The Problem with New Jeans

New Jeans are a group of remarkably talented young girls, with amazing songs. Yet with each comeback, their talents seem to get overshadowed by a new scandal. I just wanted to talk about how consistently New Jeans enters scandals, and why the scandals keep escalating in severity.

100% agree. I didn't like the members of the group being so young and wouldn't want to financially support this growing trend but the marketing makes it even worse. In a perfect world they would've waited to debut them until they were older but since they didn't I would've hoped that the label would try to at least make their music/concepts as appropriate and uncontroversial as possible. Maybe slightly fewer releases so they can go to school and everything. But this outrage marketing tactic is just so scummy and I hate that instead of protecting the girls (who probably have to deal with enough by just being public figures at such a young age) the company stirrs up controversy just to profit of them. And the worst thing is that it's entirely unnecessary. They will make tons of money nonetheless

Don't judge me: The other day I looked up randomly if Danielle wore butt pads cuz in 1 performance it was just noticeable so I googled if she wears them, no big deal. HUGE mistake! I was taken to SoooOo many disgusting reddits and posts making the girls p0rn stars with entire fantasy plots of the girls being together s€xually. It went on and on and it was like an endless rabbit hole of perversion. That's what worries me most.

It is they were minors and debuted with a double meaning song to give their "cookie" to the fans, the old fans that go to their fans meetings... And many that would maybe love to be in Epstein island... Yep, nothing wrong. Really, I refuse to treat their fans or them as dumb.

I especially wanted to add at how good this company is with turning its markets against each other remember when RVelvet made icecream cake I believe ? It was saying the English translated Ver. Was sexually intended with lyric full of innuendos in English whilst Korean and Asian fans said it wasn’t . Well both sides were right . The same thing happened with cookies when Korean fans said it didn’t mean something sexual to them it was interpreted as giving a boy you like a cookie while the original Ver. (English as well as translated) suggested something completely otherwise . I remember the shock and arguments each fanbase put up , international and domestic when they couldn’t reach an agreement when technically both was right it was just more shocking towards the market they either aim to (western). I believe min heejin was the director for sm during ice cream cake as well !! When this type of one-sided shock marketing happens these groups gained both protection domestically (Asian fans protecting new jeans from harsh criticism that were truthfully so when translated ) and western fans becoming defensive in their beliefs. It confuses both and get them media play in both markets .
Again I will say this growing up in a particular black household. They way black people used cookie in the US may be different. Cookies means a female sexual organ .
My mother would say this as a censorship so it wouldn’t be inappropriate. When learning about seggs at a young age my mom would explain birds and bees using “cookies” “she would say never give your cookies away meaning your female genital” / virginity.
If we speak technically I’m new jeans English translation or ver. It’s specifically speaking about the young TEENAGE girls giving away their cookies to a boy . The girls proceed to say they could have it anyway the boys like by adding chocolate chips , sprinkles and chocolate etc . Insisting to the boys by basically say it they could have them anyways possible like for example seggs positions , lingerie etc . The girls in the song also say to the boy to take a bite insinuating oral .
I also want to point out the tone they sing this in .. the producers chose this as a “r&b” track to mask the way the sing it in a whiny tone .
For Asian fans this song would be interpreted as a girl meeting a boy and giving him cookies she baked as a love sign .
But for western fans it shows a girl losing her v-card and or trying to please a boy using her body .
Again it’s normal for teens to do seggsual acts at that age hence we have that “talk” but to use actual teenager to do so ? To create shock in the western base and get coverage was so bizzare ..
