    Thank you for your channel. I was in an accident over 5 weeks ago, and although my situation is different than other posters on here as it is temporary, it's still jarring to going to being physically active (stairs, walking) everyday to suddenly being unable to walk and needing a wheelchair. I've been struggling with my confidence, as well as with being stared at. It's shocking to me how rude people are, how people don't even move out of the way on the sidewalk for me to pass, or if crossing the road people turn right in front of me not waiting for me to finish crossing. As others on here, I also can't leave my house alone and need assistance, although I try my best to do all the wheeling myself. The positive of this so far is I have really strong arms now from wheeling myself around, but I get so exhausted and winded. But thank you for your channel, dressing for the chair will help with my confidence. Putting on makeup has been a struggle so if I have time I've been doing some makeup, just basics if I have the time. I now need to figure out what to do with my hair, I just keep it in a ponytail and even then when I'm outside the wind just blows my hair like crazy. haha

    I just recently started using a wheelchair (sometimes). One of the very first times I was in a wheelchair, I was in this super narrow hallway and there was this little girl that was staring at me the whole way and looked really uncomfortable. I looked her in the eyes and I smiled and I said hi. She smiled and said hi back and then stopped staring. I felt way more comfortable and confident. I'm still pretty uncomfortable in a wheelchair, but I am getting better.

      thats a grate way to deal with it. It will get easier, but the feelings are always there. you are always aware of the stares. People are just curios. xxx

    I am confident that the stares are fascination with you and your beauty. Admiration and wonder, both. Not to say it wouldn't still be annoying. I would have a hard time not looking, yet being shy about saying hello.

    Children ask why! I explain to them why. And they appreciate it all.

    Lovely video, and such an inspiration. I would say exercise gives me confidence, and most of the points you raised in your video. Music has a huge impact on my mood. :)

      Toonie Hub hi Gem , as a disabled person myself , just want to say I like your video's , and if it's not asking too much , I would love to be able to meet you one day , Unlike you I was born disabled with Spina Bifida / hdrocephalus and use my wheelchair full time ,I also love Seans attitude regarding disabled people , sadly NOT everyone thinks like HE DOES from Miss Shane , Luke London

    Oh my goodness I don’t use a wheelchair but a stick. Only recently I have stopped hiding my stick in pictures etc and mainly since I came across neo-walk

    I'm thinking of getting myself a wheelchair for when I go to uni because I have fibromyalgia and I don't really know how I'm going to react to the staring. I already have tourette's and use a walking stick, so I've become pretty accustomed to people staring at me 😅

    I've had to start using a chair most of the time about 5 months ago I have two little boys. I was just wondering if you have any tips for when your kids are toddler age (3ish)? That stage where they are past the baby wearing phase but don't quiet have the ability to understand yet?

    'It actually makes my life easier.' It WHAT?! Excuse me, can you please be honest?

    • @Wheelsnoheels
      @Wheelsnoheels  6 лет назад +2

      Yes because if I didn’t have a wheelchair, I would have to crawl everywhere, or be carried! I wouldn’t be able to look after my daughter, or take her out for the day. (I do say that in the video)
      My wheelchair is my lifeline, thanks to my wheelchair I’m able to go out and live a life! Not stay at home crawling on the floor, or in bed all day.
