Loved the frosting of Silken tofu w/chocolate chips, although I reduced to 6 oz chocolate chips and it was plenty sweet enough and thickened beautifully to frost a cake. Nestle Toll House "Semi-Sweet Allergen-Free" chocolate chips and Trader Joe's "Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips" are also vegan. Also used "Betty Crocker Super Moist Lemon Cake Mix" with 1 cup rinsed garbanzo beans & 1 cup water and the cake turned out phenomenal! I was frosting it when hubby and son descended upon the cake and ATE HALF OF IT before I could even chill it. 🤣Thank you for the inspirations!🤗
love this. I JUST did a similar video too! ha seems we all need a break from baking from scratch once in a while.Thanks. for also sharing the joy of Vegan baking!
They sell 2 different Kirkland brand chocolate chips and 1 of them is definitely vegan, taste better than the ones in the video, and are so much more cost effective! You won’t regret it. 😊
Genius hacks!! I just found your account and I'm loving all of your videos. I've been vegan for 8 years and still learning so much! Thank you from a mama needing inspiration!
Brilliant baking hacks! I love this! I have never thought of using chickpeas/black beans in a baking mix. That is so convenient and adds so much nutrition. Thank you!
It might help to put the batter in a zip lock and snip a good piece off the end like an Icing Piping Bag and that way you can make a quick swirl of the batter into the donut molds.
Wow! This morning I tried this for the first time with Betty Crocker Blueberry Muffin mix…amazing!!! They were perfect. No one would ever know. Thank you so much, Alisia!!!
Since this works with boxes, how would you replace eggs and oil with chickpeas in other non-box recipes? I don’t always like the sweetness and texture of using applesauce. Is there some formula that could be applied, like how much chickpeas equal an egg? Or how much chickpeas equal a 1/4 cup oil?
The beans are blowing my mind. When I first saw a can of chickpeas I thought you were going to use aquafaba 😅 using actual beans is so much easier and practical
I bet a lot of people have these ingredients in their home already 🤘🏼 I only needed to buy the actual cake mixes. I can’t wait to try this!! Thank you for these great recipes 🫶
@@plantwhyswe have made the donut recipe 3 times already, lol. We did your chocolate recipe with glaze and sprinkles (2 times). Then, I made a yellow cake mix but added (cinnamon , nutmeg, cloves). THEN..I made maple frosting (with melted v. butter , powdered sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon). My variation was NOT healthy…😂 I went off the rails! You are a genius, I am definitely making donuts this way from now on 🙌 P.S. They freeze great 👍
I always make muffins with absolutely no oil as well. I use silicon molds and never spray. They pop out clean as ever. I always remove them by popping from the bottom side and usually let them cool a bit before doing so.
@@pilatesbyalisia7015That makes sense. Thanks. Maybe low sodium chickpeas in a can would be better, but eliminating as much sodium as possible would be best - so I am going to drain and rinse unless I have cooked them from dry as I often do. I will try that aquafaba someday as I don’t add any salt then.
Hello Ali , I am new to your channel and have been enjoying and learning from you! I like the grey square strainer you’re using to strain your beans, would you mind telling me the source were purchased it? Thank you very much
@@plantwhys thanks for your reply Ali however I was talking about the small rectangular grey strainer that you use to empty the beans into the pans. Not the over the sink strainer. Thank you for your time.Ingrid
Thanks for the hacks! Wasn’t that lime juice and not lemon that you added to the avocado frosting? It looked green, not yellow. 😊 Nestle Tollhouse had plant based chocolate chips now but I still prefer Enjoy Life!
Awesome hacks! The white cake with green frosting would be perfect for St. Patrick's Day!
YESSS! I am totally going to make it!

Works great in cookies too. Just made 3 dozen for grab and go to soccer games. You can’t beat the added protein and fiber.
I agree! Super easy, so much better for you and still so yummy!
I need to do a bean cookie video next!@@inspiteofbecauseof4745

Great tip! I'll have to try letting them cool down more before popping them out and see if I can get away with not spraying them with oil.
They all look good!!
They all taste so good too!
I’m going to try the brownies first
Nyce recipes ❤
Thank you!!
WOW!!!!

Hi Ali, GREAT hack!!! Thank you❤
If I used the aquafaba in place of some of the water, would it make the cake fluffier? 🤔
I have totally tried that before and it makes the cake a little too salty for my taste.
I would also greatly appreciate knowing the answer to this question. Thanks. ❤

🤣 I wondered if anyone would catch my mistake! For some reason my mouth said lemon when I was holding a lime. 🤪
All of these recipes can be mixed in the Kitchen Aid?
Yep!
Trader Joe’s has vegan chocolate chips. :)
There's also Nestle allergen free chocolate chips that are vegan
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know!
@@plantwhys you are very welcome!
What type of powder sugar do you use ?
The only one available at my local grocery store. I'll have to check the brand. Nothing fancy.
❤
just rinse your silicone moulds with water no oil spray
Ok! I'll try this next time!
CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH VIDEO HAS THE PEACH COBBLER PLEASE
Would this work for GF mixes?
Yep!
