There's a reason why it is tied with my favorite game of all time, and I would most certainly say it is my favorite Wii game ever made.
Sakura Wars: So Long My Love is a hybrid Dating sim/strategy RPG set in 1920’s New York that has you fighting alongside a troupe of broadway actors - who are also mech pilots - against the forces of evil. It’s unlike any other game I’ve ever played, and the definition of a hidden gem. It’s expensive tho...
You noted a lot of my favorite Wii hidden gems. Considering the infamous vast amount of shovelware on the platform, a lot of them still remain hidden to many.
Some of my favorite Wii games were WiiWare exclusives, such as Mega Man 9-10, Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth, Contra Rebirth, and Gradius Rebirth. Really hope to see Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth in a future Castlevania collection!!!
@@edm5100 I've always found games that we're separate versions from other platforms quite interesting since they do have to very much build these games from the ground up fit the hardware and a lot of the time it's often with the help of another studio.
Exactly at the moment when my girlfriend and I found her old Wii in the closet, Metal Jesus made a video about his collection of Wii Games. Thank you! We will try.
I got Dead Space Extraction at a local game store for $3 about 6 years ago. It was labeled as "Very Scratched" but the disc was in perfect condition with only a rip on the front of the case. Score!
Nice to see another owner of Opoona! It's truly one of the best games for the Wii, especially if you're a huge fan of something like Earthbound since it has that similar charm with its atmosphere.
I was late with Wii, started collecting games when I bought WiiU just after Switch came out, have about 60-70 wii games and still finding games, your videos really helped for finding hidden gems and games I never heard of. I don't really play on it as much anymore but Iove playing Ghost Squad and Sin and Punishment every now and then.
I highly recommend picking up Conduit 2 if you get the chance. The first game is certainly generic like he said, but Conduit 2 is actually really good and worth adding to the collection.

Wii is all about homebrew for me. Loading up a ton of Wii and GameCube ISO’s on an external hard drive is some of the most fun you can have on a CRT TV. Retro stuff, virtual console, so many import games, a few good Wii games, there is a ton of stuff it can play.
It's too bad Klonoa is so expensive now. One that's definitely on my wishlist. Always love seeing Sin & Punishment get mentioned as more people need to check it out. Great video as always!
I am a massive fan of the Wii; totally different yet really intuitive controllers. The Metroid Prime series was excellent and Super Mario Galaxy changed platforming to something original, inventive and such a lot of fun to play with so much packed into it. Really enjoyed Mad World, Rayman Rabbids (which has many hours of a few of us playing) amongst many others. I found it difficult to go back to standard controllers, remembering the button layout and was just really separating from the game itself.
best part of resident evil 4 for wii is assignment ada and separate ways were BOTH included. no more heroes also taught me what a bullet hell game was, because when you're at travis' house, you can play the 1 game he's got.
The Wii is so slept on its crazy. It got a reputation as THE shovel ware system, but it really has a ton of awesome games. Glad you highlighted the light gun stuff, Metal Jesus. Wii has no shortage. Conduit is one of my favorites
The Wii is such an amazing console that I foolishly discounted when it was new and rediscovered much later. So many great and interesting games which are mainly cheap to buy. One of the greatest consoles ever. Great video 👍
@@tampabaytradeday786 I came to recommend Target Terror, and while I have Gunslingers, and it's decent, it's not on par with TT or Ghost Squad. TT gets some hate, but it's cheesy on purpose. For instance you can tell the hidden terrorists because they always wear sunglasses. Because only bad guys wear sunglasses haha. It's very tongue in cheek.
So pleased for Pandora's Tower to get a mention here. I know, it's not a perfect game, but as MJR said, it has its own unique style. Wish there were more games trying to be different like this. Given that it was released at the end of the Wii's lifespan (just before the Wii U was released), I don't think it did very well in terms of sales. Chances of a HD remaster are pretty unlikely, but I'd like one none the less.
@@sproston33I know right - both this game and The Last Story were overshadowed by Xenoblade Chronicles I suspose (and it got delayed too I think, so bad timing). For me, Pandora's Tower really shows that videogames can be an art form. I hope it makes a re-emergence in the future.
@@Mr.Foxhat This is the only game that I've got a digital and physical copy of - that's how much I love it. (I wanted the digital copy to allow use of the Wii U Gamepad). If you're looking to get a physical copy, get it while you can - prices are rising all the time. I was lucky enough to get mine just after launch for close to the equivalent of $35. The digital version is cheaper, but there is something special about the physical release. I am less familar with the US version of the game, but in the UK, it's in a black case with great cover art and even a manual! (Those were the days!) There's even a limited edition too, but unfortunatley, I don't own a copy - they are pretty expensive now.
As a grown man I should never say, " I still play with my Wii ", or ask for Horsey Sauce at Arby's. I am glad that I kept my Nintendo Wii, it is an underappreciated video gaming treasure.
1 of my favourite implementations of wii controls was in pro evolution soccer (can’t remember which year). What that game did was allowed you more control of your team than probably any other soccer game I’ve played before or since. 1 of the best things was you could grab a player who didn’t have the ball, point to where he should run to and the player with the ball would try to pass to that location. In other games you have a “through ball” option, but the system decides where that to aim the ball and possibly even which player is the target.
A god tier port. And to think I believe it was released at only 30 dollars. One of the best Wii games especially in the first few years of the console. So good
My 5 year old son has got me back into the Wii. He discovered Wii Sports/Resort at his cousins and came home excited that we had a Wii. So have started collecting again for it and really enjoying it.
About three years ago I started going hard in collecting Gamecube games I missed, then 3DS, then PS3 and Vita, I'm presently working on Wii so this video is very timely for me. The Wii is so fun to collect for given how crazy cheap most of the games are and there's lots of fun to be had.
I like this channel because it’s not biased on playstation only products. There’s a lot of variety in the videogame world that everybody has to experience. Lots os years and years of videogaming fun. Good job Jayson!
I've been waiting for this one for a while now and it did not disappoint!! Awesome collection man. As a racing game fan you need to try the other Bigfoot game, "Bigfoot King of Crush" it controls great! Also "GT Pro Racer" and "Nascar Kart Racing" are both a ton of fun!!! Really appreciate these videos. I've had dozens of hours of fun with games that if not for you I would have never heard of, let alone tried. Thanks!
True, but that motion control spin around the bar mechanic is ridiculous. Dump that, add Wii Pro Controller support and you’d have a great racing games. All Wii racers should have Wii Pro Controller support. They did it for Mario Kart Wii and it handles so much better than the often vague motion controls. ⚙️
@@xyrzmxyzptlk1186 Dude! You are right. The motion stuff around the bar every lap is the biggest flaw of ExciteBots otherwise being a perfect game. For that I favor Excite Truck if I had to pick just one. I would kill for a remaster or sequel .
If you have the Wii that can play GameCube games, you can plug in a GameCube controller and the system will recognize the controller. I prefer the GameCube controller over the Wii controller because I grew up playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 on the GameCube
Yeah. As well as House of the Dead - Overkill, also available on Wii. Overkill is arguably the best of the three actually. It's classic House of the Dead - fused with the style of a Tarantino/exploitation movie. Pretty Bad - A.
Check out Baroque if you don’t already have it on PS2! It’s a very interesting Roguelike from Sting (Yggdra Union, Knights in the Nightmare, Gungnir, etc) and published by Atlus in the states.
I am so happy that you mentioned the Conduit games. I personally view Conduit 2 as a special game on the system though. It is easily the best FPS on the console and had both great art direction, and weapon variety along with a cheesy yet fun to replay single player campaign. Thanks for mentioning them!
I bought the PC version from gamersgate.com years ago though they don't have it anymore. According to this isthereanydeal.com/game/cursedmountain/info/ it's supposed to be available as a download from Amazon, but I don't know if it's available in all regions. The gamersgate version was also a download so not a Steam key or something like that. I have it installed on my PC, but I've only played a few minutes of it, I hope to get to it soon.
Great video! Sonic Colors remains my favourite 3D Sonic game (and I got nearly every Sonic game ever made). I prefer 3rd person shooters with IR controls compared to first person. The on-rails Wii games were fantastic, and I feel they were unfairly demonized, including Dragon Quest Swords. I regretted, heavily, transferring my Wii accounts to Wii U, because the Wii U is such an eyesore compared to the Wii and now I’m stuck with it until I’m ready to stop playing Wii games (which I still am about 16 years later). My collection is 45 games, but lots and lots of VC stuff. I wish all this stuff was available on Switch.
I have multiple Wii & Wii U consoles, so many great games (VC too) and often I'm having to educate folks about the fantastic library of games when they say the Wii is nothing but gimmicky.
I think Rooms: The Main Building from Hudson Soft is a fantastic puzzle game on the Wii. And I absolutely love "Lost In Shadow". I have 2 games where I prefer the Wii mote over a normal controller. TMNT & Ghostbusters. Two other games I really enjoy that don't get mentioned much, Flip's Twisted World & Dewy's Adventure.
'Let's tap' deserve a couple more words or a video. A game where you can use box for as a controller. For example your shoe box. Very unique experience. I miss some categories from the video: Guitar hero games, dance (zumba) games, and sing games. Thanks to you I found a good game again (Sin and punisment). I really love the newer PS and XBOX consoles, but the Wii will remain my all time favorite console! Thanks for the video!
I’ve grown to appreciate the Wii! I still don’t like motion controls, but I really like a lot of the games. Zack & Wiki definitely took me by surprise and I love it so much!
Love the Wii videos. It was easy for teen me to hate it back in 2012, but adult me looks back fondly on the system and it’s games. Just hearing the Wii menu music is nostalgic. Wish they rerelease Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch soon!
In my experience, some games that forced the use of motion control were: Mortal Kombat armageddon, Facebreaker K.O party and Castlevania judgement. In MK armageddon it forced you to press the B button and perform movements to execute attacks. In Facebreaker the position of your wiimote and nunchaku mattered because it determined if the hit was to the head or to the body, or if you were defending or parrying. In the end, you threw punches with the controller to overwhelm the opponent. In castlevania almost the same as in MK, shake the wiimote for the basic hit.
I got Deadly Creatures a few years ago because of your recommendation. It's an utterly charming game, especially for someone like me who grew up in the Sonoran desert in AZ. It reminds me of home.
The wii has so many hidden gems because people just ignored it. It was ridiculous. I was fully "in" during the wii days and got to play most of these games as soon as they were released. Was truly an amazing time.
Really appreciate you showing off gameplay, it's a difficult endeavour, but adds so much value!

This game was so cheap for so long, and overlooked for so long. It's so good.
You noted a lot of my favorite Wii hidden gems. Considering the infamous vast amount of shovelware on the platform, a lot of them still remain hidden to many.
Playing Wii bowling with my Dad ❤ Can't bring myself to play it since he passed though 😊
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
The Wii version is fantastic.
The ending sucks though.
wasn’t it it’s own story compared to the 360/ps3 versions?
@@retrogamerfan123 Will be cool to know. I've been on a kick for games that are different versions on the Wii (or other consoles) v PS3/XB360.
@@retrogamerfan123 yes it was
@@edm5100 I've always found games that we're separate versions from other platforms quite interesting since they do have to very much build these games from the ground up fit the hardware and a lot of the time it's often with the help of another studio.
@@GenerationZ313 Agreed! Pretty cool how they push the older consoles, or completely change up the gameplay/story.
just started the vid and i still play DEADLY CREATURES i love that game, we need another
Exactly at the moment when my girlfriend and I found her old Wii in the closet, Metal Jesus made a video about his collection of Wii Games.
Thank you! We will try.
Not to mention the Wii is also backwards compatible with Gamecube games
Best console I have, period.
Little King's Story is certainly my top hidden gem on the Wii.
Then you should play Moon Rpg Adventure and Lack of Love, from almost the same people.
@@Imsanthisismychannnelhi I knew about Moon and have considered picking it up a few times. I was unaware of Lack of Love. I'll have to look it up. Thanks!
170??? Wow, I would never have guessed you were that much into the Wii! One of the most underrated consoles ever
What? It is one of the fastest selling consoles of all time
@@emulation2369 but it didn't sell to gamers. It sold to the casual crowd. People that would play Wii sports a couple of time a year and then forget about the console. It was never taken seriously by gamers
I actually lost my Wii games recently and have been having to re-buy them, and now is the perfect time. They're cheaper than ever.
I keep saying it: as popular as the Wii was, it is extremely underrated. So many great games came out on it, but people focus on the "shovelware."
Dude where's Target Terror? That's some good cheese right there
Very rare game! I don't think he had that or Gunslingers which is another cool hard to find rails shooter.
@@Infamouslbx Great now I'm going to have to find myself a copy and they don't come up cheap on ebay... :/
Finally Ghost Squad gets some Love, I remember it well, good game :)
I'm constantly surprised at how little mention this game usually receives. I had such a fun time with it.
I have considered buying it on the Wii U eShop, but I still want to get a physical copy.
Return to Dreamland is an excellent game. Best Kirby I've played.
I loved Resident Evil 4 Wii edition.
A god tier port. And to think I believe it was released at only 30 dollars. One of the best Wii games especially in the first few years of the console. So good
I didn't see The Last Story RPG on there. That's a must have for Final Fantasy fans
I missed out on the Wii's entire lifespan, however I recently purchased one. I think this is a great guide to start a collection.
Ghost squad on the wii is awesome man! I love it, its a classic.
Ahhh, the Wii. Some great games, a handful of hidden gems, and a buttload of shovelware.
Mad Dog McCree, if I remember correctly, was an arcade game from the early 90s. I remember it being one of the 1st arcades with FMVs.
I OWN it...but the controls doesn't respond very well...It is frustrating...Maybe it's because of the HD tv..
Thanks!
Excite Truck & Excite Bots were two of the best racers on Wii
True, but that motion control spin around the bar mechanic is ridiculous. Dump that, add Wii Pro Controller support and you’d have a great racing games. All Wii racers should have Wii Pro Controller support. They did it for Mario Kart Wii and it handles so much better than the often vague motion controls. ⚙️
@@xyrzmxyzptlk1186 Dude! You are right. The motion stuff around the bar every lap is the biggest flaw of ExciteBots otherwise being a perfect game. For that I favor Excite Truck if I had to pick just one. I would kill for a remaster or sequel .
i find it funny you have Mad World and Deadly Creatures together in the pile, I spent a long time looking for just those two games
If you have the Wii that can play GameCube games, you can plug in a GameCube controller and the system will recognize the controller. I prefer the GameCube controller over the Wii controller because I grew up playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 on the GameCube
Donkey Kong Country Returns seems like a pretty big omission, shocked you don’t have that one already!
I still play it all the time.
Forces you to use the wiimote
This is why I love the Wii U. Plays the classic Wii games + hidden gems...and about half of Nintendo’s first party releases for the Switch.
I recently got The House of the Dead 2&3 Return. I find it weird that you don't have it already.
Nice, learned a lot about the Wii catalogue.
Knowing that you are a racing game fan, I came here specifically looking for those games to be included in the video. Was not disappointed!
Really glad I found my Wii in the attic the other day. There’s so many games I never finished because I got so caught up in the PlayStation 3 hype lol
I am so happy that you mentioned the Conduit games.
I personally view Conduit 2 as a special game on the system though. It is easily the best FPS on the console and had both great art direction, and weapon variety along with a cheesy yet fun to replay single player campaign. Thanks for mentioning them!
Watching this video makes me want to get a lot of these games, lol
Fragile Dreams is such a win 👌🏼
Playing it again this week to capture the footage was a lot of fun. It had been a long while since I played it.
Your one of my favorite classic gaming channels you got me into buying a ps2 and collecting games love your stuff dude
10:20 Cursed Mountain also came out on PC
It's a shame you can't really get it anywhere these days though, it was a good game.
Its like a fiver on ebay for the wii version
Haven't been watching your channel in a while. No reason really, just busy with life, but your channel is still awesomeness. So relaxing to watch.
Great collection! Seeing all these great games is a good reminder of what a great system the Wii still is!
Couldn't agree more!
@Falcom Scott Absolutely, my friend! I still have it and play it from time to time. Do you have it?
I have multiple Wii & Wii U consoles, so many great games (VC too) and often I'm having to educate folks about the fantastic library of games when they say the Wii is nothing but gimmicky.
I recently picked up Mushroom Men, and it's so fun, but the music is especially great.
Yep! really fun 3rd person platforming game most people don't talk about. 🤘
Les Claypool FTW!
@@frankupham1214 The music is astonishingly good. Really gives the game a weird feel. LOVE it.
From the top of my head: missed the Goldeneye remake, Fire Emblem and the Pikmin games. Nice collection!
I'd love to see another Klonoa for the current gen.
Well there goes my wii collecting. Ten seconds after this vid the prices will triple. Thanks MJ lol.
The Wii is underrated
Boom blox 1 and 2 are my faves on the wii..we have a tridition of playing these two games when family visit and stay over when visiting .
I got Deadly Creatures a few years ago because of your recommendation. It's an utterly charming game, especially for someone like me who grew up in the Sonoran desert in AZ. It reminds me of home.
A very underated party game is Boom Blox. I definitely recommend checking it out. Keep the great videos coming.
The wii has so many hidden gems because people just ignored it. It was ridiculous. I was fully "in" during the wii days and got to play most of these games as soon as they were released. Was truly an amazing time.
Great Collection Man! I Might Get Back Into Collecting For The Wii Because It's One Of My Favorite Consoles Of All Time
Got Ghost Squad for .99 cents from GameStop … steal for that price! Sin and Punishment for $4 and that is another steal
