- Starting from the step that you are on is a concept, we should all embrace. This concept can be applied to any work or personal situation. But in order to move forward, you have to put yourself out there enough to try and not worry too much about failing. It's the experience rather than the task that gives you the trajectory to the next step.

Im doing this as a writer. I whole heartedly agree. Start on the step you're on. Be open to the possibility that everything will work out as long as you lead with passion.

Really good advice. I never thought when I was designing bridal accessories years ago that I'd be writing about a fashion designer now. I guess creativity is creativity.

Our society looks down on getting older so much, but I can’t wait for the day that I’m no longer scared of paying my bills. 😅

I used to decorated little things, making floral arrangements for events, selling decorations with dry flowers. I study interior design. Then courses to install windows displays. I became window dresser....I loved it!!❤
I currently work in visual merchandising where I get to style the manni looks (& much more) and often times my friends & family ask to be a personal stylist 😂
I’ve styled my sister for a couple of seasons and I’m always the go to person if they need help for a event or date night.
I’ve thought about being a stylist but I’m not much of a “people person” 😬
I’ll stick to styling the mute mannequins 😂

I started at Ross Dress For Less. Answered the phone and found a skirt for a nice woman on the phone. She was the head of HR at Bullock's. She told me anytime I wanted to make a change come see her. I said how about Monday at 10:30 AM?. That was the start. Of decades of retail. Unfortunately, all of the stores are closed. Bullocks, Broadway, Lamonts, Fredrick & Nelson, The Bon Marche, and Macy's.

I'd love it if you could do a video for the plus size girlies who are struggling to find their style.. I feel like everything I see on others and try doesn't work for me
I like to sew, but I don’t like the frenzied pace of the fashion world. So I sew for me.
I feel like this younger generation expects to be given high paying jobs and positions they don't qualify for right off the bat. The whole idea of having to pay your dues is a foreign concept these days 🤦🏻♀️
People would likely be more happy with entry level positions if wage stagnation and the rise in prominence of unpaid internships meant that they could hold those positions while making enough money to live above the poverty line.
I'm plus size and 50 plus and still don't know my style 😢
It takes time to develop your own personal style, be patient, try new things, and it will come!
But did your parents financially help you? If so, how much?
