Sorry for that. I'm watching the whole thing, just got cut off. I'm selling my little vessel. 24 foot that's like 28.5, with bow and stern swim step. Anyway we had to meet, boat broker, go over my vessel. That is ship shape. Even though it's a 2005. The cost of FUEL + we just were NOT using it like when we bought it. The best day in the life of boat OWNERS are Day they bought it and Day they SOLD it. I was so ANAL about it being like a NAVY ship, had to have Redundancy and it be clean. The Broker said it's in nice LOOKING shape for age. ( One owner, US)
I see your point, but I was a bodybuilder aboard a DDG and I did not come back from deployment underweight. Their are not many times when there isnt enough to eat. I do recommend ramen, and other microwavable things, beef jerky, protein powder etc.
Thank you for talking about ( Hygiene) yes TP is a item you MUST buy. surprised to watch a Female talk about Berth's and there Heads were MESSED up. plugged up with plumbing problems. a NAVY ship is just like Head's on any vessel, if you FLUSH the wrong things down it, bad news for your fellow Sailor, they plug up. guess who gets priority on Head repair. The OFFICERS. My question is ships food made to prevent the RUNS. Is it from shore leave with heavy DRINKING. at Sea NO Boz, doesn't the ships food prevent the RUNS. Just asking. Hygiene is So,so important. Keeping the Heads CLEAN. The whole crew area can get SICK if Head is no ship shape. Your talks are A+ on important stuff that in my Humble opinion a new Sailor just think that the NAVY will take care of everything for you. you are your own enemy on that. Can take out a whole crew, just on NOT keeping Heads/ Shower clean. ( CROCKS) a must for foot problems in showers on Ships.
That’s a big no. Unauthorized personal chemicals stored improperly would get you in trouble. We are talking hazmat. Anyplace from a warning to captains mast.
Apply to go in, or work towards going in as an Officer, and only choose a job that will give you skills for when you get out. If you give "X" amount of years to the Navy, then they need to give you something in return. Medical or a trade like electrician etc - a trade that gives you skills to EASILY transfer back into civvie world.
I would think you would break it down by category of top things to bring underway. Sea bag, health and comfort. A good LPO would make sure the work center have a minimum seabag list of what to bring on deployment. With recommendations of extras. Extra shirts, shorts socks. My favorite is extra work boots. Mine fell apart, supply had none, and I had to wait until I could get into port to replace them. My last ship, the work center had a practice of maintaining a morning inspection uniform, then changing into working clothes after quarters. It kind of sucked for them, since the LCPO (me) used the serviceable and clean dirt criteria. So that extra 30 minutes they spent changing got tacked onto the end of the work day. At least they had a spare uniform if needed. Didn’t help that Some of the people wore some really nasty uniforms after they. Changed. That’s when I noted how they looked. . Big fail on the look at me, I’m squared away. Wanted to impress me, know your rate, do your job. Liked the health and comfort about crocks, towels, shower caddy. Snacks and comfort food too. Don’t forget to mention the limited space. And how it should have long shelf life. I seen a mention of bringing your own Lysol spray. Good possibility tha would be confiscated. Every chemical on the ship will have a msds be properly stored etc. the Navy has good disinfectants. It’s the compartment cleaners that either do a good job or not. That’s also when you can get a personal roll of TP.
Watch till the end for a surprise!

i would want to bring Lysol and spray it all over the place(and let it sit). i'm guessing my shipmates would appreciate the gesture.

Makes a difference but can’t flush them
What rate do you think I should enlist as? I am pretty tall about 6,5 and nothing I really want so what would you recommend?
I don’t think the height will effect your rate it’s really what lifestyle you wanna have and hobbies
