If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.
0:50 Looking at Google street scene history, it was a short commercial building at the end of 2018 and then demolished in 2019. In 2021, it was being constructed into a highrise condo called the Park Origin. But now it looks like it will be a new IC hotel.
Still very much enjoy your videos!! Bangkok was not even on my radar for retirement. It was strictly Pattaya. Your videos have definitely given me something to think about. I feel like I can find a great apartment in Bangkok (courtesy of the areas you have explored) and just visit Pattaya when I want. Thought I might ask a question and maybe you can help. A little off topic... If I am retired in let's say Bangkok and my credit cards expiration date comes due will my bank in the US send me a new credit card to Bangkok? I have tried googling it, but just can seem to put my finger on an answer. Any thoughts would be appreciates. :o) Thanks... Jeff
Bangkok is great. Like others have said, you can try both spots. Many people live here a year, and then Pattaya 6 months. Or Hua Hin or Chaing Mae. I'm a big city guy, so I like Bangkok for now. I've talked about cards in a few videos. It's hit or miss. Chase will UPS you a card. Bank of America won't even mail you a card. Those are the only ones I tried. I believe my credit union Navy Federal mails international. Get all new cards before you move over. Tell them it's demagnitized, etc.. that will give you 4 years. It's best to use a friend or relatives' address. Worst case, the card goes there, and they slow mail it to you. Expect 30 days mail. There are also mail services in Florida, Vegas, etc. For a fee, you get an address for zero state tax, and they take a picture of the letter. They'll mail over whatever you require. Things always change, but Chase credit cards are easy to get today. I had a Bank of America Alaska card compromised. It had 3 years left on it. I told them I'm on a long trip and needed the card UPS over. She said that for security, she could not do that. I asked if it could be mailed in regular mail. She said only to a US address. I asked for a supervisor, and she said the same thing. That's crazy to me. What if you were on vacation and you lost a wallet. I always have backup cards in separate spots, but many people don't. I said I put 10k on the card a year and need a new one. They said no. I said close the account, please. Hope that helps
@@EagerExpat Huge help!! Thank you for taking the time to write that thorough response. Sounds like I will get a card from Navy Federal. I have a few branches near me. Also will take your advice and get new cards before I make the move. Like the demagnetize excuse. Thanks for doing all the Bangkok leg work for us viewers.

Good info. I looked at the Patk Origin on Soi 22. The IC near Chitlom is nice
I truly enjoy your videos. They help me decide where to stay when visiting. You're awesome. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for watching. My kid lives in NYC. Great city. I often say Bangkok reminds me of New York with 1980s prices
Some of those high rises look awesome, amazing how quick they go up too.
Some beautiful buildings, that's for sure

Good deals in top view towers 91 sqm two bedroom 22k asking
22k for 91m would be an incredible deal. Most 91m condos are 50k or more
2 bedroom and two bathroom and 1 living room as well
I have seen a agent post it today in FB
But when I searched in dd properties it was 30+

Yes, I finally saw the sign
