- Irish actor Pierce Brosnan held the role from 1995 to 2004. The character was also doubled by stuntmen Wayne Michaels, Jacques Malnuit, and BJ Worth.[2] He appeared in GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002). In addition Brosnan also provided his likeness for six James Bond video games, starting with Rareware's 1997 blockbuster GoldenEye 007. (wiki)

Goldeneye is one of my most favourite James Bond films ever in my life even I had grown up watching this. His fashion, bloody skill, calmness and masculinity totally shocked me as a little boy when I first saw it. The spectial effects are not as much as we can all see in modern days but everything is so smooth and matched. Pierce Brosnan's outing as Bond is unrivalled. The director's skills are of high quality and that doesn't make the movies feel so boring.
My favorite Bond film! Captures everything I love about series, Brosnan was my Bond growing up and still is my favorite Bond and 006 is my favorite villain of the series, great film and tribute.

Die another day is one of the worst Bond movies after Moonraker this the main reason why the producers choose to reboot the franchise after.
@@karimlabbee1014Pierce is great in it despite being handed a garbage script. The first third is an interesting premise that’s sadly never capitalised upon.
Still remember the Time I Saw the opening scène of goldeneye in théâtre. I was kid and I was wow, this is how James Bond is. Tomorrow never dies IS also really great. Pierce has charm and suave attitude. Hyper class!

Pierce Brosnan, my all time favorite Bond. The most handsome, debonaire and suitable actor to play 007 IMHO. In memory of his time as Bond, I have been sporting his version of Omega Seamaster 😊😊😊. So sorry to see his tenure cut short not in a good ending.

Goldeneye was his high point, and what a high point! I always loved him as Bond, it’s just a shame the later films got worse and worse.
Too true, I really do think Bronson should have retired from the role after Die Another Day, well and the movie should have been done with a new Bond, and better CGI.

True but Brosnan just got better in the role Craig on the other hand looked like he hated every minute of it after Casino Royale.
@@purefoldnz3070 I honestly felt that Craig should have been replaced after Skyfall. By the point Spectre came along, he no longer gave a damn and we all can see it.

It's a good thing that Pierce Brosnan only portrayed James Bond once, in Goldeneye. Can you imagine what would happen if they took that performance and created a bunch of Roger Moore knockoffs afterwards. That would be horrible!

It depends what you want. For me, I want Bond movies to be fun adventures, and Brosnan is perfect for that. If you want Bond to be a dark, brooding anti-hero that’s your cup of tea, but I prefer having fun when I watch Bond 🤷🏻♂️

The last film that Cubby was alive for. You could see that Brosnan was getting set up for the same treatment as Roger Moore or daniel craig, but then Cubby dying and his kids not liking Brosnan led to the creative leash and subsequent premature dismissal that followed
Blame Barbara. She pushed Dalton out because she was hot for Pierce, then did the same to Pierce because she was obsessed with Craig. Pierce really should have gotten a fifth movie to go out on before they rebooted.

And yes, Brosnan wanted to do 6 films to tie with Connery and that’s only fair considering that he saved and revitalised the franchise on a level that Dalton realistically never could’ve.

@@nickslade3978 It's not official of course, but Cubby was on his way out then and she was basically running things with Michael Wilson by that point. Maybe that's just rumor, but she did the same to Pierce so it's believable.

Brosnan lost his way after GoldenEye when he played Brosnan rather than Bond in his latter three films. In my opinion he's better with the longer hair, the stubble and when not parading that Cheshire Cat grin.

@@JDoe-gf5oz when I went to the theater to watch goldeneye when it came out in the theaters I was just thinking that they were something wrong with this movie then I went home and I thought about it a whole lot more and it hit me in the night when I was asleep it’s more darker it’s more grittier course there’s one-liners in the few and far between but yup right there it shows to me that they took one script, butchered it put it back together and gave it to another actor to do really kind a looks like a sigh ops to me and then I decided maybe it’s just time to just move on to different things for me to watch and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life but I felt abused by waiting five years to get Timothy back and you know and I’m gonna tell you and everybody that’s going to read this. I bought five calendars crossed out days weeks months years of giving him back as my James Bond boy was that a let down I just goldeneye or whatever it was gonna be a Timothy Dalton’s movie. It’s just sucks that he wasn’t in that movie when he needed to be and when the movie was definitely made for him and no matter how much I do not like Pierce Brosnan, and he did not fit in the role whatsoever because he’s the one hit wonder, because all the rest of his three movies were nothing but garbage and dog shit he deserves something better like his own script not a recycle one
