable as possible. If he moves a certain way, then I adjust and groom a different section. As long as Teddy is comfortable, he will let me keep grooming him :) Hope this helps!
