Just found this. We did this 6 or 7 years ago. Stashed a cooler near the drop off. Great trip. Didnt see another sole. Wished we could have found the cemetary.

Yes. Spent all day out there a few years ago with mountain bikes. Very nice. And NO PEOPLE!. Been to the beach side several times now.

Dude, I've been camping on the island since the 70s, they don't have gators and snakes are few and far between.
The scariest thing are the mosquitoes
