We're going to find his antlers........yeah, right! And you find them, amazing! Around here if you find an antler, it's an accident! We don't have enough deer, plus 2 four lane highways to cull everything. Big, little, whatever get knocked off. Nice to see what happens when you can get a deer to live to maturity and how the antlers grow over the years.

    WOW!
Not gonna lie, I'm realllly glad y'all didn't cull Max. I get the rush of taking a big deer down, but man, those are the genetics you REALLY want to keep around! Especially if he's keen enough to survive this long, he'd be a good mentor for younger versions of himself!
    Handsome, handsome boy!!
When you said you got more of a thrill out of culling the junkers I smiled. I would too! Max is making you change your game up a little!! Yeah, I'd be trying to make the entire harem Max's so the standard deer on property was like him! Quasi-cloning, but au naturale. Take THAT you politicians! 😆
Quite a rack on display there, gonna be a sad day when you find the last set.
I know you & Todd talked about how big deer are the norm now compared to a few years back when y'all were hunting the bigguns, but have you ever saw a younger deer and KNEW he was Max's spawn? By just looking at him?
I've seen what you mean about Max stepping up to the feeder on your trail cam footage you've released, the others just step away and wait til he's done. At first I wasn't sure if it was because he kept everyone in check as Boss Man or if they just didn't want to dance with that rack at the feeder😂
Do his antlers tell tales of combat at all? You mentioned how he's a bit skittish and would run from you, but I was curious if ALL animals steer clear of him because he's an ass kicker. Or you think he's just a runner and that's how he's survived so long? I'm curious about combat scarring on his antlers for sure.
LOVE having you in the INBOX! Can't wait for more footage of the new nameless horse, looking forward to see how he's come along! He seemed like a nice good boy who was eager to learn and to please. Give him a pat from Betty!
Hope this finds y'all well and in good health! I've recently gotten into kefir fermented milk and I'm buzzing right now with vitamin B, so I'm off to jam my hands into some potting soil again. Got some plants to split and repot....I thought gardening in the desert was tough (I lived in Las Vegas most of my adult life), but I'll tell you what...western Washington is the pits. For a LOT of reasons, but the sun just doesn't exist here. I fantasize about the sun you get down there. Sometimes I've even paused your videos at certain points just to mill over what I'd plant there, or there or over there🤣
If ever you see a visage of some phantom gardening in the misty hours of the morning...it's probably me. Sorry if I spook you🤣
Take care and see you when we see you!!👋
