In the series you will find that is the reason they are BABYMONSTER. The years of training that YG trainees goes through just to debut which is the reason that Chiquita is the exception. They are not trying to be mean in any way but to put them into real life situations so that when they debut, they will be able to handle the pressure and be professional. We saw it when they did their promotion for SHEESH. They didn't look like a rookie group and have been doing this for years.
While it was bad for Pharita to have the part taken away it was for a purpose. This is monthly evaluations and the group song is not the only thing that they have to worry about. They also have solo stages and a group dance stage that they will perform in the same month. The BLACKPINK missions was recorded in April 2022 which is episodes 1 - 4. Episodes 5 - 8 is recorded in May 2022. The reason that CHOICE 37 asked Pharita to change with Ahyeon for that part was not to be mean to her. In fact, he did mention that he knew that she would get it but also knew that the strain would cause her solo stage to suffer as well. Because it is that important for all of the member to perform well, CHOICE 37 made the right call as a producer and recognized that her performance would suffer if she kept continuing to force that part.
And I understand that it seem like these girls are under a lot of pressure (which they are), you also have to keep in mind that this is their goal that they wanted to achieve. The majority of the members have been going through this for around 4 years now, so it isn't something new to them. If you remember their introduction videos then you would see blurred faces around the group. Those were the trainees that wasn't going to debut with the group. When they go in as trainees, they know that they could be sent home at anytime if their performance or at least consistency to show improvement or if they are not getting along with the other members even if they are talented.
If you ever watched LIGHT UP THE SKY where they interviewed BLACKPINK about their trainee days and rise to the top. They talked about the training at YG and each month they had three stages that each trainee had to perform. Which means from the D-30 they have to practice their solo stage, group stage, and group dance stage in that month and get evaluated to see if they show improvement on the things that they were critiqued on the previous months. It is actually a good system if done right because it keeps the trainees in a safe environment where they can hear it from their producers and seniors where they would like to see improvement so that they are ready for the real world when they debut.

Now, the reason we all call Yang Hyun Suk "Papa YG" is exactly because of what you are seeing here. He is mean and very very very strict to his trainees because he doesn't want them to feel "pressured" by ANYTHING in the future when they become idols just like a dad will do to his children, it's not like he enjoys scolding them or putting them under pressure but it's because he's worried that if they face this situation when they're exposed to public, they might crumble under pressure if they're not prepared well enough. That's exactly why you can see how much respect YG trainees have over other agencies. Yes we feel bad for trainees but it's for their better future. You can actually see the results of this in BABYMONS7ER's japan fan meet come concert, they were about to dance on "As if it's your last" by blackpink and the music stopped not once but twice and naturally for a group who just debuted 2 months ago you'll imagine them to panic in front of 26k people but they didn't infact they handled situation like they've been doing it for a decade, they started singing Acapella of that song immediately as if it was nothing and this is the result of them being under constant pressure. Does it look good from outside to see them under pressure? No but does it make them the best version of themselves? Absolutely.

For us Baemons watching when the series First dropped we had to wait a week for each episode. It was a painful wait. But well worth watching. There is a set of live solo covers on YG enterprises channel that is where Baby Monster was First introduced to the world as YG Next Movement. That was when I first decided to become a Baemon 100%.

It's all real. They went through a lot of heartache to debut. It is a very difficult industry to succeed in, and it requires talent and toughness and flexibility. YG doesn't debut groups very often, and this is why. But the end result is always amazing. Babymons7er is the best of the 5th generation groups. People may like other groups more, but Babymons7er has more raw talent, combined with better training. They are amazing.

Glad you guys are reacting to this. I hope you complete all 8 episodes plus the member announcement. Although you already know they all made it to the group, still it was such a dramatic twist. This Last Evaluation is what got me into Babymonster. It gave me a glimpse of what these girls went through as trainees (I say glimpse because this is actually the latter part of their training days. They've been training for years before this, with Chiquita having the shortest training years).
These girls are just lovable. I hope more people will get to know and appreciate them.

No pretend here. This is reality TV with real reactions. The final 5 was actually already selected. It was Ruka, Asa, Ahyeon, Haram(Rami) and Rora. This 5 member group was showcased in a hip hop dance cover with the introduction live solo covers but they did not debut. Lisa from Blackpink who is from Thailand blew up the Thailand market into a mega market for YG. So it meant that Baby Monster had to have Thai members. They did auditions and found Pharita but still did not debut. The final piece was the discovery of Chiquita. And within 3 months YG was ready to launch. With less than a year of training the First live introductions dropped and Baby Monster launched. The Baby Monster project group had as many as 11 or 12 members that did include Chinese and American girls who did not make it. The Baby Monster project started 7 years ago when Blackpink first debuted. By this time of the final evaluations, the 5 girls have already trained for 4 to 5 years. Pharita with less than 2 years and Chiquita a year plus.
Thankfully, you won't have to worry about anyone not debuting. Because you now know that all 7 are Baby Monster, and they don't also show other trainees aside from them
Unlike other countries, many S Korean agencies do eliminate many trainees along the way for all sorts of reasons to get the cream of the crop for their final debut group.
In their Introduction video, you will see many more BM ex-trainees who did not debut with them. These girls were all eliminated.
It won't be altogether too shocking if any of these 7 trainees were eliminated along the way.
I was there every week on the dot when each episode dropped. Having to wait a week for the next episode was so difficult.

Guys, on June 9 the dance performance video of LIKE THAT is released for you to see, it is different from the EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO which was more focused on the visual than on the dance.
baby monster was going to have only 5 members but due to pressure from the fans YG decided to debut all 7 members, YG did not plan to debut 7 members because YG does not like such big girl groups, 2NE1 and BLACKPINK had 4 members and YG I wanted to continue with that tradition, but literally 99% of the LAST EVALUATION comments asked YG to debut the 7 girls, YG literally gave in under the pressure.
It was all a marketing ploy. Seven was already set prior to the show airing. The fans had no say. YG’s scheme to make fans feel involved and vested. Please don’t be so gullible to marketing manipulation.
Clearly the change up to take on an additional High range belter really only occurred during these final evaluations. Pharita and Ahyeon had trained for 3 to 4 years as mid range hip hop singer/ rappers. Haram(Rami) we know trained in the High range but not Ahyeon. I did think at the time that Ahyeon was put in quite a high risk situation. And unfortunately she did suffer a physical injury likely vocal damage and had to rest for a long period missing out on Batter Up, Stuck in the middle and Christmas without you cover. Fortunately she did recover and debuted in Sheesh.

Im sorry but u need to put away ur emotion for things like this. Always remember, "Tough time create strong people". Thats the whole system of the training. All the pressure/hardship they endured will strengthen both their physical and mental to face the "real world". The quality of BP and BM now are the result of those "Harsh" system. So, just chill and enjoy the show.
I’m a fan of the group but the last evaluation was simply a marketing ploy, a way to manipulate public sentiment and opinion. The whole show was geared to make Ahyeon and Chiquita the standouts. I felt very bad for Rami, Asa, and Rora. THE EDITING made them appear as the weaker candidates. They’ve been trainees for years and their talent already evident but the show incorporated unnecessary drama to create a narrative to their liking, like what they do in professional wrestling. Create a story line that will make standout stars
😡Stop selling tares, and what would YG gain from a false evaluation? nothing, LAST EVALUATION was an experiment by YG to find out if the fans accepted such a large girl group since YG did not know if 7 members would be accepted, also thanks to LAST EVALUATION we were able to see the group and individual talent of the girls.

The editors are the ones that pieces the show together. Of course, they will pick the most interesting and memorable parts to show.
In the last episode, Ahyeon probably had the least screen time and we all know how important the last impression of any show was.

Omg! How gullible! The storyline was predetermined like in professional wrestling where the promoters already know who’s going to be the star and who’s going to take the fall.
In ep1. Pharita took the fall to allow Ahyeon to shine.
Ep2. The whole group that performed “Stay” was purposely ridiculed to devalue their position in the ranking but Chiquita was still praised to maintain her good standing.
Ep.4. Ahyeon and Chiquita were ranked 1 & 2 respectively
Ep5. Chiquita was the cliffhanger
Ep6. Ahyeon was the cliffhanger
Ep.7. Ahyeon given the appearance of leading the group vocally. In interviews, it was stated that Rami was as much a leader as anyone. Was that shown in the episode? Of course not. It didn’t fit in the storyline.
Only in the final episode did Ruka, Asa and Rami become the standout but only because the storyline of Ahyeon and Chiquita had already been set.
Clearly the editior under YG’s direction established early on the narrative that Ahyeon and Chiquita were going to be the stars.
So stop being so easily manipulated. YG is a company that is trying to sell a product by creating an emotional attachment with the consumers. He portrayed the two protagonists having to overcome the “challenges” that fell before them 🙄 and prevailing as the audience cheered along. The whole show was exactly that: CONTRIVED!
