Same. First move I tried for the reason you mentioned, it worked. I reckon he should focus more on how to find the good move (like you did) instead of focusing on brute-force ruling out bad moves.
'easy' is relative to how long one spends looking for it. If by easy you mean 10 seconds, then no, it is no easy. If by easy you mean 10 minutes, then yes. It's all relative
I saw the qe5 move almost immediately, but for wome reason I just couldn't see how kh8 led to mate for a little while. I kind of completely forgot that the pawn was pinned, so rxh6 just evaded my gaze. I did catch it eventually though.
I need to find the program your using to play out these boards, because all I could figure out in my head were all the ways things went wrong. Ah well, I still feel like I'm (marginally) improving.
It’s actually quite a pretty problem considering the small number of pieces. Quite often experience helps in solving these 2 movers, i.e. check is almost never the first move, so can be dismissed as an option straightaway, whereas one would never do that over the board. While I got this one fairly quickly (because I’ve seen similar themes like it in the past), I must admit technically as simple 2 movers I only solved simply by doing every plausible move and a process of elimination. So I’m on your side here.
@@andreasboe4509 Thanks for your polite reply. Yes, the look for under promotion to a Knight is a favourite theme employed by problem composers. Just knowing that can save a lot of time. I once had a group of students who were quite good at solving 2 move chess problems, to the point where they became quite arrogant. I meanly slipped in a problem by Sam Lloyd where the only way to solved the problem was under promotion to a Bishop. It took the students a while but to their credit they solved this problem.
Dont I always say - you bring out the best puzzles no matter whether they seem easy or not. And there is no denying that we learn something from each puzzle. Thank you very much and God bless you.
I don't know which is more satisfying, solving the puzzle quickly as I did this one, or beating my head against the wall only to fail in the end. I do know that I have far more experience with the latter.
A knowledge of the common mating positions helps with this one. That allows you to see that White can abandon his rook because if Black captures it, Qf5 mates on the second move.
Looked at white could do and moving the queen sideways two places was not good. Then looked at what black could do and the problem was solved easily. Move the queen sideways but three places.
This time I saw the key move at once. All three options black has afterwards lead to his downfall. But a great puzzle nevertheless. Thanks a lot! Carry on! 😊
You said easy, but I couldn’t find it.
Well keep practicing then you goof :p
Very hard yes, took me 10 min to find....
Thanks a lot - learn something new every time 👍
Solved this one 🎉 but it took some thinking to get there. Thanks.
I always like zugzwang problems. I think they are called "blockade" because you dont theat anything but anyway...
Very nice! Got it by looking for a way to pin the g7 pawn if the king moves to h8, which meant there was only one candidate move.

Sure I did, I only forgot that the move leaves the rook unprotected. But that provrd not to be a problem either
Less than 10 seconds, easy peasy

Q-E5 , any move black is mated next.

I missed the mate in 2 commentary, so i quit looking after seeing Qf5 wins
Honestly, I was about to give up on this one. I kept going because “c’mon! He said easy!” So…I found it! :)
Again, not so difficult. I like these! ;)
Pre-emptive pin the only move to deal with unprovided Kh8 so not difficult solving, but a fair achievement in miniature. Original?
Simplest of all puzzles. Solved in 5 Sec Q e5
Solved😊
My answer
Qe5
1. … Kxg6
2. Qf5#
1. … h5+
2. Qxh5#
1. … Ra-h8
2. Qxg7#
1. … Kh8
2. Rxh6#
Qe5 .. everything else is mate
I thought that one was pretty easy to find
Got it in about ten minutes.
Move back the queen
Yep, easy one, thankfully to your other studies :)
Solved it!
I got the right first move, but totally missed two of the counter moves. Half-correct for the day.
I found the right move but didn't see KxG6 hahaha
I sacrificed the rook unknowingly...
I guess I need to get better
Yessss; I actually solved this one & all the other options that were detailed. Thank you.
Got it :)
It was not easy sir😂
Took a couple of minutes but I found the first move and all the following lines. Neat little puzzle! 👍👍
Good🎉❤
Beautiful. I didn't find it even after five minutes of hard thinking.

@@csbenzo The first thing I try with two-movers is underpromotion to a knight, which is quite unnatural in most situations.

Great
Nice easy way to start my morning!
Did not get it :(, so hard
Yes, it was easy. I
Pretty easy. I naturally thought of Qf5 first but quickly saw that it did not work. Saw the correct solution about one second later.
Very enjoyable, thanks

Qe5
Thank you for the easy puzzle. I finally solved one with all of the lines.
Simple. I was nearly as fast as the computer.
This must be an easy one: I solved it myself. I had to think a bit, though.
Easy

Move the queen sideways but three places.
Í like this one as I got the answer........
99.9% sure but going to post this if I was 100% right LoL
Tbh you should just make 10 minute videos everytime to fk with people. Make the waiting time 7 minutes long or so 😂
I found it. Ergo, it must be easy!
you were right, it was pretty easy, but I liked it!😊
An easy one. Thanks :)
5 seconds! I never solved a 2 moves mate so quickly
First one i solved by my own, even though i missed at first that the king can just capture the rook after Qe5 lol
I solved this one! A nice puzzle, and a nice way to start the day!
This time I saw the key move at once. All three options black has afterwards lead to his downfall. But a great puzzle nevertheless. Thanks a lot! Carry on! 😊
You are just getting these out of a book. Can’t you set your own puzzles ?
