    I love how Danchou started singing as a way to cope with crying lol. But honestly yeah. Gen 3 was my entry into Hololive and their collabs were so precious. To see Hololive become more popular, the loss of Rushia, and everyone getting busier, these moments are becoming rarer.

      I really think it's the busier part. Back then they were mostly just streaming, so they had time to chill together. Now Hololive is so successful that they're always so busy, which is great of course but also means it's more difficult to just chill out with your friends without planning weeks in advance.

    Hololive has done so much for a lot of the members, I really hope they develop more bonds of true friendship within the org even if it continues to expand.
    Marine being a depressed OL that couldn't make it as a mangaka or illustrator, nor as a voice actor. And she joins Hololive and she can use her personality, voice and drawing skills to the extent of their potential.
    Aqua having next to no friends IRL being dragged out by Suisei and Towa to touch grass, but in a small group that's still comfortable as an introvert.
    Noel having a somewhat jaded view on life with few friends, but she joins Hololive and moves into the same apartment as her newfound friends and colleagues.
    Okayu learning to love her voice, Watame and Suisei getting their singing talents recognized, etc etc etc.
    I'm saying I hope Hololive doesn't end up becoming so corporate it starts failing to nurture these things. I don't think it will for some time though.

      Don’t forget Subaru’s house burning down and her having to work a series of side jobs before applying to Hololive (despite having zero experience as a stream) just because she liked the Granny Vtuber, and just brute forcing her way in with passion.
      Or how Kanatan had a huge problem displaying her emotions and feelings, and ending up becoming best friends with Coco.
      Or maybe how Coco applied to work as a manager but got convinced to apply as a member after they found out she was Kson.
      Or how about Miko more or less deciding on quitting due to no growth before she started streaming GTA V and blew up.
      And then probably my favorite was Pekora being shy and introverted, and having a lot of troubles communicating or reaching out to others, always playing alone in Minecraft, somehow getting closer to Moona after a misunderstanding(accidentally extorting Lapus Lazuli), going on to form Usada Kensetsu together.
      The growth of Hololive, and part of its charm, is that it’s also been about the growth of the members as entertainers and as people.
      The avatars may be virtual, but the emotions and memories are real.

      True. Which is why videos like that Shiraken trip was food for the lonely soul. Glamping with her Flare, the two loud bickering duo of MiComet, and the never-ending laugh trips with Polka. I felt that . ..I hope they can still do things like that more often. It's the pain of a growing company that I've also experienced myself: as things get bigger the amenities get better and stuff gets more professional, but the cost is that small and cozy things with a tight group of people become less and less, until one day you walk in and realise you recognise nobody 😢. That is why i firmly believe that companies and communities shouldn't grow forever, if possible...at some point you lose more than you gain and in the end, it is about people too.

    • @NihongoWakannai
      @NihongoWakannai 9 месяцев назад +6

      It constantly happens with internet communities, including hololive fanbase. Back in 2019 it felt quite tight nit and all the clippers were passionate people just trying to contribute to the community.
      Nowadays the community is filled with lots of annoying people who only care about clickbait, drama, doxxing etc. And it kinda sucks

    And now 1 missing member of the 3rd gen makes it worse. Man back in 2019, 3rd gen was the most close gen with one another. Even though Pekora rarely goes with them but you can see her getting along with the rest of the 3rd gen.

    • @Arkamui
      @Arkamui 9 месяцев назад +12

      At that time Pekora used to hang out a lot with the third generation because it was the time she was closest to Miko and Miko always hung out with them since the beginning of this generation, Marine sometimes even joked that she was the sixth member of the third generation, ironically Rushia didn't always hang out with them in several stories I remember they mentioned some other members like Gamers but not Rushia (just before the arrival of the fourth generation)

    • @Kaimine08
      @Kaimine08 9 месяцев назад +3

      I would agree with this too, but seeing how Gen 3's video about Rushia, Pekora and Senchou were both breaking down while trying to answer questions while Noel and Flare were very matter of fact about the whole situation. I don't even remember Watame crying over it and she cries over everything. It really gave off the impression that aside from a few people who were close to Rushia as well as Haachama, she wasn't really well liked with the JP members. That's my impression at any rate.
      As for the topic at hand, yeah, with 2020 being the golden age for Hololive and where it seriously started to pick up steam, I can imagine how humble the beginnings were when fighting to get thousands were very difficult instead of millions like we see now. Getting millions of subscribers is very difficult on youtube; its very rare to see a streamer make it this far. Plus the girls are super busy to the point of hardly having free time. I can get what she means when she's reminiscencing about simpler times.

    Sometimes what makes us cry is not the horrible memories but the Happiest one.
    And in contrast, we sometimes can talk about our horrible and terrible memories like a comedy and laugh at it.
    When we experience happy time, we laugh and smile, but when we experience horrible and sad experience, we cry or sometimes even shouting and throwing a fit.
    But when it's time to reminisce and remembering what we've been experiencing, sometimes our reaction is flipped entirely, crying while remembering happy memories, and smiling remembering the horrible and tough one.

I'm probably wrong but I think Fubuki had the biggest holo yt channel at like 150k subs (?) around Pekora's debut. I’ve only started to really watch hololive seriously this past year. I knew about it since gen 4s debut but I think they’ve come a long way. We have a singing shark gorl and a scizo who uses scissors to eat now. I think if there wasn’t a huge language barrier that the friendships among branches would be a lot closer.

    Many people feel this when they were a part of something small that later experiences exponential growth. It is hard to keep that feeling of camaraderie and morale, even as things get more successful on the whole. I also feel like my office has lost its feeling of community since COVID and people working from home most of the time. Then again, it's not really the job of the employer to provide a social life for their employees. However, since it is legitimately hard to have a "real life" as a full-time streamer, I think corporate Hololive should think about these type of issues, if they don't want more of their talent to burn out.

    I can sympathize. Hololive is after all a company that recruits likeable talents, and people to support them. Its an outright shame they dont get enough opportunities to mingle and socialize with each other. You may say their lives like fes etc they get the chance. But even then they’re not all present at the same time from what i can tell. I can’t even imagine how much a new years eve with all of Hololive both talent and staff on the roof of the new office or something would mean for their morale.

    Even if it was cramped, it was just absolutely so much fun. This is why I still prefer local games rather than online. discord kinda made online a bit closer to the feel of local games tho

      I don't watch Danchou too much, but if my memory serves me correctly, she mentioned in the past that she just didn't make a lot of friends in school, and she began working from a relatively young age I think, so she had less time doing teenage/youth stuff. Ninisanji is the one shitting out new gens every other week (and graduating them again).
