Just wanted to take a moment to appreciate how far Chris has come from behind the scenes just putting in the graft to full banter and engaging with us all. Great to see you both showing the relationship you have and both being active on the channel!!! Some may not understand just how far Chris has come
& it all started with a toilet joke!
@@Roseeeeeeyeah who could forget that 😂
He’s such a lovely guy and his work is top notch , he wants everything absolutely perfect and puts in the graft to get it done , because of these guys I’ve decided to get myself a project from co part , thank you for the confidence guys
I'm going through a really tough time in my life right now, just wanna say thanks as you guys always take my mind off it and make me smile. Happy new year to you both ❤
Chin up mate. Things have a way of getting better.
You didn't buy a Range Rover and live in London did you?😂😂
Hope ur ok mate 🤞🏻things get better soon
@@mrdeafa25 thanks for the kind words 🥲
@@michaelmcsorley3254 thanks for the kind words. Me to 🥲
These are nice cars (I’ve had 5), but you need to get that repaired and sold quick as Land Rover values are in free fall due to escalating insurance costs. Good luck with it, looking forward to the vids.
Winds me up that Copart don't take any responsibility for fork lift damage yet charge you £40 + VAT for the priviledge. Not like its a one off either. Thats a good £400 to put right because someone doesn't give two hoots about the job their are doing. Merry Christmas guys, great job as always.
yeah and £40+vat to bid online yet you cant collect car from inside yard or bid any other way.
Co part needs to address that issue with forks driver's, really not good enough plenty of room on the blade extensions.odd they don't use rubber sleeves for the blades it would prevent that altogether.
I agree. It’s atrocious. Surely a little design issue for a small engineering firm to come up with a suitable/inexpensive sleeve?
Love this channel. I am from France I run a 1976 Citroen 2CV and a 1989 Peugeot 205 diesel, there is always something to do on them. I learned English in Cambridge many years ago. At first I couldn't understand a word Rob was saying. Is he from London? Chris was easy enough to understand, although he never used to say much at the beginning. I love the way they take a complete wreck to back on the road despite everything. Great guys, honest and transparent. Happy new year to you all.
Looking forward to this and liking the more expensive cars. I know that it is a basic to you both but I like that you are always very respectful of the previous owner, the insurance company and copart. Costs nothing but classy.
Thanks for a great show in 2023, have a coffee on me. Happy Christmas guys 🎉
Thank you Alex, much appreciated. Happy new year
Sorry got to chip in about some ignorant fool comment, saying Rob would be screwed without Chris. They are a team, if you don't follow the channel just watch a couple guess you will see mostly Chris on the tools with a bit of commentary from Rob. They work so well because their skill sets are opposites. Not taking anything from Chris and is great opening up more to the camera and a body work wizard. How can say Rob does nowt sorry I had chirp up. He finds the cars, bids, sources, collects and manages the parts with deliveries/ collections/fixes/all the filming/editing/commentary (now includes voice over 😂👍), and running commentary, yes he can talk a bit sometimes but he's passionate They both are that's why we love them. Genuine guys filming their day to day, no b shizzle, no hype They just are. So give them a break, less dumb s comments amd thumbs up for a pair of hard workers. I for one love the channel.
🎉🎉
Rob & Chris compliment each other and they are mates. Do top work!!
Surprised you went for a LR considering their prices are crashing and insurance is going through the roof.
I’m impressed with the work done and the presentation. I love seeing the wrecks coming back together.
I’m sure all the subs on the channel agree with me that these two lads have a great show, we all appreciate the effort you guys put in to make the content so entertaining, cheers lads
Not sure if I'm seeing things but on a big screen I can see at least one mark on the rear door from the copart picture you showed, I may even be able to see both dints
A wise man once said “it was running all right before it smashed into the back of something” 😆 brilliant content as ever guys, great car, looking forward to the rebuild 👏
Rob there actually a very small dip in the mileage, possibly a mistaken entry though
There's details a dip in the mileage 47407 to 47364 then up again to 47417 but otherwise you always do a good job I always look forward to your videos
Had one as a courtesy car, was fantastic to drive. Looks a fairly straightforward repair for you both. So many people slate 😊Range Rovers but I bet they all would have one if they had the opportunity. 👍
I’m streaming this to my new LG tv, and it switches to a very high quality. My compliments guys.
fixing air intake with sponge or socks or tights. You should do a list of clever bodges for fixing cars :D
Thank you guys great year watching your videos and it helps with my depression it's something for me to look forward to. Happy new year.
Oh wow its the 2.0 turbo petrol. They didnt make many of those but they are seriously good and now sought after because the earlier diesels had so many issues with oil dilution ! 300hp and quiet as a mouse. Lovely
Thanks for the videos and all the best for 2024. Can't wait for the boat launch with Rob on water ski's down the Medway!
Great video , what a lovely repair back to factory , well done Chris true craftsman 👍💪
Brave to buy a Land Rover with the current theft/insurance crisis hope it works out.
If you need any parts, I work for JLR and can get them cost price if needed. Usually better than trade price.
Thank you for the bonus episode between Christmas and New Year for all of us
Great video as always. No joke this week! You have to make a claim to Copart for the damage they caused (as long as it’s clear in the auction pictures that it’s not there) if everyone claims when they do it eventually they will take more care as they really don’t care.
Keep up the good work guys and have a great new year!
If you look at the millage 47407 then it went down and then up and finished 50550.. fishy.
Also upti 37612 the has averaged 10k a yr definitely clocked back
Definitely… until you watch the latest update 😂 armchair expert strikes again 🤪
The guys next to my industrial unit deal in Range Rover and Discos theybuy crashed and scrap cars, as wel as mechanical repairs, they recon if you get 60000 miles out of the 2 litre engine your doing well.
Yep these are just trouble once the manufacturer warranty runs out just one big expensive problem after another .
Is that the cam chain tensioner issue?
Obvoiusly with Copart if you don't pay there price they give you a bit more damage! Super video guys👍.
Surely Copart should pay for the damage to be repaired?
Are you making a video about the M4 competition competition? All very quiet
Negative comments and everyone is entitled to their view, mine though, I like it and I'm not normally a fan of the Disco 5 but the petrol bit interests me, should be a really nice motor in the end. As for that air bag kit, how is that only £350? I'd have expected at least 3 times that for one of those.
There was a dip in the recorded mileage and if correct it did a handful of miles over 3 years?
Not seen one of your videos for a while Rob love how you now do a voiceover on the time lapse parts. Still quality content 👍
Well it is only two days after Christmas so it doesn't matter that you said 'Merry Christmas' Rob. I am so glad that you didn't try to push that car in the workshop, that would have been a back breaker. Overall it is not as bad as it first looked and the engine is fine so that is great. I think it will be a reasonably quick job as there isn't any major body work to do. You will enjoy doing the dashboard airbag Rob as that is usually you 'department' . Take care Gents and we will see you in the next one! 👍👍
I have been in one a 2019 car the remote control for TVs in the back are really expensive to get if you lose them that spec is actually the HSE luxury
Hi Rob and Chris, great project, and will be interesting when completed how desirable it is. But i think as you always price keenly will go as quickly as everything else does.. Alex.
Something to stand on 😂 now Rob that was funny
On autotrader today 954 diesels and only 35 petrols currently available on 2018 models onwards . Wish you every success shifting this one gents!
Thanks for all the great content in 2023 👍👍👍
Good luck with that one boys , I hope you can show jlr how to repair a damaged car as my defender has been in the main dealer now for 10 months awaiting parts and the damage is no near as bad as yours just a door and side steps. Keep up the great work and thanks for the great content.
Flipping heck guys, you've made good progress on this already. Great video and I'm sure the next one will be just as good.
You say no mileage discrepancies but theres a 43 mile discrepancie 😅 how didnt car vertical pick it up 👍
How didn't Rob see it. Bad advert for car vertical missing that.
Looking forward to seeing this and Chris with his magic fingers and Rob doing his running about as well
Well done guy's can't wait to see this again
Love chris,s humour still chuckling about getting you something to stand on , big bus guys
Hope use had a good xmas fellas thanks for the content this year
Nice to see a LandRover in the house. I'm a LR nut.
Looked bad at the start Rob once it was stipped down it didn't look to bad atoll.loads of plastics broke .iam sure you and Chris will have it done to your usual standars 👍🏻🚗
Don’t know if you have room for it but you can bolt down a winch in front of the ramp so when you get a big car like this that doesn’t run you can just winch it in.
Also can you not make a claim with Copart and get a refund for the 2 damaged doors?
Absolutely lovely car. Can’t wait to watch this series
Did you not notice the discrepancy in the mileage boys, goes from 47407 down to 47364 the back up to 47417, very odd don`t you think,
Mileage mistakes are made every single day by mot testers
You guys have entertained me for the last year amazing work all the best for the new year can't wait for 2024 👍👍
You should get £10/12K back sale price when its finished. Hope you make a decent profit on £3K purchase price. Cheers
Morning please to see another high end build I think it’s the way forward people seem to like them.
Has been very hard but judging by Rob and Chris it will be fixed and reapaired to factory standard and will be new!
Another fantastic project , am sure it ll create good content !!!
Thanks for the entertainment guys !!
Great video.
The bottom has fallen out of the Landrover market, hope you guys do OK out of it and it was super cheap.
Looks like a good project , Rob remember the range rover best let Chris under the bonnet 😂
Might want to check that mileage history again. Definitely had a dip at 47000.
It's at 5:20 drove a while backwards 😆
😂
Plenty of parts available in Birmingham
I was interested to see the little trick used to get it running, lovely car
Super "little" project well done look forward to the next epidode.👍👍👍
mileage went down on one year???
Nice car, don't know how copart works but if there's damage that isn't showing on the listing pictures can you claim for it. See this on so many videos, their fork truck drivers don't seem to be careful with customers purchases. Looking forward to seeing this one back on the road. All the best to you both 👍
copart wont even offer much for damaging a car you put down to sell.i put a car down they damaged the roof and offered me £75 compensation then £100 maximum..there excuse was because the car only made £400...yeah obviously the roof was damaged.i will nit put another car down there for sale.
has it got full levva interior
Nice motor, but am sure there was a mileage discrepancy on Car Vertical report.........probably input error. But another great video guys, you're definitely on a roll😊
excellent comic timing chris...and well received/taken in great good humour by rob so brilliant!
Getting some really lovely stock in nice one guy's 👌👌👌 hope you both had a good Xmas
Hope you had a great Christmas, keep up the great videos 👍🏼
Has it got adaptive headlights? That will be the warning Amber triangle error, will all work bar the adaptive will need coding
This is going to be a great project a small buff and Polish and she will be good as new 🎉
Wit lies in recognizing the resemblance among things which differ and the difference between things which are alike.
Will look like show room car in a couple of videos I’m sure happy new year guys and thanks for all ur hard work ❤
Well done boys, hope you had a great Xmas. Have a prosperous new year, see you in the next one...!!! 😂😂
We have a disco 5 as the family bus. It’s drives well when it’s working but it’s a pain to get it fixed by sytner when it breaks, often have to wait months for an appointment. And then the insurance situation is just irritating , poor show on Landrover taking so long to take notice and address.
Yes there’s nothing like having a good local garage to do your servicing and repairs, I often find they charge about half the price of designated dealer work..
Some great buys Rob and Chris. Looking forward to the rebuilds.
I hope you finish this one quickly, as the way they're falling in value you could loose out.
Just watched a video on shifting metal channel just go through auction 17 plate diesel low miles didn’t do 15 k and it sold aswell
All these car verticle adds say have the damage pictures included but out of all the ones purchased by you tubers I don't think any of them have had pics?
With the current insurance issues with JLR do you think you will continue working on these or avoid them.
Good luck with it. Increase the value by making it harder to steal
I'd love to know the proportions of the negative comments whom have first hand experience of the so called "price freefall" and "reliability issues"
I have had multiple brand new JLR products and still running 2 now.
Yes I don't live in London area, but I have never had a breakdown nor is my insurance anything unexpected.
JLR has got to be the worst sufferer of "I've a mate down the pub who had xxx issues" but very limited first hand / not any intention to buy.
Happy new year all!
Go and trade 1 in and you will see the "price freefall" 😂
@@Mr_Dave1979 you done this recently then? Interested to hear what you found..
Cracking news to hear you nabbed some cheap pre xmas pressys guys...well done.
You know when you are good mates because you can have good banter. Great video guys.
Hi guys, love your videos 👍
I couldn’t help noticing the loud whistle from the turbo. Please make sure you check none of the bits of broken plastic have been sucked in, as that can be a costly mistake to make.
Which I unfortunately have some experience of, from my apprentice days 🤦🏻♂️
Hope it all goes well, as it looks like a lovely car.
Kind regards
Gareth Richards
Nice motor. Looking forward to the next vid when Chris tweaks them end caps
i like the specifics of what needs replacing on the first videos, hope you get quite a bit of money on this one
hello both, what a surprise to see the engine running and to drive it into the workshop! Best wishes and "Happy New Year" from Lincolnshire
Dude the mileage goes from 47407 to 47364 then back to 47415?
That will be depreciating by the hour. There even going through auction without any bids at the moment. Good luck to whoever buys it to get it insured..especially down South. Good Luck.
Top work guys, loving the videos. Just a quick one, I couldn’t see if the windscreen was broken or not, if not check that the screen is properly sealed where it meets the roof as they are poorly sealed from the factory and leak water into the cabin causing a host of electrical issues. A quick push from inside at the top will let you know.
Another wonderful ingenium engined masterpiece....
Mileage dip slightly over 47k area
bit iffy m. But sure your both doing a sterling job Lads.
Another great video and looking forward to this disco project, I have a 2009 XJ x358, so always look through the JLR posts.....
A nice car but could be hard to sell, happy new year.
mileage dips from 47407 to 47364 and goes back to 47414 but car vertical does not show it
"Get you something to stand on", I am a short arse, but still laughed.
I see a slight mileage discrepancy nothing to cry about tho 😂
Lovely jubbly a Sruk video just after Christmas, like getting my dessert all over, thats one nice looking motor even with the whack ❤
Guys great video as always Chris works so fast as you do rob I can't wait to it finished👍
It’s a wonder those forklift guys don’t just pick these cars up by the roof. I know they are busy, but really.
