    What so you use for fertilization or plant food? And how often do you fertilize them?

    • @paultheplantparent2702
      @paultheplantparent2702  Год назад

      I’ve been using either orchid fertilizer (Bettergro) or hydroponic fertilizer (Maxigro). It’s also very diluted. I mix up per the instructions and then just add 3-5 drops to the water when I flush. Could be once a week or once every two weeks. Sometimes I go without it to give them a break. They don’t seem to mind. 🌱👍🏼

    ممكن سؤال من فضلك؟؟ كيف توفر لنبات الكلاثيا الرطوبه؟؟ هل ترشها بالماء واذا كان نعم هل ترشها يوميا لتوفير الرطوبه؟؟ شكرا لك

      Hello. 😃. For the succulent Kokedama, they only need the root ball moistened once a week or once every two weeks. I’ve even let them go for about a month and they were fine. 👍🏼. I don’t leave water in the glass, just soak the root ball and drain the excess water.

    Hey, great video. I personally want to try awter culturing calatheas, but I live in a desert climate where humidity is really low, and I hear that calatheas are notorious hard to keep... So I am wondering if keeping calatheas in water culture lowers the requirement/need for high humidity level? What's your experience?

    • @paultheplantparent2702
      @paultheplantparent2702  Год назад +1

      I’ve had them in low humidity - 20%. But that might be why they got attacked by spider mites. They attacked almost all of them. 😞. They were thriving fine until that happened.

      Oh no... So sorry to hear that 😭 Thank you so much for making these videos. It really opened my eyes to the many possibilities of water culture. And I too am transitioning some of my plants over to water culture as well. For your calatheas, do you first let them acclimate to your home before transitioning over to Hydro? Or do you straight repot them when you get them?

      @@Valentair I’ve done both. The only mistake I made was keeping it in soil until I saw signs of decline. Then it was too late to transfer. 😞

    Hi Paul, do you have Calathea orbifolia, it has like small potatoes in the roots, u want transfer one to water culture but I'm worried about the small potatoes because rot, however... did you fill the receipts til cover the potato or just the roots?

    • @paultheplantparent2702
      @paultheplantparent2702  Год назад +2

      Hey Alejandro. I have a young orbifolia in water culture. Sometimes I leave the little potatoes but sometimes I cut them off. Either way, new roots should form. If they’re healthy, those tubers should be fine in water. If they’re damaged, that’s when they could rot and I’d remove them. Either way, they really don’t need them in water culture since there’s no need to store moisture. Most of my mature Calathea had/have those tubers. Up to you if you want to keep them or not. 😃🌱

      The calathea addiction is real lol, but they are beautiful plants and you appear to have cracked the code and found a great way to care for them. I feel your pain with the stromanthe as my stromanthe triostar was doing well until winter came and she just decided she didn’t want to go on, I think the central heating may have been a factor. Do you have a white fusion or more aglaonema’s in water culture? I bought my first aglaonema three weeks ago, a beautiful silver queen. She’s already given me two leaves with two more coming through. Obsessed with her right now lol :)
