I have Been searching forever to find a tutorial without all the extra talking and is actually straight forward and this one is hands down the best. Thank you!!!!!!
Thankfully this was the first video I clicked on. Due to the other comments, I didn't have to waste my time watching any others! Exactly what I needed to hear!
Finally I found a video that is straight to the point. I've seen over 40 videos and they talk about everything else and throw some about the topic. Sort of like a baseball coach telling a beginning player to throw strikes. He demonstrates and then walks away. You gave a great explanation. Thanks.
I wish I had found this video last Friday. I viewed numerous videos that were longer in length. It wasted my time because I left with many questions. Thanks for this video. It has helped me greatly.
Thank you!! The one thing I questioned was if I needed to mirror... but by watching all the way through I see that I do not. Thank you. Xcellent tutorial 😁
I am completely new to using a circuit machine. I have watched so many videos (waiting to hear someone explain to beginners) which side of the vinyl goes face down onto the circuit mat. But have found no videos that give that very important information for beginners. So I'm hoping that someone here will answer that question for us beginners. Your answers are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the straight up tutorial without any additional talking on how not to, etc. How do you apply the decal to the inside of glass window where you can read a font from outside the glass?
After the cricut cuts out the design you should push the cut design a few times over the surface with a credit card or a scraper. That actually helps stick the cut out portion to the backing as you peel. And go very slow take your time. Have a very sharp exacto knife to carefully trim the edges that are still stuck.
Loved this video! At first I didn’t think it was going to answer my question but I took a chance it was the best video I’ve seen so far about decals lol
Thanks for the vid. A couple questions. First, shouldn't you seal this to help it to not breakdown in the sun & weather? Maybe a polyurethane spray on top after it's cut. Other sealing options? To help protect the decal, wouldn't it make more sense to mirror the image and then apply the transfer tape on top so the decal could be applied to the inside of the window? Sealing would be more difficult but at least the decal is protected from the elements (not necessarily the sunlight). What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Nice. Well done. I am looking to transfer a picture I’ve taken to software and do what you’ve done with your turtle and size it to put on the back cab of my truck. Can this be done! Looking for suggestions. Thank you.
Thank you, for this short and well explained video. I would like to know if I can use 3 colours on the same decal and also if I should put a laminated protection sheet before cutting the design ? Tank you ! 👍👍
Can you do a walk-through on how to cut out a rugrats character and what all you used please. I will be forever thankful,. I have been looking all over but cannot find what I'm looking for.
Are you trying to make custom stickers? I don’t have an inkjet printer currently which I believe I’d need for that, but if I can get access to one I’ll make a tutorial on it
Yep that’s correct, there’s no mirroring needed since you aren’t cutting it from the back like with HTV. It’ll be the same with monograms as well. The only time you’d need to mirror is if you were applying the vinyl to the inside glass of something and wanted it to be viewed from the outside
Good question. You can apply the transfer tape, lift to make sure everything is attached well, and then just stick the decal + transfer tape back to the backing like I did at 3:27, and they should be good to go when they’re ready to apply them. I would remind them to apply some pressure to the transfer tape before they remove them from the backing before application, just to be sure.
Not a stupid question! If you want to place it on the inside but still have it seen correctly from the outside then yeah, you just flip it. There’s an option to “mirror” the cut file in the make section of Cricut design space which will do that for you
I have seen people say you need to spray the decal with a poly. Is that just for color ones or is it really not needed? I am confused as if that would mess the decal up when you remove the transfer tape
How does the process change if you choose moderately complex for say 3 colors as opposed to the simple you show in this video? Just Got my cricut explore 3 on Christmas day, so I'm thinking a car decal should be fairly simple to do as a beginner.
Hey what’s the blue mat ? Looks like an easy way to get the stickers on the adhesive tape. I usually have a problem transfer to the sticker paper the first try
Apologize for seeing this comment late. For black and white 651 it’s rated at 6 years and the other colors are 4 years. No laminating needed! It’s made for outdoor use. I applied a decal to the rear windshield of a friend’s car at the time of this video and it is still perfect at nearly 3 years in the hot Texas sun!
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this able to be done on a house window? I want to make some holiday ones but im afraid I won't be able to peel it off. All the other videos said you had to buy window decal from cricut. But is it easy to peel off the window without it?
Not a dumb question! This should work on any glass or smooth surface, car or house. As far as removal it can take a little work to pry it off, but it will come off. The decal from the video I peeled off with my finger nail after I recorded it without much problem. Googone can take any leftover adhesive off. For temporary purposes you can also use oracal 631 which is for temporary use and won’t have as strong of an adhesive.
I watched SO many videos just to find this one that’s less than 5 minutes and answered every question I had 🤦🏽♀️
Same lol
Exactly!
Finally a video I could actually understand. Thank you so much

Hey there. For vinyl like in the video, you’re going to have it facing upwards, sticking the back of the vinyl to the mat.
@@JMKDIY thank you for answering; and for such a speedy reply. Thank you for your easy to follow instructions.

Doesn't have to be mirrored right?
I wish you could take these other teacher how to get to the point. This was perfect.
This was the most basic and to the point how to video! Thank you!
If not applying to a window right away or selling what do you use to protect it on the transfer paper? Thank you.
is there a way to make it transparent
Great tutorial. Thank you

How about outdoor removable vinyl? I would assume you can mirror it and apply on the inside of a car or house window?
thank you! short, sweet and educating!
How about making them for inside decals for cars
Thank you, for this short and well explained video. I would like to know if I can use 3 colours on the same decal and also if I should put a laminated protection sheet before cutting the design ? Tank you ! 👍👍
EXCELLENT! How can I make an oval black and white car decal? They are popular on vacation decals, but I can't find a tutorial on how to make them.

Can you do a walk-through on how to cut out a rugrats character and what all you used please. I will be forever thankful,. I have been looking all over but cannot find what I'm looking for.
Are you trying to make custom stickers? I don’t have an inkjet printer currently which I believe I’d need for that, but if I can get access to one I’ll make a tutorial on it
Making t shirts with the printable vinyl.
Ok so, when doing a car vinyl you don't mirror it? How about with lettering like monograms?

Does the cling vinyl also require transfer paper?
Thanks for this it was very helpful. What is the difference between the cricut maker and the cricut explore?
I'm making several decals for my sister for Christmas. She wants to give them to to friends. How do I store them until she's ready for them?
Good question. You can apply the transfer tape, lift to make sure everything is attached well, and then just stick the decal + transfer tape back to the backing like I did at 3:27, and they should be good to go when they’re ready to apply them. @@JMKDIY Great, thank you
what was the material that you applied the decal to for use later
What is the best model machine for something like this and how big does it do.
Thank you the most helpful tutorial of all
Will cricut removable matte work for a car window
Simple and to the point ❤️❤️❤️
Hi maybe a stupid question but if I want it to go on the inside of a car window i just flip the image before cutting?

Why does my cut it option distort my image but print and cut doesn’t?
Does it have to be shiny side down ?
How many window roll downs to you get before the turtle starts shedding scales?
I have seen people say you need to spray the decal with a poly. Is that just for color ones or is it really not needed? I am confused as if that would mess the decal up when you remove
the transfer tape
Wondering if your turtle decal is still lasting after 3 years?
Best so far
How long do the decals usually last? On average.
How do prevent bubbles to get inside the decal
Will it work with the joy?
How does the process change if you choose moderately complex for say 3 colors as opposed to the simple you show in this video? Just Got my cricut explore 3 on Christmas day, so I'm thinking a car decal should be fairly simple to do as a beginner.
I got rid of the dots around the main design and that’s the only thin that’s printing. Why?
Can we use Cricut brand vinyl? Does brand matter?
How do I layer a decal for a window
Hi how to apply vinyl inside the car or shop window?
Hey what’s the blue mat ? Looks like an easy way to get the stickers on the adhesive tape. I usually have a problem transfer to the sticker paper the first try
So do I not clean the image?
I have a cameo 4 what cut settings do you recommened?
Yesss thank you dude.
Loved it
My machine won't let me make it a cut image. When I click cut image it turns black and then just pastes a black box
Amazing! Thanks so much!
Straightforward! How long does Oracal 651 last on car windows? Do you suggest laminating them? I’m looking for best quality and durability. Thanks!
Apologize for seeing this comment late. For black and white 651 it’s rated at 6 years and the other colors are 4 years. No laminating needed! It’s made for outdoor use. @@JMKDIY thank you so much, definitely appreciate your insight.
What kind of paper do you need
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this able to be done on a house window? I want to make some holiday ones but im afraid I won't be able to peel it off. All the other videos said you had to buy window decal from cricut. But is it easy to peel off the window without it?

For temporary purposes you can also use oracal 631 which is for temporary use and won’t have as strong of an adhesive.
So is this Vinyl different from the vinyl used on shirts?
Will it remove without damage or residue ?
