#EASPORTS #nbalive97 Revisiting ANOTHER NBA Live Classic game that brings back so many memories. There will be TONS of more NBA Live Retro material on the way!!
I've owned every NBA live from the ones that predates them before they added the faster movement in Live 95 from NBA Shootout, Bulls Vs. Lakers and all the way up to NBA live 19, but until 2020, I had pretty much stopped playing them after Live 98. I bet the console you had it on bro was the Genesis. The early ones by EA was mostly on Genesis, but when live 95 hit on the SNES I stayed with that format all the way to 97. I tell people all the time about these games man. I'm 48 and I've got over 4 decades of seriously obsessive gaming under my belt. If you plan to go live stream while you play these games, I'll drop in and we can rap about it 4 sho. That is for uploading this man it's been too long since I've got in someone behind with Mitch Richmond and The kings
Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan, and Shaquille O'Neal all had their own video games during that era, so licensing was the reason they weren't in many NBA video games during the 90s.
@@reupricky5255 IN THE ZONE 2 was my fav and first game to have music samples than league and artist used those years but also first game that had 3d faces and models although it was ruff edgy still consider best game ever because live was more like arcade. In NBA In The Zone 2, Magic was hidden cause he played that year. Bird Jabbar Wilt Jordan ShaQ Barkley Dominique were hidden when u create players u match they skin type and height so u unlock the without name but stats and look was theirs. Magic also had unique purple gold knee pads when u match him in edit player. Wilt had his unique head band. Julius his socks. MJ his arm band and leg. But Barkley his eyebrows.
This game have 1 of best musics too. Not only cover was best shooting guard in history (no its not MJ he is slash wing he is brick machine), Mitch is GOAT SG. He have no weakness. U put Mitch instead of MJ they win 8 in a row.
@alanlee67 Til this day, I've never played Shaq-Fu or Chaos in Windy City. Both games looked trash to me from the gaming magazines I was reading at the time. Charles Barkley's Shut Up and Jam was my game, though!
Man these kids don’t know anything about this!!! I’m born in 84, we had the best era they’ll never have to go rent games from blockbuster, and your right bro, I can go back and play Live ‘97 - 00 these boys ain’t going back playing NBA 2K21 😂 this was it right here
@@reupricky5255 haha yeah my brother, I know the feeling I never forget I used to stay up playing Light Crusaders and Gunstar Heroes, my mom and dad got it for me cause I had Sega Chancel and remeber those and doom trooper mutant chronicles. Had to return them and damn got so far in Light Crusaders had to return it dude I was crying hahaha 😂 ah man better times
Man, super relatable for me dude. Played the hell out of these old live games and the shootout series. I don’t even know where to begin with the new 2K games and new sports games in general. They’re way too hard for me and I’m too old to spend all that time and money to figure it out every year 😂. Love the video, I’m here for it.
This is the game I grew up on so I can relate to playing this and seeing the old players. Wild to see Iverson and Kobe's rookie year in a game. That rookie class was stacked from what I remember. You're right as well. We didn't think about "better graphics" since this was good and amazing to us to begin with. We were just happy to be able to play games in our house and not have to go to an arcade all the time. Now kids wanting or "needing" mutliple dlcs and want top graphics.
We was pleased for what we had back then. I wish I could dream about them days every night! Playing these old games helps appreciate more what we had as a gamer in the 90s
This was my favorite NBA Live of all time. We had some serious rivalries in the barracks when I was active duty. Also, one of the coldest finishes I've ever seen in a basketball game happened on live 97
I never tried crack but if its addictive as that drug then hell yea 😂😂😂 all the bullshit going on in the world today it's always good to have something to bring you back to the good times
I still have my NBA Jam my NBA Jam tournament Edition NBA Live 94 95 96/97 98 99 and 2000 keep them in good condition and I still play it till this day
My bro I played NBA fastbreak 98 last year .did a season wit da bulls..hows your 2k11 updated roster going.. when you get a chance go RUclips - are you a good person by living waters
I played so much nba live in the 90s and agree with everything you said 100% One of the things I hate about 2K is as soon as you load it up it’s advertising micro transactions, it’s absolute BS.
@@reupricky5255 Everyone got different taste. It was all good. However, I feel that the 90's EA B-Ball games have that sports channel generic music sound to it which fits well for basketball games rather than real life music artist. Then again, that's just me.
I remember playing these games back in the day. I grew up playing Double Dribble, on to Jordan vs. Bird and Lakers vs Celtics/Bulls vs Lakers and all of those EA titles that preceded NBA Live 95. I even played the Tecmo Basketball games way back in the day. These games were fun, I don't think we could even imagine what we were in for in the coming years. Personally, as an old head and someone that is a longtime basketball fan I prefer the modern games to these older games. Again, I had no idea that the visual fidelity would ever come as far as it has so I don't get caught up in subtle inconsistencies with player faces, jerseys or courts. I'm not an Eras guy in 2K simply because I've played basketball games through all of the eras, and I don't really need to basically rehash many of the what if scenarios I've likely already created. The simplicity of the older games do make them enjoyable but the strain they put on my old eyes is pretty tough.
LOL!! I was going to say the same thing!! I go back even futher to the Mattel Basketball handheld with the blips on the screen! Intellivsion II had a great basketball game too, way better than Atari 2600. Then came Double Dribble, Tecmo NBA, Jordan vs. Bird, and so on! Not sure why Tecmo NBA don't get alot love for being a TRUE prototype of NBA games of today....😃 Those games are true classics, and hard to believe many of them are almost 40 years old now! I still have my original gaming consoles & games in my man cave in almost near mint condition!
@@omegaman2767 woooow you are absolutely right!!! Tecmo does deserve a lot of praise cause they was definitely pushing the sport games at the time. Tecmo Bowl til this day my favorite football of all time!!
