😥😥 the Dressage World was blessed to have had him with us and produce as many gorgeous offering as he did. Unfortunately, time is our enemy. RIP Sandro Hit
This stallion has a special place in my heart. I own one of his daughters and she looks so much like him, it's insane. She is my true heart horse. She means the world to me. Sandro Hit made a huge impact on the breeding of dressage horses. RIP
In the description where you listed the lineage of Sandro Hit competing in Tokyo, you failed to mention that Sanceo and Suppenkasper also won Team Silver in Tokyo. Interestingly, Sandro Hit was an Oldenburg, yet the three horses mentioned above are registered as Hanoverian (Silvano and Sanceo) and KWPN (Suppenkasper). I'm new to dressage horse pedigrees. What determines which breed they are officially registered as when so many are crossbreeds? Is it the dam or sire? Or a percentage of bloodline in the pedigree?
it is chosen by the breeder, the dam has to be approved to produce in the studbook you want your foal in. Each sb has its own preferences also in the qualities and morphotype so you want your foal to have the best chances to be awarded, or licensed when 2 or 3 yo. It's a complex question and though races are quite mixed (opened to other sb), they prefer some horses to others to represent them

What a gorgeous boy he was, he had many beautiful offspring, some more tricky than others, but it was a sad day when he passed. RIP Sandro Hit xx
So sad for a gorgeous horse. I know he will be missed deeply missed. May he RIP. And go to heaven with all the other horses. I know they are there.
