She is such an incredible actor. From Lady Jessica on Dune, to Juliet in The Silo, and here in Mission Impossible... all very different roles. All very convincingly done. Especially The Silo.
She’s soooo good at what she does. Her presence is undeniable. She brings so much to the films she is in. In addition to everything else, she is very smart!
Her death was the only emotionally impactful moment of the movie for me, even if it felt so off how they killed and replaced her as they didnt care. Dont get me wrong the movie was still spectacular on an action level (you can totally see the 290 M budget), but the new chick is not even a third as hot and intriguing as Ilsa was: in this movie she barely says a word and still is able to steal every scene she's in just with her presence. I found Grace's character too much cliché and superficial for my taste but that's the real issue: replacing Rebecca Ferguson beauty and charm is the true mission impossible, and certainly you cant do that with Hayley Atwell
Rebecca Ferguson is really a brave and inspiring women who always performs in very strong role in movies like Life, Silo, Dune, Misson Impossible. Very strong and powerful vibes come from one of the greatest actresses of Hollywood 🙂
She is beautiful in a very classical and stylish way, like she came out of the 50s, but still has something very very peculiar and modern: gives a sense of elegance, class, purity, innocence, joy, intelligence, welcoming personality, melancholy. Any other nowadays actress giving me same vibes is Emma Stone: she too has that amazing La La Land vibe, but is far more beautiful to me, despite not being even a fifth great as an actress. Other fascinating thing is she totally looks her age, but is far more charming than many others desperately trying to look younger.

@@TheNayanava Hayley did pretty damn good, I will say. But Ilsa was so established and the connection to Ethan's character as well was really starting to get really deep. They foreshadowed her death too much and it just didn't feel justified, only as a means for us to dislike Gabriel.

I wanted for Ilsa Faust and Ethan Hunt to have a relationship, considering how the ending of Fallout, it looks like Ethan moved on from his ex wife to Ilsa, and then they do her dirty in Dead Reckoning.
Finally a good question & a good answer about the characters of MI. All stunts & action sequences aside, what I also love about MI is the character & acting & the bond between cast members! Still remember the scene when Ethan met Julia again in Fall Out & all of his team witnessing it. Great acting & putting a very real authentic face to Ethan & all of the others in the franchise.
She is just lovely, ...by far the most elegant, beautiful, and yet surprisingly action capable female actor of our generation. Cannot take my eyes off her when she is on screen. Her choice of roles in recent years exemplifies her range as a talented actor.
1. Ethan said he did not accept the fact that this mission brings danger to the people close to him. 2. Luther corrected Grace by saying that she is alive because of Ilsa, not that Ilsa died because of Grace. 3. Paris survived Gabriel's stab. Verdict: Ilsa Faust's death was staged!
I like the point she makes about having to earn the moment. That’s what’s missing in so much these days. There’s something awful when you turn on a radio in the middle of a song just when the singer is blasting out the big climax. If you listen to the whole song it’s moving because it’s earned, but by itself, it’s just irritating. That seems to happen so much in modern movies and other arts where they go to evoke some emotion, but they didn’t earn it and it falls flat or worse.
I remember Tom Cruises line after the 3rd MI film is make "THEM believe" and that remains true in EVERYTHING hes does in promoting his films. He also knows the UK is the best when it comes to movie producing right from the effects to the English actors

I just didn’t like they killed her character. She was introduced two movies before and it was the most strongest and extraordinary character of these kind of spy-action movies including the Bond series. Should be a stand-alone movie about Ilsa. The same thing with Ana de Armas in the last Bond film.
Maybe Tom Cruise is using the Bond series as inspiration, by keeping the women changing. Or he can't handle a co-star getting more attention or being liked more than his character? It's a wonder he allowed Henry Cavill who is taller than him in the last episode, but then his character was killed too.
