Hey MD! It definitely seems like you went the extra mile with the editing on this one and it turned out really good! Love the new look for the rainbows
Your tanks continue to blow me away. I’m taking most of my cues from you in researching for my first set up. Definitely low-tech, planted tanks are the way to go. Love your videos!
That looks amazing MD. Congrats on yet another epic tank build. Your rainbow colours look stunning and I think you can see them in their full glory now.
I've learned that the reason why some people struggle with Vallisneria, is down to water chemistry. Specifically, a lack of calcium in the water. One thing I've found that works is to put a small seashell somewhere in the tank where it can't be seen. Did it once and the vallis took over the tank.
@MDFishTanks you could use one or two of the escargot shells you have for your African shell dweller cichlids or use one larger sea shell that is a lot thicker and it should last a lot longer (over a year) depending on your water hardness
Das Becken ist sehr schön geworden. Es hat viel freien Raum für die schwimmfreudigen Regenbogenfische, bietet aber auch Rückzugsmöglichkeiten für gestresste Weibchen oder unterlegene Männchen! 😀
You have an eye for design. The balance of hardscape, sand, and plants is so appealing. Sometimes I think you start out with more plants than you need, given that they will all grow, but the living picture created is lovely even before the fish join the scene.
I've been using peace lilllie's and other plants like sweet potato, carrot tops, etc, for years. They make the best filtration ever. I have never used any electric filters in my aquariums for years. Just a small power head or air stone near the heater to make sure the warm water circulates around the aquarium. Obviously I wouldn't keep large cichlids in this type of aquarium, but tetra's and dwarf cichlids absolutely love this type of set up. Thanks for the fantastic content MD.
That is a great and easy setup. Very simple yet effective. You should give a breakdown of the cost of plants as well specially for someone starting up. Another great job.
It's been a hell of a day so seeing MD post a new video was great news! The tank is wonderful MD and I'm really happy the Rainbows now have more room to shine! You might get babies after this move!
At the start of the show I thought "Woah what sad music" And then you go onto say that you're sad, nailed it. That Peace Lily is amazing, we just got one to help with house humidity. Love the Cory's! Yay!
this is so beautiful, although i still think you should get some more bosemani rainbows to replace the astonishing big ones that you lost when you went on holiday and the filter clogged
What a perfect eye for detail.. That's some amazing and incredibly fast scaping here. You've become a real artist, you know :) And thank you so, so much for sharing your ideas!
Gorgeous! (but you know that). I would love to have Dwarf Neons. Really wanted some Blue Eyes and Gertrude Rainbows (but unfortunately they only live about a year). Love my husband's Bosemani. Rainbows are just awesome! Still waiting for the Angels to go in the 8 foot. ;)
Been looking forward to this episode for a while being a Rainbow fish keeper! Great setup for them, you made the right decision with the extra swim room!
I really admire your content for years... "keeping a hundred aquariums" is no easy feat. May I give a suggestion on testing? Dive your arm with your thumb closing the test glass. Pick water from the "most central part of the aquarium". I believe will give a more "correct reading". Your work is amazing and a great contribution on making this beautiful hobby more popular!
I just watched keeping fish simples Gary Lange fishroom tour, and between your tank and Garys room, inspired me to setup a 55 gal Rainbow planted tank. Cheers❤
Great job sir...... U r n inspiration for those who think aquascaping is all about putting expensive stuff like aqua soil o CO2.... But rather than that u can use basic substrate which u can get free of cost river near by. Have learn alot from u sir. TQ
This tank turned out really nice, i heard you said you had 2 kuhli loaches? Id reccomend getting a few more since they can sometimes be a social bottom feeder but besides that this tank looks awesome and the plants are so vivid and healthy
My daughter and I spent some time yesterday after work walking along the lake shore, picking up rocks and driftwood that look very similar... very cool indeed sir.
Looks a lot like a scape I did for my African dwarf frogs but on a much larger scale. Used lots of river rocks I collected from a local stream and they vary in color. Love it! Beautiful. I need another tank 😂
Yes, I'm also back to normal river pebbles by my last scape. I was able to buy it cheaply as coarse Rhine gravel at the garden center. Combined with river sand, it looks more natural than the usual combination of sand lava stone or sand seiryu stone. 😀
I still remeber where you got those big rocks from MD i think it was from your mother in laws garden , and i love its a oart of the process new scapes and thats what we hobbyists love 😍
Another amazing tank, thank you SO much for showing everything step by step! I'm planning a 600 litre tank at the moment and will definitely following some of your tips. Keep up the awesome work!
Those are the biggest bunches of buce and anubias I've ever seen... just thinking of how much they would cost is doing my head in. Absolutely gorgeous 😍.
Maybe you can buy seeds and set up a tank or two and incubate your own. I just bought some aquarium grass seeds. Fingers crossed I successfully germinate them. 😊💭

I'm having a huge issue with BBA at the moment. I love looking at your aquariums as they look so clean and fresh. I've just bought AlgExit so hopefully that'll help. Keep up the awesome work as I love your videos!

Video 19 of asking for a tank with some freshwater dolphinfish please.
MD, when you going to start using sumps to manage most of ur tanks? Cut down on all the filter maintenance?? One big sump.. 👍
Love how your go to comparison to clear water was "Like Gin".
I'm suprised the previous scape lasted so long, but the new one looks great.
Hey MD! It definitely seems like you went the extra mile with the editing on this one and it turned out really good! Love the new look for the rainbows
The Peninsula tank was the reason I got my own rainbow tank. Thank you so much for making these videos!
The tank turned out really nice as usual!
Imagine an 8 ft tank full of rainbows!

09:50 the hardscape looks like fish! 🐟

makes sense. I'll give this a try. Im guessing shell size will be dependent on water volume, but what size shell would you say for 100 litres (26 gal)
@MDFishTanks you could use one or two of the escargot shells you have for your African shell dweller cichlids or use one larger sea shell that is a lot thicker and it should last a lot longer (over a year) depending on your water hardness
Yeah, vallisneria is one of the few plants that actually prefers harder water to soft water.
Rainbows also like harder water. Would be perfect for this tank
Little bit of cuttlefish bone should do the trick
Other people have commented on the swim room, but look at all that soft sand! The corys will love to shift through that
Das Becken ist sehr schön geworden. Es hat viel freien Raum für die schwimmfreudigen Regenbogenfische, bietet aber auch Rückzugsmöglichkeiten für gestresste Weibchen oder unterlegene Männchen! 😀
Those laundry buckets from the supermarket are so useful for tank maintenance or changing your tank around..👍
Your best Rainbow fish hardscape to date!
Amazing as usual.
It’s a beautiful set up MD, very pleasing to the eye. The fish look great. Thanks for the video!
Love the different color rocks ❣️ now please don’t let the plants grow over & hide all of them 😁
You have an eye for design. The balance of hardscape, sand, and plants is so appealing. Sometimes I think you start out with more plants than you need, given that they will all grow, but the living picture created is lovely even before the fish join the scene.
From the moss tank to the peninsula and to this!! Your rainbow tanks are always amazing

I've always found dark substrate brings out the most color in fish
I totally agree same with the plants especially red plants
awsome edditing! Greetings from Holland.

When u placed the first wood, I remembered the Electric Blue Acara tank of yours. That was an epic tank! My favourite!❤️
Good work incorporating more music and cinematic scenes for us to enjoy your work and the fish more. keep it up!

Much better for the rainbows md,they love swim room, well done mate!👌👍
Beautiful scape as always. The fish will be loving the room they now have ❤🐟
