    Do you have a cooler bag in your backpack? Lots of my spots involve long trecks...Would be nice to not have fluke dragging on a stringer...Especially on a Jetty

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  2 года назад

      Yeah hot summer days and stringers...an abominable mix. We do use an Engel backpack cooler but it's been discontinued...I would figure out some kind of cooler/tote/backpack system for sure. It's only right to respect your catch for the table!

    Do prefer any specific tide time, high tide, low tide, coming in, going out?

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  9 месяцев назад

      Each spot is different, and time of year matters too. Many times the bite will die after a tide change, but they just wiggled around and set up differently nearby. You can generally find them again w/o too much trouble.

    The way you’re working the jig and gulp, could a goofy jig and teaser work for fluke?

    so what's your thought on the keitech? A good alternative that holds up better? Did you use any procure on them?

    • @shore-moneyfishing1939
      @shore-moneyfishing1939 4 года назад

      I need to use them a little more. But it's definitely promising. No need for procure.

    • @PeterRanieriII
      @PeterRanieriII 4 года назад

      Shore-Money Fishing gotcha, good to know, yea I’ve been using z-man jerk shads more, they hold up really good

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  4 года назад

      Keitech definitely does not hold up better than gulp, and if anything you're looking at more money. But the action is second to none.

    • @PeterRanieriII
      @PeterRanieriII 4 года назад

      @@CookingandFishing yea they don't look cheap, 5$ each?! interesting, even the saltwater paddletails? I guess your talking about the jerk shads, I think I just need to try them myself

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  4 года назад

      @@PeterRanieriII Nah they're just a few cents more than gulp per pc. The saltwater ones might be tougher, but they don't come in the sizes that make sense. The experiment is using the 4.8 - 6.8 fat swing impacts to see if it'll cull out a bigger bite.

    Fished south Jersey all holiday weekend long, capemay county Beaches there are flat. They don’t have the deeper water structure like you are fishing. Covered water and used your same presentation. I still enjoy your videos, but don’t think it works as well down there.

    • @CookingandFishing
      @CookingandFishing  4 года назад

      Same presentation doesn't mean same technique, that takes time to develop. One of our previous videos Marc was pulling a double limit out of a 3ft flat with almost no gradient to it, so it's not a matter of deep vs shallow. The other possibility is there simply aren't as many fluke around down south. Yet another scenario is the fish aren't ambushing near the wash, and you might have to find bars and sweeps and other soft structure slightly off shore. One tip I can give you is...the shallower the water, the lighter your jig should be. You want to maximize that hang time while it glides back to the bottom. Start at 1/4oz and go lighter.

    • @arisdelis1
      @arisdelis1 2 года назад

      if no bites...keep moving until you find fish, also try diff baits ie Gulp shrimp, SP Minnow, Kastmaster. rattle trap..clams..real shrimp....
