Lucy got her name by combining the first syllables of Rudy and Sylphie's names. Ru/Lu + Cy/Sy, it looks a bit confusing in English, but it uses the same katakana.
I think the "armored warriors" were more like living armor. There isn't anything in there. A small detail I picked up on is that the labyrinth having 6 floors is a bad omen. With six being an unlucky number in this world. Unless you count the boss room as a 7th floor, which would be a lucky number for them.

Volume 12 is not my top5, however chapter “Carnage” is still my favourite in whole series, I reread it multiple times, and every time I like it more and more.
I haven't watched season 2 but did watch season 1. I do think that it is a good adaptation but I did think that somethings where better in the light novel.
