    Larry Mazza - The Greatest Mob Story Never Told!
    Join Larry Rolla as he sits down with the extraordinary Larry Maza, a name that may not be instantly recognizable to many, but one that is etched in the annals of mob history. Larry Maza's life is a saga that defies belief, a narrative so astonishing that it could only be true. He's the author of the astonishing book, "The Life," which tells a story so remarkable that Hollywood itself had trouble believing it. The story is nothing short of cinematic.
    Larry Maza's story unfolds as he recounts his journey from a humble delivery van driver to a trusted associate of one of the most feared figures in the Columbo crime family, Greg Scarpa, also known as "The Grim Reaper." Their connection was forged through an unexpected love affair, one that would have dire consequences if it ever came to light. Larry Maza's entrance into the mob's inner circle was unconventional, and his story is a tapestry of secrets, loyalty, and survival in the treacherous world of organized crime.

    00:00:00 Intro
    ---------------------------------------------------
    The Against All Odds podcast is a true story of one man’s ride through the tainted world of horse racing - a world riddled with greed, corruption, celebrities, drugs, sex and the Mob.
    Larry Rolla was a talented, respected trainer who invented new ways to fix aging and injured racehorses. Despite his success, his demons and his association with the Mob both helped and destroyed his life. He was involved with every phase of Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing, seen it all and done it all, learned how to duck and dive and live through it all. He is a unique man whose past most would not survive. More importantly, he was an extremely compassionate guy who took people with damaged lives and helped them as well, if he could. He liked fixing things that needed fixing.

He hasn't fallen into all the ridiculous drama in the mafia genre either and I respect him for that. Can't wait to see the series when it gets done. Hey Larry just curious why you would ban lasix?

    • @LarryRolla
      @LarryRolla  11 месяцев назад +1

      In layman terms, the main reason horses bleed is broken blood vessels in their lungs. This could start very early, in most cases during their 2year-old year. If at that point time is given for the blood vessels to heal in most cases the bleeding would stop or be easily controlled. However, bleeding is never realized until it becomes visible from the nose. At that point the vet puts the horse on lasix which is a diuretic and causes a horse, within hours, to urinate 30 to40 pounds of fluid lowering the pressure on all arteries and veins which in turn, on some horses reduce bleeding but don't stop it. Therefore, the cause of the bleeding which is the veins that are broke and most likely infected in the lungs are never treated, never given a chance to heal and the horse just keeps bleeding. If the lungs are treated early-on with antibiotics and given a chance to heal and scoped and maintained on a regular basis lasix would not be needed. Giving a horse lasix is like putting a band aid on a torn artery. Plus, along with the 30 plus pounds of fluid that's being eliminated by lasix, goes all the electrolytes (potassium, sodium, calcium, chloride and magnesium) which are essential for basic life functioning. One more thing, a horse's standing temperature is between 99-101degrees Fahrenheit. During a race the horses temperature is regulated by sweating and can reach 102/103 degrees. If a horses sweating ability is hampered because of the lack of fluid in his system because of lasix and the body temperature reach 104, the horses organs start shutting down and heat stroke sets in. If you go on RUclips and type in "Harness Racing Alumni Show December 9, 2021" I talk about this topic. Stay well.

    The only edge you need in sports betting is to understand that the games are scripted. It’s not genuine competition at all. I could give countless examples, but here are a couple of recent ones. Last Monday night Kirk Cousins got his 49th win with the Vikings against the 49ers. Road teams finished 4-9 for the week and the Vikings coach became 9-4. This past Sunday was National Cat Day…I kid you not. How did the cat teams do? Hmmm they all won. Yep, Jaguars, Bengals, and Panthers. This may sound like a joke, but I assure you it’s very real. Last night was a rare “sports equinox” in which all four major sports are played the same time. It was an obvious Texas theme as the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars all won. And the Lions won…their coach is from where? Texas. I could give you 100 more examples to show the obvious scripting.

    • @LarryRolla
      @LarryRolla  11 месяцев назад

      Great information. Now all we need are the scripts before the games. Thanks for watching.
