I was raised to always be respectful and "yes ma'am" and "If I may" shows respect. Anyhoo, she's my favorite judge and I can't get enough of her episodes. She is the reason cash never leaves one hand without a receipt in the other hand ❤
I went to college and shared a dorm with a friend from high school as well. And we also got an off campus apartment the second year. She was less tidy than me for sure… but thankfully it never escalated to anything beyond me just being annoyed. We’re actually still good friends till today. We lived together from 2007 - 2012 and I’ve always been super grateful for how peacefully we lived together. I never had to share a dorm or an apartment with a stranger because of her. 🙏🏽
OK I felt no type of way about the judgment because it was correct. However, I am getting from the plaintiff that she decided to have a living situation with a friend. But then decided that her and her boyfriend wanted to basically share the apartment too. If he had his own place, why not alternate the weeks. I wouldn’t want anybody staying at my house every week. I live in one bedroom, in even a friend coming over every week sometimes I would like a little bit of peace and quiet and if it’s me and the roommate OK. But you’re inviting another person not considering the fact that this is my apartment too. The plaintiff is basically just letting her boyfriend live there for free on and off every week And making her roommate pay while she made her feel uncomfortable. Plus disgusting I would never wanted to sleep in a room where myself and my friend is having relations. With our partners.
This case went wrong for many reasons. 1. 1800.00 plus for a 1 bedroom is too much. 2. Two young women sharing a bedroom is a bad idea. 3. It's very rude and disrespectful to invite a boyfriend over repeatedly when you DON'T have the space. 4. They have OUTGROWN the friendship and relationship. 5. The boyfriend should have been held accountable whether he was on the lease or not!
I own rental properties in a college town. The reason students share bedrooms is because in college towns housing is very expensive, very hard to find, students have little money, and most landlords don't like renting to college students due to no rental history, low credit scores, the fear of too much partying, and damages to the apartment. I've heard stories of two bunkbeds per room including two bunkbeds in the living room. That's 4 people per room. So, a two-bedroom apartment would have 12 people. Nowadays, most leases restrict the number of people who can live in the apartment to only those on the lease. Leases also limit the number of overnight guest(s) stays to about 24 days a year specifically to avoid students moving in other students (to further split the rent) and then "claiming" they are only visitors.
I know how the defendant feels. My Spring semester of my freshman year of college, my constantly had her boyfriend over. He'd be there when i I woke up, and when I went to bed. I was so glad when the semester was over.
Sooo the judge really thinks the boyfriend being there and screwing right next to her was not a good enough reason to leave? Really!! How is that not an extreme reason to leave, the plaintiff must remind The judge of her daughters and how they would screw their boyfriends right next to her, nothing wrong with that!
I did same thing, left when a roommate had her bf there but he was abusive and crazy and she hasn’t listen and kick him out so I was out of there 🤷🏻♀️
I'm side with the defendant. I ain't living with 2 people. I signed up for a room with one person. Defendant should have done was find someone to live there and then counterclaim the amount for the boyfriend living there.
Plaintiff strikes me as someone I would never wanna live with . She seems stuck up and I know she is lying about how much the bf was there . Bottom line is a friendship is now over because of petty nonsense
No - leases are still 12 months from Aug 1st to July 31st. Then when non renewals move out on the 31st, the complex does one big turn in about 3 weeks and new move ins come like the 3rd week of August. The complex needs to do this in order to be making money year round or there would be no money coming in for the summer months. Former Student Housing PM here😊
I have rentals in a college town. The two girls were sophomores, meaning they both had two years of college remaining. In most college towns housing is so hard to find that students will often stay in the apartment until they graduate. But consider this. Let's say one is a senior and the other is a junior. The senior may move out after graduation, but the junior still has another year so she may want/need to stay until she graduates.
I don't think this was college housing but more so just a regular apt they leased for the school year. So normally a lease would be for 6 or 12 months. And they also probably didn't plan on going home for the summer.
This is why I’ve never been a fan of the roommate thing. I live in my own house, pay my own bills, and live by my own rules. I don’t want anyone burdening me in my home. I don’t want conflict and misery from others.
Its safe to assume the boyfriend was there A LOT. Its completely unreasonable to the defendant. Honestly, the plaintiff gives such spoiled brat vibes. She seems ridiculously entitled.
‘He wasn’t there that much.’ No, he was there exactly that much. That much being enough for someone NOT on the lease to cause distress to the other person ACTUALLY ON the lease. But nobody died. And the defendant is still infinitely sexier than the other one.

When someone says, "Yes ma'am", she says, "Don't call me that," when someone asks, "If I may" she says, "Don't ask me that." I was raised to always be respectful and "yes ma'am" and "If I may" shows respect. Anyhoo, she's my favorite judge and I can't get enough of her episodes. She is the reason cash never leaves one hand without a receipt in the other hand ❤
boyfriend staying over twice a week is way too much.
One bedroom and she had her boyfriend over 1/3 of the week every week. That’s uncomfortable.
I learned something new on this one!
same room two beds, and one having to lay there while the other one is getting dug out.. Simply disgusting..
The boyfriend was trying to get over on her😂😢
I’m surprised neither of them said “she’s just jealous…”
I know how the defendant feels. My Spring semester of my freshman year of college, my constantly had her boyfriend over. He'd be there when i
I woke up, and when I went to bed. I was so glad when the semester was over.
Have a good week people court family . ❤❤👍🏽 Sunday clocks go forward. Dont forget. ⏰ ☀️
Get the boyfriend to pay half the rent 🤷♀️
ohhhh this is exhausting
I wouldn't be sharing nothing with nobody especially a 1 bed room apartment. Smh both of them are disgusting.😷🤦
Why don’t ppl watch previous cases to know if they can win or not before coming to the show?
6:08 3 days per week then anything extra is deemed as living there for tax purposes so you might as well charge rent
I did same thing, left when a roommate had her bf there but he was abusive and crazy and she hasn’t listen and kick him out so I was out of there 🤷🏻♀️
I disagree...I think the roommate voided their contract by letting her boyfriend take over the other girl's space
Reallllly stupid of the uncle to buy them a dog.
he didnt stay often 3 nights a week, i call that often princess!
I'm side with the defendant. I ain't living with 2 people. I signed up for a room with one person. Defendant should have done was find someone to live there and then counterclaim the amount for the boyfriend living there.
Try not to roommate if possible
This judge is insane. The defendant tried everything to deal with moving out. What is wrong with her.
First person i’ve seen lowkey eat doug up and have the last word lmaoooo
Plaintiff strikes me as someone I would never wanna live with . She seems stuck up and I know she is lying about how much the bf was there . Bottom line is a friendship is now over because of petty nonsense
If the school session ended in May, wouldn't they both be moving out any way?
Isn't that how student apartments work?
I sincerely do not know.
I always went to summer school, too. Great way to knock out a few hours.
I don't think this was college housing but more so just a regular apt they leased for the school year. So normally a lease would be for 6 or 12 months. And they also probably didn't plan on going home for the summer.
Sounds as if this insane judge is siding with this plaintiff. Scolding the defendant who works 70 hours a week and goes to school.
Nope. The problem is one girl has money and the other does not. She can be entitled but she should not pay for it.
This is why I’ve never been a fan of the roommate thing. I live in my own house, pay my own bills, and live by my own rules.
I don’t want anyone burdening me in my home. I don’t want conflict and misery from others.
"when she had the SAME boyfriend" ooooh so that's what broke them apart.
Its safe to assume the boyfriend was there A LOT. Its completely unreasonable to the defendant. Honestly, the plaintiff gives such spoiled brat vibes. She seems ridiculously entitled.
I asked my roommate, why do you never tidy up
the place and he said, because you always do it.
‘He wasn’t there that much.’
No, he was there exactly that much. That much being enough for someone NOT on the lease to cause distress to the other person ACTUALLY ON the lease.
But nobody died. And the defendant is still infinitely sexier than the other one.
that’s BS, she should be obligated to pay to shack up with this girl and her boyfriend.
The girls really seem like good sweet girls. Even gentle in their arguing. 😅 I wish they would make up.
Defendant was envious of plaintiff. That was the true problem.
The defendant was just sick of her spoiled behavior.
Simple..if you share a room, no boyfriend/girlfriend sleepovers. If you have your own romm, then see if the other roommate is alright with occasional sleepovers. Otherwise...court you go.
The question is why do you have to bring in your boyfriend in a shared apartment?
Crazy to share a room for $1000 and have the roommate letting boyfriend sleep over. Daddy let your girl grow up. Your paying your 19 year old rent for her boyfriend to sleep over. Way entitled.
