My dear friend, I used your recipe. Very hard to get the skins off. I didn't have bi-carb, but I now wonder if the bi-carb helps with removing the skins. Thank you.
I have never had something like that, I used many types of chickpeas and it always peels off easily, even with the canned ones they peel. I don't think soda is the issue, maybe it's not cooked well?

Try a pressure cooker :) saves time! I use it when I'm in a hurry.
