this is the best final fantasy people didn't recive it well when it first came out it was a mess. but know i can say this games is amazing am just mad they never finish it. the last chapter is on books only.
@@kmall87 This is my favorite FF after FF X Come to love this game over time more and more and the story is pretty good for a game thats not even finished.... But to be honest it never felt like theres something missing at least to me
@@kmall87 why would anyone fucking care about what other people think about video games. if you like this particular FF game more than any other FF game then that is, for you, the best game in the series. this could literally apply to any video game ever.
I agree it's incomplete. I think it was just way too ambitious to be completed, but unlike many other games you could say this about, this one's soul is intact. I've always felt it was one of the more underrated FF games, but I also understand why that's the case.
@@cosmiczeppelin it's the little things for me. Sure the story isn't well explained and the whole thing just seems thrown together by the astrals or bahamut or whatever as some crazy plot for no good reason, gameplay is iffy and the map seems like half of it was cut, but the impact the characters have on the experience as a whole trumps all of that. Camping at night with the boys, going fishing, grabbing food, taking pictures, all of it elevates the experience above what it honestly should be. Personal stories between well written characters that play off of each other makes you care about what happens more than some sacred duty and background lore. Final fantasy 10 had a similar feeling to it's ending but there wasn't as much character interaction in that game, so the goodbye's didn't hit quite as hard for me despite the game having a much better story.
If you want the true ending to this game, go read the FF XV Dawn of the future. Basically it is the true ending to FFXV Where Ardyn Luna and Noctis resist their fate and fight against bahamut because he is the cause of everything
It honestly has potential to be an incredible ending, but its impact is severely hampered by having next to no plot development until near the end. When the DLC and novels have more character development than the main game, that's a problem
40:50, this is srsly a totally underrated part of the game that doesn't get mentioned often, literally every streamer or gameplay i have seen has a GREAT time looking through all the picture and remembering the journey. They really nailed this part.
It really reminds me of an actual journey you take with your friends, looking back on it through your camera/phone and looking back at all the stupid fun shit your friends did. Imo This game really has the best “journey with your friends” feeling ive ever played.
No kidding. Like, you don't reflect upon this photo feature a whole lot the first time you play through the game, but when you're standing there, just about to confront Ardyn one final time, the ingenuity of it really sinks in... I accidentally overwrote my first playthrough savefile and was so distraught by it that I literally fished out out my PS4 backup, complete with my old savefiles, just so I could preserve that first journey.
seriously , can’t think of any other game that’s done something like this. I was blown away when i realized that all the pics i’ve been taken throughout the game ends up being memories irl and for the boys.
"Kill the Anti-Christ in a Dragon Ball Z fight, then commit suicide by casting Knight of the Round on yourself, so you can smuggle their weapons into the afterlife and kill him again" is an elaborately awesome way to save the world.
@@Gamer-g2v1r lol that would be great, end the family tree of links and zelda. Except you can't call it a tree because it has no branches. Yes I did indeed take that joke from flashgits. 100% would recommend ngl.
After journeying with these guys for so long, you really build a connection with them: the bond that they share becomes your bond as well and by the time you get to the ending, it hits you like a ton of bricks. I fucking cried so hard during the credits, especially with the music and the pictures going. And then the campfire scene, holy shit. Dead.
I fucking hated the game. I played it at release, it is an unfinished mess of a game, and even after all the patches it still is. The gameplay is bad, the story is bad, the performance (in PS4) is terrible. Even then, even then, I cried a lot during the ending, and I did again now. I love these 4 goofballs like you wouldn't believe.
The game has a lot of flaws, but the reason why this game is so beautiful for me in the end is when you reflect on how the game made you feel while you were playing it + the ending just solidifies it as an incredibly beautiful experience for me. The game is all about your journey through life with your friends and it's hard to realize that as you're going through it. But once you get to the end and you finally realize how much you enjoyed that bond you developed with them and the fact that it's all coming to an end, you realize how much fun you had experiencing the world and life with your boys. At it's core, this game is all about friendship and cherishing the journeys you had with those friends.
@Jonathan Fakhoury it was too rushed. They tried copying other expects of games like ff 7 to try giving it that since of loss feeling. You get that feeling but not from nocts girl dying. Plus they practically gave it away saying “this is the saddest ff yet” so you can only assume they’re probably gonna kill Noct too. It was all just predictable, sorry. Everything else in the game is fine imo. Just the pacing became way off towards the middle/end. Oh and the magic system sucked, sorry not sorry.
@Jonathan Fakhoury No you are, as you say, talking out your ass by providing your opinion as fact。 Also you should get better at understanding how RPG works because if you think magic is useless and grinding is required, then you are another who lacks strategy and understanding of mechanics- something that FFXV is also completely guilty of。 It is an easy game that one must try to fail at。 Magic is useless, getting better weapons and equipment is pointless and not needed, the so-called superbosses of FFXV require no strategy。 Also, telling somebody they are wrong for being disappointed with the "vanilla" version of the game- the supposedly completed product that released, is hilarious。 Sorry but since 1987 (I am from Japan), we have got "Vanilla" games that were feature complete。 Every Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest had the complete story from beginning to end and the game didn't have to be fixed afterwards。 I describe it as it is- FFXV had to be fixed and have content added after it's release and if you deny that, we can circle back around and cite you, yes you, as claiming that only playing the vanilla version of the game and judging it based on that is somehow a problem。 Why is that? Oh that is right, we circle back around to the reason: incomplete game with issues that had to be fixed, story details added, and some still broken up and released in other media which was also stupid。 FF without 坂口様 sakaguchi truly is an unmitigated disaster with the exception of FFXIV。 By the way, since you are very new to FF by my standards I should also explain that the idea of targeting all enemies for spread damage vs single, or あall allies for spread heal vs single, has been in more FF games than it has not so consider yourself corrected 毛唐。 I would not call the game getting good from midway to end instead of starting off as something worthwhile as "crazy"。 I'd call that another negative。 Why isn't the whole thing good? It should be, but it isn't。 That is shame。 The first 3 FF are not pure garbage, they are just beyond you and I don't think you westerners even originally got all the FF games。 FF MMO are not all the same- that is a laughable statement as FFXI and FFXIV play nothing alike。 You -would- know about being in the "shitpit of arrogance" wouldn't you? After all, you typed up your response to "C" from the very depths of one。 Also, nobody cares you are devoted to FF since you are 14, since by your own admission, the DS REMAKE of FF4 came out when you were 9。 A remake of a game that was already creeping up on 20 years old at the time。 You are way, way late to the party, even later because I know the west didn't get these games at the same time as we did and did not get them all originally, and your devotion and hubris comes from a very short podium。 Shameful。 I do not understand how one can claim devotion -weird in itself- to a thing and not know much about it and be so wrong like the statement about the MMO games above。It would appear more knowledge on the subject matter is needed if you really want claim this "devotion"。 You can reply to me but I will not read what you say nor trouble myself to speak to you again as it is time wasted beyond what is said above
One of the best final sequences of any FF game. From the fight against Ifrit to post-credit scene. Too bad so many people don’t give the recognition it deserves.
For me the game skyrocketed from "decent" to "amazing" after the fight with Leviathan. I didn't like the first half but the second half was so incredible dude... and that ending is just a masterpiece.
@@tequilawhiskey Ikr, when Luna died and gave Noctis the power I actually cried ngl, and the music made everything better. The fight was very easy though, but it just looked amazing and I can't complain 😅
I mean, I thought the first area of the game was boring as hell with no weight to the combat when it came out. FF16 combat looks like what they should have had for 15. Cut-scenes were wonky with time of day. Too much side-shit to pick up and do, keeping you in one area long after it's wore out it's welcome. Too long load times. Repetitive battle dialogue. I really don't like the magic system. Just straight up uninteresting characters at the beginning (not to mention it feels like I wasn't introduced properly to any single character or the world), which I'm sure improves greatly if you like the gameplay, but I didn't, so it was just 4 uninteresting guys who take forever to get anywhere regardless of fast traveling, and repeat themselves over and over during and after floaty combat. It's just the same dull shit over and over. But that's just like, my opinion based on limited experience and perspective, man. Different strokes for different folks.
I will never understand people's hate for this game. When the game ended and I saw the credits with the photos, I felt a lump in my throat as I held myself back from crying. I loved the brotherhood and road trip adventures. (1:03:44 pretty much same reactions I had)
Some people (like me, for example) had waited for FFXV ever since it was first revealed as Final Fantasy versus XIII back in 2006. We waited for 10 whole years for a game that changed so much over the course of its production that we basically never got the game we waited for... but that was still basically fine... What was significantly less fine was the incomplete state that the game was released in after those 10 years, the kinda messy and poorly paced plot, the content that Square had to cut because the game was just plain beyond what they could produce, and also their treatment of FFXV post-release... If the season 1 DLC had been a part of the day 1 base-game, then XV would at least have been a respectably good game... it would still have been a bit of a mess, but it might've become better with the season 2 DLC content... ... ...now, to be fair, I don't "hate" FFXV. In fact, I actually like it. But I'd be lying if there isn't a lot of frustration and resentment mixed in with those feelings... The worst part, I think, is that I can see clear glimpses how great FFXV could've been if Square had been able to realize their vision of what it was supposed to be. Seriously though, check all FFvsXIII and FFXV trailers; there's _a lot_ of stuff that got cut.
@@GrahamChapman What you say is 100% wrong. If you have waited for 10 years how come you didn't do some reading during those time about this game to see what's going on? The thing you say are similar to the things random clueless people say. I usually don't take the time to correct people because if you care the correct information is available on the internet. If you don't bother to read it why would I bother telling you right? Today I am in the good mood so I will share you what you should have known as a person who waited 10 years lol The game didn't change through the time what so ever. They wanted to make Final Fantasy XIII Versus after they released Final Fantasy XIII trilogy , they faced so many problems with the game engine they were working on and finally decided to cancel the game. The project got canceled. They started a fresh new project called Final Fantasy XV from ground up on a new gaming engine called Luminous with new dev team and new director. They used character models and few other things from the previous canceled project since they were very good but these two project are two completely different games with different story and world settings. Final Fantasy XV production itself was smooth without any problem. About the story of Final Fantasy XV: If you take the time to read his interviews he says that his vision was to put 100% of the attention of Noctis journey and what he was experiencing though his journey. there were few parts they had to show what's going on behind the screen so the story make sense but for the most part we see what Noctis sees and experiences and his brotherhood with his friends. If I was the director I would do things differently but I am not. It is Tabata's game and I respect his vision and decisions and in my opinion it works that's why almost every body cry at the end. As soon as Final Fantasy XV came out Square Enix announced Season Pass for future DLC. All DLCs are fans requested and are not there to complete the main game because the main game is already complete from Tabata's point of view . Each DLC has done by different directors and different musicians. This is the problem of people who post wrong information. They take the time to watch so random videos and read some random comments and take the time to respond and participate but all they say is wrong because what they say is either out of imagination or repeating what some other clueless people say. This game is a critically acclaimed game and won many many many awards around all over the world and it makes it clear whether this game is good or not.
I'd say what it lacked is that luna didn't have much screen time And we didn't able to explore the world after 10 years like what what happened to FF6 and we didn't see Iris, Aranea, and cindy in 10 years and it lacked interaction between luna and noctis like they didn't take in personal only in letters This FFXV has the potential to be one of the best but for me it was rushed Still A great game tho I really liked noctis as a character he really felt like human and not any other typical RPG heroes
@@mudamuda482 the problem is some people think THEY ARE the director of the game and imagining what they like to see in the game and if they don get what they imagine in their mind they start hating that game. Each person has his/her own opinion about story. I am not the director of this game, I would have done things differently if I was the director but I am not. You are not either. This game is Tabata's game and in order to understand his vision we have to look at things from his point of view. When I go to art gallery I ask someone who work there to tell me about each painting and what the painter wanted to show in each of them. After understand and look at that painting from pianist point of view I understand the painting better. As I said I have my own opinion but when I look at someone else work of art. I try to understand his vision and respect it. Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata says that he told the story from Noctis point of view and the things he experiences through his journey. that's the most important things he wanted to focused for people to see and feel. There were few parts he had to show what's going on behind the scene so the story make sense but for the most part we see and experience what Noctis sees and experiences. You mentioned Luna screen time was not long enough. As Tabata said we see what Noctis see and experience so that make snese because Noctis got separated from Luna when they were a child and all we see during the game is Noctis's memories of the past. Memories of the time Noctis and Luna were together and the things they said to each other. I have my own opinion and I could direct the game differently but I am not the director, Tabata is. I look the game from his point of view to understand his vision better. I have 100% respect for Tabata and his vision and appreciated for everything he has done for this game. If someone ask me about this game I only say good things because that's what I experienced.
Yeah the ending of this game made me tear up as well, the Bro-mance was the best thing built up in this game. Also the music was some of my favorite music in FF
Yeah.. It's so weird when the game gives you side quests you can only complete after passing a point of no return.. then you have to dream and travel back in time to finish the quest? WTF? Worse weird design ever.. they should just have removed those nonsensical side quests can only be done when using Umbra.. made zero sense. But I get.. given the development hell this game was I'm surprised it ever got done in the first place. It does feel very unfinished.
@@thiagovidal6137 Dude, it's just a gameplay mechanic. It's no less logical than games that let you just go back into the world after you've cleared it to finish up side quests even though your mission's over or in some instances your character isn't even alive anymore or games that have NG+ features that let you start from the very beginning again with everything you earned before. You're looking too hard into it. Using Umbra was a decent excuse to allow the player to go back and do unfinished content at least rather than giving no reasoning and just letting you go back even after *SPOILER ALERT* Noctis dies.
The base game was a bit unfinished to be honest (not much of a surprise given it's development cycle) but Royal Edition was a great way to "complete" the game if you will. I honestly had no regrets even buying the base game back in 2016 because even while it did come off as unfinished at times it still gave me a good story with lovable characters, one of the best villains in the franchise and fun combat and I got over 60 hours on my first playthrough. Royal Edition was what 15 always had the potential to be. It's not my favorite FF game but it's definitely in my top 5.
@@jeremycampbell4021 I just recently played the Royal edition for the first time a few months ago, and I will say this game is a solid package. It's unfortunate that it launched the way it did. I watched the prequel anime and the Kingsglaive movie, and the DLC closed story gaps and fleshed out Ardyn as a villain. It really made the plot and characters come together and I had a good time with the Noctis and his bros. It wasn't a perfect game, but I really liked it. The additional DLC and content outside of the game make you have to work for the satisfaction, but damn it's quite a ride.
It’s sad that the DLCs weren’t included in launch, because I think the game would have got more praise (at least in terms of story and characters). I really like FFXV, the boys remind me a lot of my good times in high school and college. I love the lore involved (like Ardyn, the night, etc.) and the gameplay.
@@DinDjarr1 it is clear that you are in poverty and have never played any RPG games in your life before.100% all rpgs games release DLC months and months after the game. go educate your self before barking
@J01789 I would agree, if Clive didn't then spend the next 6hrs of the game not able to prime into Ifrit lol So because of that, this one still takes the cake.
They really knocked the ending out of the park. This game could have been one of the best FF if they took more time to finish it before releasing. The vision is clearly there but the delivery just falls short. The characters are fantastic but important ones are underused (Lunafreya and her Brother) and there should have just been more with them and the Empire. Luna is set up to be one of the best FF heroines but we barely get to know her lol. I will always like this game despite it's flaws; ending always makes me tear up because the mc and his bros are just too good.
@Aer- The supposed fifth member of the group was supposed to be Cor, but so many changes took his importance out of the story’s dynamic. I feel bad for Cor, besides Lunafreya, Luna, and the Empire, along with some other characters, Cor was supposed to have a pretty important role in the story with our main fabulous four. I still love the game despite the fact that it could have been even greater and known as one of the best Final Fantasy games of all time behind VI, VII, IX, X and IV.
@@jerrym1218 I can see that, Cor is a really cool character too. I agree, I love the game but its unfortunate to think that it really could have been one of the best if it didn't stumble in places. Oh well, hopefully they won't make the same mistakes and if the main cast of characters of FFXVI are anywhere near as likeable as XV then it will be a great game.
This game is my first final fantasy game and I’m glad that it is because this game and story is phenomenal and left me to tears at the end . Such a masterpiece
Couldn’t think about this ending for a couple weeks without crying, seriously wrecked me. The game was rushed but the characters/bros were so perfect. Love them all. The pictures, my god the pictures! Couldn’t believe they brought them back in the end.
The gameplay wasn't the best, and I feel ff7 remake did it better, but I'd be lying if I said that the game didn't have an amazing ending and great character moments. I knownit didn't have the best reception, but I know it sold well, so im glad.
Royal edition was my first exposure with the game so I didn’t experience all the grievances ppl had with the base game, but man, i thought this game was incredible
Same here, finished it a few weeks ago and it got me to play all the other games after putting my FF7R playthrough on hold out of frustration with the combat. Now I'm playing through X-1 and FF7R and just having a blast. No matter what though... No other FF game will be as special to me as this one. The Royal Gang are the best crew in this series.
I love how the king of lucis is basically Knights of the round summon (atleast that what I immediately see when I see their character models and attacks)
I read the book that precedes this, and the true tragedy is what we could have had. But yes, I really appreciated that Maxx was emotionally wrecked as I was at the end of 15. I wept openly and sat in my chair for like an hour just thinking of the whole game.
Yoooo I played this game at launch. I had no idea Royal Edition added all this stuff at the end. This looks dope, gonna have to play it again. And it’s a small detail, but one of the last images you see as light returns to the world is the 4 chairs overlooking the bridge. That shot of the bridge is an homage to FF1 with the exact same perspective of a bridge. This shot can also be seen in World of Final Fantasy when visiting the location associated with FF1
Please, play more of this game! The DLCs added more perspective and made the game a little more complete. Sadly, there’s still a book on the rest of the DLCs…
One of my favorites of all time. Even the vanilla version before ANY additional fixes/content. THIS GAME FLOORED ME. Watching Max and other people enjoy it just makes my day!
I just finished this game like 24hours ago after shitting on it for being a 'lame boy band' game for YEARS, and ill be damned if the ending didn't hit me hard as hell in the heartstrings, i wasn't expecting it but i really really liked this game. also FATM cover of stand by me was heart wrenching and great.
@@kickhoppa5891 same lol I don’t even think another game has come close to making me cry like that except maybe Sarah at the beginning of The Last of Us.
The most tragic fictional tragedy I have ever been forced to endure. I will forever love this game and will forever hate the ending that took our boy Noct away T-T
This might be my favorite ending in Final Fantasy. Fuck, the photo reel at the end is such a fantastic touch. What an amazing way to commemorate each player’s personal journey!!!
You mean time management. But its not Tabata's fault. They had a deadline for 3 years to redevelop the game. And the game is playable as hell. And yeah, seeing how there's a dialogue for Aranea and Gladio during combat. Actual explorable world at the western country of Niflheim.
@@Tristan-mv6lc Yeah it's has literally nothing in it (Besides roads & trees) but it has all collision. Same with the train section with Sheva's corpse. They have a bunch of unused area's that would basically be complete if they had assets. Crazy thing is that stuff has been in the game since Vanilla 15 & they see only got around to finishing insomnia exploration with Royal edition & since the 2nd season pass was cancelled & compressed to a book. All the unused content will be left to time.
Saying that is probably the Hardest thing anyone can say in actual Japanese. The Culture there is so uptight that Expressing love or just "I Love You" at all overwhelms the senses.
I loved this game. I had a tight group of friends, it was my brother and 2 close friends and 1 of them passed away in an accident. I remember we took a trip to California together for the first time and we drove all the way from LA to Napa Valley for a Wedding and it was the most random adventure ever. FF15 reminded me all of those memories and emotions. Ill always have a special place in my heart for this game.
I praise thee, Algorithm...watching the Dood feeling the same way I did at the end of XV. Was it the best FF? No, no it isn't...but it still hit sweet spots and emotional peaks/valleys that left an indelible mark on me. I loved my roadtrip with the chocobros, it was a ride or die life...and for the 170 hours I spent with them, I wouldn't change a goddamn thing!
Probably not the best gameplay wise, and you can make an argument about the weird decisions they took. But they chose a theme, and follow through till the end. Everything in this game is designed to bump the "roadtrip with friends" aspect, from the opening, the "stand by me" song, to the picture mechanic payoff in the end, which was a very genious inclusion.
Your opinions lol. FF15 sits up there with the best for me. Plenty of final fantasy games came out that HAVENT been revisited or received tears. This game ended and left an incredible feeling that really isn’t forgotten. The game didn’t have to be perfect for me, it made me feel something. Something special and it was organic.
@@hartfantom nobody here was bashing the game dude. Just pointing out it’s got some flaws which is obvious to anyone who beats it but it’s still an amazing game.
I really love this game despite the flaws and problems it had, I was more connected with these characters than any other FF games I had played. Gotta love the part where you had to pick one of the pictures at the end, effing genius.
It wasn't the campfire scene that got me it was actually when the game ended the credits played the first drive when they were pushing the car then the song plays...that really fd me up
im really glad a streamer i watch, actually enjoyed ffxv, and got just as emotional as i did when i played it, thanks max for sharing your experience with me
Just finished this game. Holy shit, what a wonderful game. Absolutely amazing, terribly underrated. This is certainly in my top 5 FFs and easily the one that made me cry the most in the ending. Not even 9 or 10 made me cry as much as the last hour of this game.
Sadly the original release without the dlcs a lot of people played that and not the updated or paid dlc stuff so it left a bad taste for some of my friends. This is why I wished they released games when their ready and not just to sell.. I still think it's a unfinished game but still love it myself.
I will say, while I really wanted the DLC "Golden Ending" to exist instead of being made into a book that most are never to going to read or even know about, I'm still happy with the way they ended the original version. Such a powerful and emotional ending.
@Jonathan Fakhoury I read it. I liked it. My issue is that I wanted it in game form, not book form. But like I said before, I'm content with what we got.
This game was absolute shit without the Royal edition upgrade. This shit looks like a completely different game with the updated combat and extra stuff they added. Wish I had experienced this version first
@@nelzillaz Well, your entitled to your opinion, but I thought the game was fun at first, and got better with Royal. Of course, I saw all the movies and the little episodes they had for story. But as far as gameplay, it wasn't that bad, especially when you mix in the OP magic. Shit was cool. The open world was cool, but I wish there were more cities, but what was there was fantastic. The only real problem I had was I wish I had more interactions with the villains. Especially people like Ravis and Aranea. They definitely deserved more screentime. Lol
Thank you for uploading this! I never watch longform content but this ending is so peak. And your reaction through it all is the same as mine. Lets me relive it just by watching it like it were the first time. Best ending in FF for me and quite possibly of any RPG I've played. If you had asked me of my expectations halfway through the game I would have been dismal, but hot damn did they deliver in the final chapter. I'll never forget that.
This game is amazing idc what the haters say. It had such a beautiful story, and really made you fall for these characters. Come the ending I cried after going on this journey with these 4 friends
I finished this game years ago, and yet this song stayed with me. It was never about how you got their but the journey with friends. You had friends with you the entire way.
It's been nearly 4 years since I last played XV and the last campfire scene got me again. I played this game 3x in a row ending it with the royal edition. I absolutely love it. The DLCS are amazing expecially Ardens. I really hope Max plays Arden's dlc, you definitely see him in a new light. Amazing game ❤️
I just beat this game for the first time. Royal Edition. My god. Not many games have made me cry. Maybe a handful. 3 of those have been Final Fantasy, including this one. Damn.
1:02:33 hits waaay too hard, if you actually think about it a bit, with Noctis saying “it’s finally over”, he’s been destined a brutal fate and a forced end with him dying like the rest of the past Lucis kings making it like a tradition and him saying that is like he’s been waiting to be free from his curse of hardships and what he’s went through in the journey, man I swear these new FF titles kill me jnside emotionally like this and FFXVI now being here and fresh, they’re now so dark, mature and hits harder than ever and I love that they could bring that out with these new titles and I remember this finale like day 1 release since Nov 2016 🥲💔💔
The game may have a pretty shaky plot overall, but it somehow manages to have one of the strongest, most poignant endings of any Final Fantasy title to date, and that's legitimately an extraordinary accomplishment.
When his voice starts breaking in the last campfire they will ever have together, I had to fight the tears. Also making a Stand by me cover with the FF melody and Florence and the Machine was a genius move.
The campfire credit scene destroyed me completely. It was like screwing the sword inside my chest a little bit more, after a fatal hit. beautiful. And I already shed a tear, when they made me to chose a last picture. And I already was realy sad, when my beautiful regalia got destroyed. : ( And I was already in denial when everything started to go to hell after the leviathan event. Up until then it was a happy little game, fun driving around, fishin, cooking, fighting, leveling. Everything under control, everything acording to plan regarding a rpg game. And than boom... the princes dies (ok, happens from time to time) friends missing, friends loosing eyesight, more and more shit happening. It felt as if I was losing the control like sand betwen my fingers. awesome game! very underestimated. Also great music.
If you want the true ending to this game, go read the FF XV Dawn of the future. Basically it is the true ending to FFXV Where Ardyn Luna and Noctis resist their fate and fight against bahamut because he is the cause of everything
My imagination when reading the last part is so fucking good. Just imagine how Noctis gave the ring and the sword of Somnus to Ardyn. ardyn sits on the throne, did what Noctis did in the game and stabbed by Somnus and did Knights of the Round to Bahamut in the Beyond.
I will always remember this game for being an incomplete AAA game, my first FF game, but most of all, one of the only games to make me, at the age of 20 when I finished it, completely break down and phone my group of guy friends to let them know they're the best.
I knew all the pictures you took would show up during the credits and I still wasn't prepared to see those in combination with the ending and stand by me. I wept like a babe. 15 wasn't perfect especially the launch version I went through but I loved it anyway.
For my first mainline FF game, this game is fuckin incredible. Would have been cool if all the DLC was made but I still very much enjoyed the game. The finale was fucking amazing.
Fuck, I haven't seen the end in a good 3 years and this shit still fucking makes me bawl. The campfire scene is just incredible. Still crying while writing this. Whole fucking ending just destroys my heart.
This is a perfect example of why I love being a gamer. I don’t think a movie can replicate the emotional connection you sometimes have with characters like a great game like this.
I waited so long for that scene where the sun shines again. I was sitting through the credits like "How cool would it be if a light showed up on the center of this black screen". And then it happened.
A lot of games have a fantastic ride, but not many have such a fantastic ending. Will always remember the day I finished this game and the subsequent week it took me to recover
My take on that last campfire scene during the credits: When Ignis says it's been "an eternity" since the last time they sat around one, it's because Noctis is long passed and now his three friends...each in their own time...has joined him in the afterlife. And only then does he finally get the chance to tell them what he never got to in life.
First time I played this game and had to choose a photo right before the final fight, I chose the one I had of iris because I had a crush on her. A photo of just iris. And then that last scene when noctis and luna sat together and gazed at this photo of iris....lmao immersion breaking.
By the end of FFXV develop cycle with all the movies, anime,Royal edition and everything this was actually a great fucking game. I would say is the best FF since 9

agreed but the game is mediocre with great moments here and there.
No kidding. Pre-patch or post, you can't deny how powerful this ending was.
A sadly incomplete game that probably has one of the strongest finishes of any FF game out there.
For what its worth, I don't blame Tabata one bit. I still think its a shame the last batch of dlcs got cancelled.
The way they used Prompto and his photos is genius.
It took me a full hour to chose my picture. Such a great moment!

@@user-uv4wn2xx7o well some people also didn't cry when Mufasa died but that aint the norm :3
@Jonathan Fakhoury No you are, as you say, talking out your ass by providing your opinion as fact。 Also you should get better at understanding how RPG works because if you think magic is useless and grinding is required, then you are another who lacks strategy and understanding of mechanics- something that FFXV is also completely guilty of。 It is an easy game that one must try to fail at。 Magic is useless, getting better weapons and equipment is pointless and not needed, the so-called superbosses of FFXV require no strategy。
Also, telling somebody they are wrong for being disappointed with the "vanilla" version of the game- the supposedly completed product that released, is hilarious。 Sorry but since 1987 (I am from Japan), we have got "Vanilla" games that were feature complete。 Every Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest had the complete story from beginning to end and the game didn't have to be fixed afterwards。 I describe it as it is- FFXV had to be fixed and have content added after it's release and if you deny that, we can circle back around and cite you, yes you, as claiming that only playing the vanilla version of the game and judging it based on that is somehow a problem。 Why is that? Oh that is right, we circle back around to the reason: incomplete game with issues that had to be fixed, story details added, and some still broken up and released in other media which was also stupid。 FF without 坂口様 sakaguchi truly is an unmitigated disaster with the exception of FFXIV。
By the way, since you are very new to FF by my standards I should also explain that the idea of targeting all enemies for spread damage vs single, or あall allies for spread heal vs single, has been in more FF games than it has not so consider yourself corrected 毛唐。
I would not call the game getting good from midway to end instead of starting off as something worthwhile as "crazy"。 I'd call that another negative。 Why isn't the whole thing good? It should be, but it isn't。 That is shame。
The first 3 FF are not pure garbage, they are just beyond you and I don't think you westerners even originally got all the FF games。 FF MMO are not all the same- that is a laughable statement as FFXI and FFXIV play nothing alike。
You -would- know about being in the "shitpit of arrogance" wouldn't you? After all, you typed up your response to "C" from the very depths of one。 Also, nobody cares you are devoted to FF since you are 14, since by your own admission, the DS REMAKE of FF4 came out when you were 9。 A remake of a game that was already creeping up on 20 years old at the time。 You are way, way late to the party, even later because I know the west didn't get these games at the same time as we did and did not get them all originally, and your devotion and hubris comes from a very short podium。 Shameful。 I do not understand how one can claim devotion -weird in itself- to a thing and not know much about it and be so wrong like the statement about the MMO games above。It would appear more knowledge on the subject matter is needed if you really want claim this "devotion"。
You can reply to me but I will not read what you say nor trouble myself to speak to you again as it is time wasted beyond what is said above
This isn't just a character driven story...

The only redeeming aspect of this game in my opinion
One of the best final sequences of any FF game. From the fight against Ifrit to post-credit scene. Too bad so many people don’t give the recognition it deserves.
For me the game skyrocketed from "decent" to "amazing" after the fight with Leviathan. I didn't like the first half but the second half was so incredible dude... and that ending is just a masterpiece.

Because its a horrible hodge-podge of an unfinished game. It still pisses me off that I pre-order digitally this game.

If you don't bother to read it why would I bother telling you right? Today I am in the good mood so I will share you what you should have known as a person who waited 10 years lol
The game didn't change through the time what so ever.
I'd say what it lacked is that luna didn't have much screen time
And we didn't able to explore the world after 10 years like what what happened to FF6 and we didn't see Iris, Aranea, and cindy in 10 years and it lacked interaction between luna and noctis like they didn't take in personal only in letters
This FFXV has the potential to be one of the best but for me it was rushed

True, and the ending is a cinematic masterpiece.

This game is amazing. I love it.
Man, it would’ve been so much more…
But god dammit I’m down
A lot of things wrong with the game but one thing they did so right was the bond between the bro's and the music!
Saying that is probably the Hardest thing anyone can say in actual Japanese. The Culture there is so uptight that Expressing love or just "I Love You" at all overwhelms the senses.
Its ashame they released this too early, at this state im sure it would have received better praise
I’m so sad it looks like Max forgot about how strong this game is as the time goes by. This is such a great game, such an unseen gem
@@gdadder uuuuuhhhhh, I never said you were bashing it tho lol. So where did you get that from?
Every single FF is masterpiece. Each of them has its own beauty. I don't compare them and I am not looking for the best FF. I love them all.
I really love this game despite the flaws and problems it had, I was more connected with these characters than any other FF games I had played. Gotta love the part where you had to pick one of the pictures at the end, effing genius.
after all these years Max has still never cried this much at any game lol
It wasn't the campfire scene that got me it was actually when the game ended the credits played the first drive when they were pushing the car then the song plays...that really fd me up
gives me chills, the music is amazing
im really glad a streamer i watch, actually enjoyed ffxv, and got just as emotional as i did when i played it, thanks max for sharing your experience with me
That ending man, every time.
Every time
Man, when the FF Main Theme starts and the photograph appears, I cry every single time.
Weirdly enough, this game is super underrated
Its because its incomplete
when you walk into the throne room and see the corpses hanging there, one of them is actually the MC from the FFXV movie!
I hate that he turns his camera off. I'm here for his reaction to the game.
@Jonathan Fakhoury I don't really know what you mean by sudden switch.
Finding out that the MC of Kingsglaive was one of the characters Ardyn had hanging up broke me even more
"Remember the Super Saiyan blue goat thing we ran into?"
Me watching this video without seeing the other streams: The *_w h A t_*
The game was absolutely fantastic. Even better with Royal edition!
Lol
This is honestly so fucking cool to see all these new bosses at the end of the game, makes me wish I waited and played it later.
hands down best game ever, Noctis is the fucking man
Thank you for uploading this!
"You guys are the best" *Dies from tears*
Absolutely love this game, glad to see he enjoyed the version of this so much. Cheers
And I was already in denial when everything started to go to hell after the leviathan event.
It's not the true ending, it's just a alternate universe thing
I remember people complaining about "Stand by Me" being in the opening... they were not ready for the change of context hitting them in the credits.
I will always remember this game for being an incomplete AAA game, my first FF game, but most of all, one of the only games to make me, at the age of 20 when I finished it, completely break down and phone my group of guy friends to let them know they're the best.
That final campfire scene is 100% one of the best acted scenes in all of videogames. Absolutely incredible.
This game isn't well recieved but I love this game. I'm glad you liked it too.
If only I had known the game was this hype, I would have bought it right away when it came out
Well it wasnt now that all the updates and patches are out i can saw its worth a buy since its aleays gonna be on sale due to people hating it
no the dlc add some hype moment. it better that way.
Its crazy cause I knew noctis fate at the end and I still teared up
One of the best Final Fantasies, I'll gladly die on this hill. The peak of FFXV is higher than the peaks of most FF's
My Favorite Final Fantasy game of the main line. 460 hours into it and I still love playing it.
Oh this was his first time playing it?! Sweet, imma have to head back and start from the beginning then.
I knew all the pictures you took would show up during the credits and I still wasn't prepared to see those in combination with the ending and stand by me. I wept like a babe. 15 wasn't perfect especially the launch version I went through but I loved it anyway.
the first time i played this game it was the royal edition. Amazing game and i'm glad i waited to play it.
49:32 "Even were the dawn to break now...
It would only bring the horrors to LIGHT"
*Lightning strikes*
God that was badass.
A lot of games have a fantastic ride, but not many have such a fantastic ending. Will always remember the day I finished this game and the subsequent week it took me to recover
I will always love this game! The character relationships are some of the best in any video game ever!
My take on that last campfire scene during the credits: When Ignis says it's been "an eternity" since the last time they sat around one, it's because Noctis is long passed and now his three friends...each in their own time...has joined him in the afterlife.
And only then does he finally get the chance to tell them what he never got to in life.
Best games i can remember Mario 64 , and FFXV ...only games that made me want more of that world, while being satisfied .
Facts!
Despite of its flaws and a very conflicted development of the game i think FFXV was a badass game and i loved every second of it
First time I played this game and had to choose a photo right before the final fight, I chose the one I had of iris because I had a crush on her. A photo of just iris. And then that last scene when noctis and luna sat together and gazed at this photo of iris....lmao immersion breaking.
By the end of FFXV develop cycle with all the movies, anime,Royal edition and everything this was actually a great fucking game. I would say is the best FF since 9
I feel it could a least be one of the best if they doesn't have made so many bad descision
@@theflashgordon193 100% agreed with you. If they didn't picked apart the story in multiple media sections movies, anime, dlc, game demo and other "universe" stuff this would be at lot better
I still hate how he kept removing his facecam during every cutscene. Like, if I'm watching someone play a game, I'm here to see their reactions to it, not just, watch the game.
You are a freaking legend bro
