Oh wow you are so much intelligent in chemistry i love your channel very much because in my chemistry class sir say that you can't know in your whole life how to calculate the balancing equation in chemistry but now I see only 2 video of your channel and i understand how to do it thankyou very much sir
C(x)H(y) + (x+y/4)O2 = (x)CO2 + (y/2)H2O It was beautiful formula. If these numbers don't get constant , then you should multiply the least common multiple. Right?
I always come to you Dr B & I then see how u have these same equations & how u break them down making it so easy to be understood. I can speak for many that u make it so simple for us to understand & not feel like why r we so stuck then we come upon your video & don’t feel so dumb😏...so thanks a million 🤓👏🏼🥰

+Jericho Morcilla Yep, you got it. The whole numbers are easier to see the ratios between compounds when we use the equation to do stoichiometry/calculations. --- Dr. B
No ,its bec there's a fraction of 7/2, 2 is the denominator. To get rid of the 2 at 7/2, u need to times 2 so that it cancels off each other, try typing it on a calculator and u'll get the ans
two because the denominator (bottom number) is two. If the fraction was 1/5 you'd multiply it by five bc 5 is the denominator; you're multiplying it because its the opposite of division, which essentially is a fraction (:
We always Write O2 single we never write it like O . Bcz in the nature there is no one is alone and just bcz of this we have to write O2 and in the reaction we got the O alone so we Write 1/2 O2 bcz we can't write 0.5 O2 bcz it's not in Rule That's it
Don't you need to multiply the subscript by the coefficient, so instead of getting 2,7,4,6 for the coefficients, shouldn't it be 4,12,&14.. Please answer I'm confused
gracias por tu vídeo, soy de latino américa, agradecería que pusieras subtitulos al español. Thanks for your video, I'm from Latin America, I would appreciate it if you put subtitles in Spanish.
Hey, I have a question man-do you have to multiply the entire equation by 2 to get the answer, or can I just leave the co-efficients as the numbers and fraction? If you could post your answer that would be great-I kind of want to pass my chem test (My teacher will beat my *ss if I don't)
Some teachers are good with fractions. Others want whole numbers. Since it's just a ratio of the substances involved in the reaction it doesn't matter from a calculation standpoint. But it really depends on the teacher. - Dr. B
I'm here two years later with the same question, why multiply by 7/2 when if you multiply by 7 it's balanced without multiplying by 2 at the end? I'm sure there's a real reason but I have no idea what it is
That's because I had a fraction and wanted to get it to be a whole number. Since coefficients are just ratios, I multiplied everything by 2 to get whole numbers. That doesn't change the ratio.
i have a question.. so do we have to convert the equation as whole numbers? like would it still be correct if you have 7/2 in your equation or we MUST make it into whole numbers? its a simple question please reply fast! :)
