- The 2025 BMW M5 is an incredibly powerful super sedan! With its plugin hybrid powertrain, it produces 717 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. But that power comes with quite a weight penalty attached to it, as this thing weighs 5,390 pounds... #Autotrader #BMW #M5

sad conformists not gonna like my comment, but this g90 ///M5 is one of the best-looking models. I like how the side profile somewhat shares the E60 lines, and the front has F10 DNA.
It looks really good but the weight is unfortunate.
I’m driving this model with 530e engine and I’ve also had the previous model and yes! The new model is heavy and you can feel it during the breaking.
Previous models were stopping immediately. In this model the weight pushes you forward.
5000lbs 🤯🤯
Almost every trim of the L405 Range Rovers weighed less.
Looks awesome especially with the M performance parts fitted👍
Excellent point about the Extra weight in regard to wear and tear on the tires, brakes and other suspension components.
It's something I think about quite a bit with respect to performance EVs too. The cars can do amazing things, but those poor engineers are probably going mad making it all work as well as it does.
We forgot calories/gravity exist. It’s unfortunate you’re forced to cover this 🗑️
2024 M5 Comp:
625 Horsepower (V8 engine)
750 Feet Pound of Torque
1,865kg (4,111 pounds)
2025 M5:
577 Horsepower (V8 S68 engine)
553 Feet Pound of Torque
192 Electric Power
202 Feet Pound of Torque from Electric
2,435kg (5,368 pounds)
The 2025 M5 is significantly heavier, for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, once you run out of your electric battery charge (25-mile range), you are left with only 577 V8 horsepower to push a 5,368-pound car. What a disaster! And the rest, I am not sure where to go with it.
What is up with not having a gear lever? I don’t think BMW is listening to their customers and clients anymore.
Every interview they feed us a bunch of BS and the interviewers are afraid to ask tough questions. The BMW may fool the new buyers, but not the BMW enthusiasts and the people who are loyal to the brand. More so, those who are engineers are not buying these nonsense interviews.
You can’t fool us. Cheap plastic door panels, plastic carbon fiber-looking paddle shifts, and no carbon fiber steering. Yet, all of which is available on the M3 and M4 models. The rear diffuser truly looks like an afterthought Lego attachment. And the front kidney grill is identical to the i5 M60. What a joke!
And I am sure BMW has increased the price beyond any measure to match the rest of the model lineups.
There was no 2024 m5. Stop. Embarrassing.
@@LiquidCopper_M3 Typo... But, still factual and valid points.
@user-gy7cy2it4p it's hybrid what do you mean run out of electricity
@@Sleepingcoffee979 Are you serious? Please educate yourself. It is a "plug-in hybrid", which means you need a Level I or Level II charger to charge the battery. 577 Horsepower (V8 S68 engine) and 192 Electric Power. Once you run out of the electric power, the 577 ICE HP has to push this heavy beast.
@user-gy7cy2it4p well no duh ? 577 is more then enough I'm not sure when people thought 577 horsepower isn't enough. But you saying once you run out of the 25 mile electric battery like it's running solely on that which is dumb .
