This is just amazing on what you learn on this channel. Who knew all that on keeping a horses teeth in great shape for whatever it might be involved in. I had no idea that horses had baby teeth. Being not a horse person this is all so amazing to watch. She really knows her stuff all the way around and explains it so well on what she is doing and why she is doing it. Looking forward to part 2.
Equine dentistry has always fascinated me. I am lucky to have an equine dentist that has taught many of the equine dentists of today in the Idaho school. He has flown all over and worked on many of the top horses of our industry. I always emphasize incisor work, incisor work, incisor work! If those aren't ground down and leveled then you will always have problems. I have seen vets mechanically "float" teeth and never touch the incisors. If you are going to go to a mechanical level you better do it all. Your girl knows her stuff. Send her out to CA for us horse folks. We barely have anyone good.
Wow she knows her stuff! Answered my question about horses in the wild ♥️ Mick, my tongue goes crazy when the dentist is in my mouth too LOL 🤣 And if you think these sounds are bad, you should hear a hand floating 😩 I get the heebie jeebies just thinking about it! Can’t wait for part 2!!
Sarah definitely knows what she’s doing and how to make it easy on the horse ! She did a great job !👏 Awesome video 🐎 Looking forward for part two ! Hope all is well with you and your family ! God bless !🙏🏻🇨🇱
Great video Jason It took me about 25 years before I learned how important it is to take care of my horses teeth. I am lucky to have a good vet locally that it great with teeth.
This was so interesting to me! As I worked 8 - 5 job, I would drop my boy off at the vet (who I trusted explicitly) for full checkup, coggins, vaccines, float - the works ... He would give me a full written report. But, I have never seen it actually done! This year I'm going to a new vet in Arapaho (mine retired) to get everything done ... But this time I will be able to stay and watch (I'm almost retired!) Thanks for the info! now I know what to expect.
I’ve been on 2 horses in my 60 years and neither one ended well for me, so needless to say I’m not a horse person, but I love everything about the ranch life and this was one of your best videos and you’ve done a bunch of great videos!! Thank You Jason for allowing us to tag along, much appreciated!!
Wonderful information on the dental work, horses teeth and jaw plus things to help the horses stay healthy. Good questions. She explained all aspects of this better than any other I've seen videos of equine dental health. Thanks for sharing 🤩
Very interesting, Sarah is very professional. I watch Dr. Pol float horses teeth with a manual tool that he drags back and forth. She earned her keep today. Thanks for the video! Ken
lm surprised the young lady grinding the horses teeth doesnt wear protective glasses , dust n pieces of teeth l imagine could damage the delicate eyes ... maybe lm wrong in my thoughts !
@@long_gone24 l understand , hard to do the cleaning and protect yourself , thankyou for reply to my question , lm a veterinarian so l see the problems , perhaps a visor would be better than safety glasses ... personly l think you know what your doing and know the risks , lm from the uk , l can see you do the floating properly , l would certainly recommend you to my customers !
A very fine and knowledgeable young woman. I like to see that and to learn from you both. Looking forward to part 2. Wish we had dentists like her in our area here in the 805.
Same. We are in the East Bay of CA. I am lucky enough to have a semi-retired equine dentist that lives in my town that will come out for me. He is truly the O.G. of equine dentists. If he fully retires I don't know who to use!
That was very interesting!! She is very good at educating....but I just have to ask what she was doing underneath the horse I rewatched that part but I still didn't understand. Thought to myself "there are no teeth down there lady...what's that have to do with teeth!"🤣🤣🤣
The problem with feeding on the ground is the horse picks up parasites when it eats. Fighting parasites is a hard fight, and the ground adds to the problem.
If you put mats down then it shouldn't be an issue. Also if feeding in a large area and you rotate their feeding areas it keeps the manure down. I feel that however you can feed that keeps their head down is way better. Their sinuses drain properly, their chewing lines up correctly and they are just healthier.

Am I ever thankful my dentist has not found one of these "dental tools." LOL A most instructive and interesting video. Sarah does a fantastic job.

It is a problem sometimes, I’ve tried wearing glasses but they get too dirty and I can’t see properly.. hazards of the job!

When she was pushing the horse back was she just trying to keep his feet under him?
Yes
This is so important for horse health. Once a year is best.

Parasites are found in baled hay as well as grass in our pastures. We worm our horses multiple times throughout the year.
Another informative video! Great stuff as always sir. Keep’em coming.
I wish my dentist used whatever sedative you gave your horse! 😂
Lol. I was thinking the same thing. Looked stoned.
Good education!
I’m glad the weekly video’s are back, keep-um coming!!
Floating teeth, grinding teeth.....meaning of reality of....ranch life.
Oh yes another video. Thanks Jason. Pls keep them coming.
Neat video. There’s no doubt Sarah knows what she’s doing.
I have a Bluey in New Zealand, great vids and good dogs!
Love your cow dogs. Cow dogs are the best !!!
Dental work for horses? I freaking have to get shit done on my own teeth that pretty much is similar..lol
Without dental/medical treatment we ALL die younger. Horses, dogs and HUMANS….duh. Compare wild life expectancy to ‘civilized’ life expectancy
And remember to floss! It’s good for your heart!
Greatvideo
Did I see Bluey?
You did
