      In some areas it's worse than that. There are two 'roads' I know of that maps will tell you to take which are not public roads; both are barely/maybe one lane dirt tracks, one has always privately owned and closed so far as I know, the other has a gate and was apparently once open to the public in some capacity but was closed long ago . Even if they were public maps seems to prefer them to proper two lane streets. There's also an address with a farmhouse and fields right next to the freeway, which has to be accessed from the exit about 2 miles in one direction or the other one maybe 6 in the other direction. But somehow maps thinks you can access it directly from the freeway.

  • @deltaflute03

    There’s major issues with this. 1) Google says there’s no construction in areas where I dash when clearly there is. It’s been that way for weeks. 2) I’ve had connectivity issues in some of spotty reception areas so dropping stuff off looks late when it isn’t or Google doesn’t know where I am and I miss a turn 3) Google isn’t up to date on accidents 4) There doesn’t appear to be a way to reroute manually if there is an accident or heavy traffic 5) I’ve had instances where restaurants aren’t taking orders because of internet down yet DoorDash is allowing orders through or restaurants aren’t receiving orders outright
    Point is there’s a lot of reasons why a Dasher may be “late” and if the app can’t give us options to dispute for things like accidents than we’re all gonna get violations and possibly deactivated.

  • @johnpuntenney4596

    For me, if there are issues like trains causing delays, traffic, and other stuff, before I hit arrived at store, I will press the question mark and select issues with store address, and then report the reason for the delay (even if it's typing in other reasons). Been a few months since my last violation as a result. For that I would get a violation about once every 2 months or so.

    The problem with the delivery time adjustment when its not the Dasher's fault, is that even when the app and Google Maps adjusts the time, in the backend, it is not changed. And if the On Time rating worked, as it used to, because now its just off, your On Time performance would drop.

      Thats because the algorithm, marked you late even though support told you wouldn't get a CV . Algorithm works independent of customer support. In these cases I call support again and tell them what happened as they should have documentation of your previous call. Let me tell you what I've noticed.
    I'm in a very rural area, so longer dashes are a norm. This is not a problem. Here is what is.
    When I'm in town the speed limits are posted and correct. 35,40,45 mph, however. Let's say it shows I have 4 minutes to get to the restaurant. If I speed up by 5 miles an hour. MY TIMER SPEEDS UP AS WELL. If I maintain the speed limit posted. I have YET reach the restaurant by the listed time. The timer always goes to 0. 1/4 of a mile away!!! This is just the beginning.
    Now let's assume that everything goes right ( ha,ha,ha) and you make it out of the store in 5 minutes.
    As I hit the rural roads in most counties they are posted the same as the numbers above...BUT Google maps has it as 45,55,65!!! I DARE any Door Dash leader to join me in my VW Passat turbo diesel on these mountainous roads at those speeds. Having said that, I'm usually there 2 or 3 minutes after the timer 0's.
    My current on time rate is 92%.
    Door Dash has me in the green. But for how long?
    The red card has bit me in the butt a few times as well. I'm actually thinking about finding out how to drop that part of the program.
    The long and short of it is. I'll do my best, if it's not good enough then as Jay Z says " On to the next one"

    I got a contract violation for the merchant taking forever to complete the order and made me extremely late. I disputed it and it says it's under review. Do they actually review them or do they just let them drop off after 100 deliveries? I even contacted support to let them know and they assured me I would not get a contract violation for this.

    The thing that makes me worried about this, is my app hasn’t had the the option for me to rate if a restaurant is falling behind, and the ability for me to give feedback on how the order went once I hit delivered for a year now. I used this religiously to ensure I didn’t get dinged for being late, gps issues, etc. I don’t know about this. I’ve updated app, install/reinstall. I’m seeing people say they’re able to still mark but I haven’t had that in forever. Has anyone else experienced this?

    • @vikings7683
      @vikings7683 5 месяцев назад

      They changed the options. While on order hit the question mark in upper left and you should see. Store issue , driver issue.
      If you still so not see it, first log out of app. Then go into your phone settings and scroll down to DD app and click storage. When there delete cache and clear data. Next uninstall app, and power phone completely off for about 3 mins. Do this by holding power button until you get the option to power off or restart. After you restart go and Download app again, and sign in. This should completely reset the DD app.
      Also I recommend resetting your phones network . Go into phone settings and in search bar at top type " Reset network settings" click it , scroll down and it gives you 4 reset options. You only want the "reset network" option. click it and then restart phone.
      Hope this helps.

    How do you find out "why" you got deactivated?
    2 weeks ago I dashed in the morning, dash ended, then 2 hrs later hit DASH NOW and it went to a DEACTIVATION screen and I was totally confused as to why. I filled out the info to combat it, then 2 days later recieved an email stating my deactivation will stand due to contract violation.....
    I'm curious as to know what I violated?

      you do, or at least should, have appeal rights unless it was for low completion rate. What we really need is a local liaison for the area we work in whom we can talk to should serious problems arrive. An algorithm can't possibly determined if there is lousy weather in our area. At least I don't think so.

    Please see this. Hey brother. I been a dasher over 3yrs. And got deactivated for having to cancel a double order because my car broke down. It put me u see the brand new 90% minimum completion rate, as I was already doing wayyy better bc it use to be at 82%. I then paid 435$ to fix my car at the shop. I sent the receipt to doordash in my appeal with no response. I have lost thousands of dollars and am out of a job. I need my job back. Please if you know ANYBODY who can help me. I will be sure to keep it above 90%. And be very thankful for the help man. Please see this

    It’s simple do your job. You expect an order finish it don’t cancel it. Once you get the order go straight to the customer smile l. They have gps they know if you are making other stops. As soon as you click got order that’s when you they track you. There is no conspiracy that DD deactivate people randomly or if you are a couple mins late one time. They need reliable drivers plain and simple

    • @brianbeecher3084
      @brianbeecher3084 6 месяцев назад +4

      the vast majority of the time lateness is due to something that is beyond your control. But sadly the algorithm must be set up to automatically issue a CV regardless. Even from day one I always made every attempt to notify customer if lateness might occur. And, most of the time, they handled it better than I did. There is a much better way to handle this though, and that would be to have a prompt come up into which we can designate a reason for lateness. Most common are the Big Three of weather, traffic and construction. Guess we can also refer to these as the unholy trinity.

      Bs- I've lived in my community for 25yrs as an adult driver - I deliver for DD and my on time rating is 90% - I've documented my drive and delivery times and am always early yet I'm at 90% - I break the traffic laws and know all the side roads and congested intersections - it's not possible to deliver any faster - DD ratings and violations are manipulative and vary from driver to driver - basically a algorithm keeping you on your toes even when you're providing excellent service -

    Last yr they deactivated me claiming I violated their tos by sharing my info with another acct which is absolutely BS, and after a couple of appeals NO LUCK, they probably got severely butt hurt bcuz I wasn't taking their shitty ass $2 delivery 15+ miles outside of my delivery area, then in order to get another delivery I have to drive back to my area (15 mi return trip) burning up gas I'm not getting paid for, do that about 10 times a day and that's at least 150 miles of gas myself and other drivers aren't getting paid for and for what, $2, for those who don't know, dd also charges customers more for the food than the restaurant does and that's not including any fees.
