Yeah, I guess internal slots will have a lots of extra fuel tanks on my build, eventhough I have a FC and those extra tanks will cut jump range. Need to reach those distant planets.

True, but problem is medium ships are both the main portion of the grind and PvP experience. Makes sense to fill out this segment first whilst having a nice quad selection of big ships to work towards
I just got elite yesterday. I am enamored with the idea of exploring the galaxy. I'm going to spend my whole day off figuring it out. I've decided to start the game owning the Mandalay. I will learn the basics in whatever ship the game gives me, but I want to be able to get to the 'third star on the left' as quickly as possible.

I love my Mandalay. I'm currently about 20000 LY away from the bubble towards the east and just found my first Earth planet for this expedition. The way that the Mandalay does exploration if properly fitted out and engineered can't be overstated. My new favorite ship. Her name is Gone Fishin.....

I've certainly had disagreements with her policy ideas in the past, but I also have some disagreements with Prime Minister Mahon's policy ideas in the present. I still support Mahon for now, but my family has lived in the Old Worlds for many generations, and if Kaine can get that eyesore Chariot of Rhea out of my home system then I may have to switch banners.

Noob here, I have had elite for YEARS but jump in play of a bit then leave. I broke down and bought the Mandalay Stellar, support FDEV but now I am a few hundred Ly out and there is nothing around lol... There has other be stations out here somewhere.
I find it unfair that SCO drives have all the advantages : overdrive AND higher jump range. Also, it means my old engineered normal drive can be thrown to the bin.
Bought the Stellar because heho its my money. Getting into supercruise with it and it's just so damn nimble normally I might have slammed into a planets OC drop a bit too fast when I was orbiting it bleeding speed! So used to ships being slugish in SC, even Imperial Couriers or Eagles feel slower in turning, nevermind the yaw rate. With a bit of time I plan on outfitting a new hull for AX with quad shard cannons and a gauss cannon even. Maybe make the Glaives and Scythes nimbleness look like an Orca trying to fit through an asteroid field if I do it right.
And OMG the heat management feels on par with the Dolphin, as in I can sit close enough to a star for fuel scooping whilst charging myself FSD without hitting 70% temp. The quality of life!!! 😁
This Suckers $20 which is more than I payed for ED and Odyssey Combined! and The Powers help you if you get blown up without a Rebuy insurance... There goes another $30

That doesn't mean anything. That just means you can walk up the stairs. We're probably never going to see ship interiors. We don't really need them either. We've got star citizen for that. We don't need every game to have everything.
It will be still much better if there would be an exit ship animation on the stairs instead of the current popping out of existance somewhere on the ground.
I am surprised how bad this thing looks in-game. Just because the game is 5 years old doesn't mean new stuff also has to look like it was made 50 years ago.
