What I'd experience in Puerto Rico, is that most Puerto Ricans, from the island don't consider New Yoricans, as Puerto Ricans. They feel we are too Americanized, even though they themselves are ruled by the United States.
I feel like nuyoricans try to standardize our foods and culture. One nuyorican said pasteles don’t include raisins. All the sudden they try tell us in Puerto Rico, we shouldn’t eat pasteles w raisins because it’s not the standard. Se vayan al carajo.
Aibonito? I spent some time there visiting my aunt. Loved the high altitude weather. It even gets chilly during winter seasons up there and you need to bundle up a little. Love how you can almost reach up and touch a cloud.
Our DNA is a mix of many things , so just because you are born on the island doesn't make you more Puerto Rican than the next , my roots go all the way back to the slaves of Puerto Rico, but I dont hold on to the European language SPANISH and say because I dont speak Spanish I'm less latino. I'm 100000% Puerto Rican NUYORICAN / BROOKLYN RICAN all day and forever
Well what makes a Puerto Rican its the blood and the culture and many US ricans haven’t experienced or know the Puerto Rican culture as Puerto Rican’s de Puerto Rico sabes de lo que hablo papo?
joeblowmha That's not what I heard here in the states. It has been informed that a large percentage of Puerto Ricans of P.R. want to be the 51st state of the United States. And that is what the ballot shows. Now its up to Congress to decide if they want to do this. They also informed all those that like in America...that Puerto Rico is anxious to know if they will be allowed to be a part of the United States Of America. As they know P.R. is going bankrupt and fast. Just fyi. Good luck my people and may God Bless Puerto Rico as everything happens for a reason.
Joe...they already have it...the Bronx and J-Low's ass is the president of it. Reality is that MOST of us want US Statehood. We have served in WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War and Iraqi Wars and have paid in blood for the right to be FINALLY a state. Think about this...Puerto Rico is a "commonwealth" of the US, just like Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Virginia, but they are States and even since 1898 when the US stole us from Spain, we are STILL NOT A STATE. Does that seem right?
Me identifican mis raíces europeas y españolas.

Ivan...I am born and raised in Puerto Rico and have lived in the US for MANY years and because my family is white (Basque, Corsican, Canary Islander, Irish, French and German), we were told by Nuyoricans that we were not "really" Puerto Ricans. This is what happens when idiot ricans have allowed themselves to be shamed out of their undeniable European background in the black ghettos....just look at them...with the asses hanging out of their pants and pieces of OUR flag as a "trapo" on their greasy heads...un GRAN BOCHORNO....like my Corsican grandfather used to say.... "mi'jo cuando el hombre pierde la verguenza, no hay NADIE que se la devuela" Ghetto-ricans are completely identity-raped, culturally-hi-jacked and history-robbed...they think that the Bronx is the capitol of Puerto Rico and J-Low's ass is the mayor of San Juan. When I would encounter Nuyoricans bragging about being black (but the "just look white"), I would remind them of the following: * EUROPEAN language legacy (Spanish & English) ...(no one speaks Taino Talk or Zulu or Chupacabra-speak) * EUROPEAN legal matrix ...(Napoleonic legal tradition, like in Louisiana, USA and in France) * EUROPEAN marriage tradition of consent ...(no trading of child virgins for cheetah skins or elephant tusks) * EUROPEAN marriage dissolution ...(divorce, not stoning ex-wife to death or feeding her to lions) * EUROPEAN city design ...(all 77 towns designed around central Mediterranean plaza built by Europeans) * EUROPEAN entrepreneurial tradition ...(no trading of shrunken heads or bone necklaces for bananas) * EUROPEAN inheritance tradition ...(upon death, property goes to family, NOT to invading warriors) * EUROPEAN tradition of vestiture (clothing) ...(no one wears loin cloths or grass-skirts or turbans or tribal head-dress) * EUROPEAN banking tradition ...(amassing currency, no trading Indian beads like Manhattan Island was centuries ago) * EUROPEAN mercantile trading tradition with hard currency in exchange ...(no trading Cheetah skins for mangos or wooden beads) * EUROPEAN tradition of housing ...(no one lives in caves or huts or trees) *EUROPEAN architectural tradition ...(no one lives stone or coconut huts) ***EUROPEAN primo-geniture sibling order observation ...(oldest son inherits estate followed by next son and so on...) ***EUROPEAN tradition of recording history in empirical collections ...(no one is scratchin history on cave walls or trees or pieces of animal skin) ***EUROPEAN tradition of journalism and news dissemination ...(no one is screaming from mountain tops, yodeling or beating war drums) European traditions DO exist in Puerto Rico, you just have to get past the coconut shell, Hula-Hula dancing "Porto-Rican" dolls at the airport gift shop and the Black-faced Grass-skirted dolls sold in the tacky gift-shops at the Marriott hotels.
im glad you feel that way about us new yoricans we feel the same about you guys. lazy dirty island. we are more educated we are doctors attorneys athletes and musicians what about you ?

The division among us is terrible. We should all realize that we ALL come from Puerto Rico. She's in pain right now after hurricane Maria.
There is always cultural rift between people who remain in their country and those who are raised abroad.
Nuyorican from the Bronx, it should be called the Nuyorican day parade.
Like si eres boricua de cora❤❤❤
Speechless
Nuyorican from the Bronx, Tremont ave. I'll die a Yankee.

PR LIBRE
joeblowmha That's not what I heard here in the states.

Hey Methsmack...are you aware that Puerto Rico is in the Atlantic OCEAN and NOT in Tijuana? GEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ...OMG...PLEASE read a book!
snowflurriez28...This is typical YT nonsense...morons with a video camera talking shit as usual...they get their information about Puerto Rico from the Taco Bell drive-up window menu...
you're a stupid bitch.

we are all Puerto Rican s
Not true, i'm 100% Nuyorican from the Bronx.
@@eddiesaninocencio6635 so wait? you do not consider yourself Puerto Rican? I ask because your comment reads as if to say your heritage is not from Boriken...or are you saying that because you're from the Bronx, then you more align yourself with gringo culture & gringo americanos? ouch !!!
Nuyoricans are not Puerto Rican
"mi'jo cuando el hombre pierde la verguenza, no hay NADIE que se la devuela"
Ghetto-ricans are completely identity-raped, culturally-hi-jacked and history-robbed...they think that the Bronx is the capitol of Puerto Rico and J-Low's ass is the mayor of San Juan.
When I would encounter Nuyoricans bragging about being black (but the "just look white"), I would remind them of the following:
* EUROPEAN language legacy (Spanish & English)
...(no one speaks Taino Talk or Zulu or Chupacabra-speak)
* EUROPEAN legal matrix
...(Napoleonic legal tradition, like in Louisiana, USA and in France)
* EUROPEAN marriage tradition of consent
...(no trading of child virgins for cheetah skins or elephant tusks)
* EUROPEAN marriage dissolution
...(divorce, not stoning ex-wife to death or feeding her to lions)
* EUROPEAN city design
...(all 77 towns designed around central Mediterranean plaza built by Europeans)
* EUROPEAN entrepreneurial tradition
...(no trading of shrunken heads or bone necklaces for bananas)
* EUROPEAN inheritance tradition
...(upon death, property goes to family, NOT to invading warriors)
* EUROPEAN tradition of vestiture (clothing)
...(no one wears loin cloths or grass-skirts or turbans or tribal head-dress)
* EUROPEAN banking tradition
...(amassing currency, no trading Indian beads like Manhattan Island was centuries ago)
* EUROPEAN mercantile trading tradition with hard currency in exchange
...(no trading Cheetah skins for mangos or wooden beads)
* EUROPEAN tradition of housing
...(no one lives in caves or huts or trees)
*EUROPEAN architectural tradition
...(no one lives stone or coconut huts)
***EUROPEAN primo-geniture sibling order observation
...(oldest son inherits estate followed by next son and so on...)
***EUROPEAN tradition of recording history in empirical collections
...(no one is scratchin history on cave walls or trees or pieces of animal skin)
***EUROPEAN tradition of journalism and news dissemination
...(no one is screaming from mountain tops, yodeling or beating war drums)
European traditions DO exist in Puerto Rico, you just have to get past the coconut shell, Hula-Hula dancing "Porto-Rican" dolls at the airport gift shop and the Black-faced Grass-skirted dolls sold in the tacky gift-shops at the Marriott hotels.
im glad you feel that way about us new yoricans we feel the same about you guys. lazy dirty island. we are more educated we are doctors attorneys athletes and musicians what about you ?

Both nuyorican and Puerto Ricans are a mix of Spanish,Native taino indians they have no african ancestry,Thats why Cuban,Brazilian and Dominican women have better bodies
I lived in Miami back in the 1970's and all I saw were white Cubans. Thought they were Anglo Americans and spoke to them in English. Only when they replied in Spanish did I realize my mistake.
Dominican women have better bodies because of the surgeries
