  • The wait was worth it for this little guy! We had a great experience with our breeders, perfect weather for the trip, and we are already in love with the little chunk. I know this is different from my usual fitness and training content, but this is a video that I wanted to have and as part of the family I feel he deserves and introduction :)

Reminds of when we brought home our Flat Coat. A 6 hour drive each way. On our way back, I reached back to help calm her and she nipped my fingers. At that point, she acquired the nickname she had for life. That said, she was one of the absolute BEST dogs I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She was so great with kids, from infants to teens. My niece learned to both stand, and walk with her. Grabbing fist fulls of fur to pull herself up with our FC just looking at us like "Do I HAVE to let her do this" When we nodded yes and motioned her to be still, she just stood there and let it happen. When my nice started walking she had pulled herself up and then had been hanging on to our FC's tail near the body. The FC took a TINY step, then my niece followed. When she was stable again, the FC took another step and let her follow/hold on. When she fell, the FC put herself between our niece and the floor as a pillow, so the only thing that happened was my niece got a facefull of fur as she tumbled into our dogs body. I only wish I had been able to get it on video. Our FC has been gone for a 15 years now, but we still miss her and will remember all the patience she had with everyone. I hope your joy in your new puppy exceeds the joy we had with our FC and he becomes a huge part of your life and heart!

Puppies seem to recognize their forever people the minute they meet them. 4:00 Tucker goes to sleep, wakes up, looks around, yawns, "Yeah they're still here. I'm home."

Similar to when I got my 3rd dog from a adoption event. Cold day, she seemed confused for the brief moment she saw snow, carried her in her blanket on my lap, wrapped up, and I didn't move a muscle, just gently pet her and cried. My second dog I'd had to put to sleep a few months before, my first dog had been gone for years.

My wife and I have had three Goldens . Two we got as puppies 8 weeks and one was a rescue. Our puppy now is 12 years old. She was the easiest to train never went in the house from day one. The minute she wined we ran out the door sometimes 5 am. She is a trained therapy door and has visited hospitals and sat and had kids read to her at the library. These are the best dogs even at 12 she is ready to please and loves for the grandkids to visit. The best family dog.

@@larryprimeau5885 Probably spoken simply out of concern. Those are the basics of Golden Retriever care, which most first-time dog owners don't know about, which results in a dog with subprime health and a shortened lifespan. Without proper care, dogs don't automatically "do just fine". Pains the heart for knowledgeable dog-lovers.

He's darling. We have had two goldens over the last 20 years and our last one passed August 4, 2022. His name was Harley and he was almost 13 years old. I have thought about getting another Golden but probably not until this coming Spring. Tucker is so darling and quiet how sweet he is. My Harley didn't bark until he was 3 months old and I thought he didn't have a barker LOL Finally I started barking at him and he shocked me with a loud bark back LOLOL. They are very smart, fun all the time and ready to play day or night and they love their cuddles and their babies (toys) for sure. God Blessed you both for sure with a sweet little guy.

He died in my arms, staring at me, being told what a good boy he is, after a massive stroke or heart failure. I'm utterly bereft. But I want to add that the vet and staff were wonderful when I brought him in. Myerscough in North West England: thank you. I'll be picking up his ashes tomorrow.

8 weeks is desired but there are reasons it is sooner. I got a Golden puppy 3 weeks ago. The plan was for 8 weeks but there were 11 in litter and the mom got sore teats and was stressed at just under 5 weeks, so nursing and much exposure stopped. I got Amarillo at 6 1/2 weeks but I am home and he got lots of care and attention. I have a 9 year old Golden male and he loved the puppy and socialization was immediate. I had the puppy sitting, coming, and shaking at under 8 weeks. I have no doubt from the progress in 3 weeks that Amarillo got many more benefits from the time with me than being left unattended with 10 others in poop and pee for 6 hours every day for 2 weeks if I had waited.

Never buy from a breeder. Always adopt from a shelter. Thousands of dogs are euthanized each year. Shelters are scary places for dogs. Most of them are terrified and lonely. Too many have been abandoned by their pos human owners. If you can find it in your heart to look away and leave those dogs in the shelter, you don't deserve to be a dog owner, frankly.

Am sorry - only wished you had ADOPTED and be adoptive parents rather than BREED AND PAY FOR LIVES - I HOPE YOU COME TO REALIZATION ONE DAY AND STOP THE BREEDING AND SELLING OF ANIMALS ! Please use your channel to support ADOPTION - I HOPE AND PRAY THAT PEOPLE STOP BREEDING AND PLAYING WITH ANIMAL LIVES!

I’ve had four Goldens (2 boys & 2 girls) over 30 years….all different personalities but great companions. Boys definitely more ‘lively’ and needed more training. If you haven’t already take a look at ‘Beckmans dog training’ on RUclips: the absolute best on-line trainer, even though I’ve had four dogs I learnt a lot from Joel.
I’m sure you’ll both enjoy your ‘Retriever experience’🦮🇬🇧

We’ve had 6 Goldens over 25 years. We have them in pairs. I find males are more easy going and easy to train. They are just big and goofy and want to please. Females can be a bit moody at times and are a bit more stubborn in my experience. That said, Goldens are super easy to train in general - male or female. They are great dogs and really have a strong drive to please people.

Cute puppy but don't you have any care for the wonderful doggies, young and old, that live not a great life in a shelter where many of which will be put to death?
