    I got it on Ebay. Just measure the distance first because not all handlebars are same shape and look for it there. It will come to you in few days...no hassle. I paid about $30 for it. Good luck.
    Mine was I think 33 inches

      They were on eBay used... don't know the brand...sorry. They are made for Harley Davidson , so I would just keep looking for Chubby handlebars until you find the shape you like...new ones are expensive...about $250...so used ones are way cheaper... I've had these powder coated gloss black...they where rusted when I got them...hope this helps...thanks for watching my video and please subscribe...it will help me out 🙂

    How about the throttle brake and clutch cables? Did you have to replace those with longer ones. Prob a dumb question, but I'm really wanting to put ape hangers on my 2002 vstar 1100 but the line and cable kit is like$400

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  5 лет назад +1

      If you go with 12 inch apes you will be OK with the throttle and clutch cables...just have to re-rout them. Also the wiring for your switches is normally fine. You always have to replace the brake line, but that would only cost you about $50 plus the handlebars. If you want to do 16 inch apes you will most likely need to replace everything + extend all the switches wiring. Every bike is little different but I use the 12 inch mini apes a lot and love them on most bikes. You can get used OEM Harley ones online from Street Bob model or some newer Heritage Softail models have them. Thanks for your interest and please subscribe to help me out. Good luck!

    Do it yourself motorcycle repairs i know you've probably already answered this but I have an 03 roadstar silverato with factory bars I would like to take it to 14 or 16 inches i know ill have to buy a brake cable and extend my wires but can it go to the length needed with all other factory cables. Also if I need to buy brake cable how do I find the length?

    • @terryreinhart9400
      @terryreinhart9400 3 года назад

      You don't need a brake cable, you will need a longer brake line, fluid line. I replaced my factory brake line with a 8+ one, then ran all the other cables behind the triple tree, instead of in front of it. You can do this with up to 16" apes on factory risers. You will have to extend the wiring like this video explains.
      On facebook there is a group called Road Star Clinic, has all the information you could ever want about your Road Star there. There are also members that fabricate parts for the Road Stars, its a great group. This video is great to give a visual to the process, one step at a time.
      If you need an 8+ brake line, talk to Raymond Chan, he's a member there. He made my brake line and made them for many other members. Top notch...

      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  4 года назад

      I don't have the RoadStar near to measure it...you should be able to tell if you measure your stock risers widest point. I am 90% sure it will fit because the handlebars in my video are made for Harley also...Thanks for watching and please subscribe it will help me out 😀

      eBay...the ends are 10mm on both sides and measure the length...just enter motorcycle steel beaded brake line to search window and bunch of stuff will come up...select the length you want and the correct angles on the banjo fittings...for example straight on the handlebar side and 90 by the caliper...you just got to search for it...you decide what will looks the best for your application...thanks for your interest and please subscribe...it will help me out 🙂
