RE: VW Polo 2016 (pre facelift). There is substantially less clearence which prevents you from grabbing and twisting the old one out. i popped it out with a screwdriver and didnt have any damage to the hole. So defo recommend as potentially some models have limited room. Dont bother trying to twist i have very small hands and couldnt. Thanks to the poster this was a really clear video.
@@PatchedThePipe it could still be the blower resistor, if you have a multi meter you can test it if you pull it out. Check continuity on the earth leg and all of the others, if no continuity it's bad 👍
Just fixed mine before I came across this video, did you take the old resister out by rotating it inside the hole, the video I watched before I did the job told me to pry it out with a screwdriver, which I think made me damage the hole (luckily the new resistor still fit inside)
The resistor won't change this at all, it only changes the fan speed. Yours is probably something else If your fan only works on max and nothing before that the resistor is dead.

Thank you, now I know where that clip that fell out goes (2:26)
Having same problem with my 2014 polo.. although blower works on both 3 and 4... do you suspect is still resistor.?

@@hmwh4t yeah I think by memory it rotates into place 👍
Having the same problem in my Polo, how did you attach the resistor? Was there any soldering/crimping required?
@@mikebarnes6198 no soldering or crimping, it plugs onto the stock VW plug 👍
Hello mate, my ac doesn’t work at all. Is the solution the safe by changing the resistor ?

“Probably the same guy who faked the emissions” 😂
He was a busy man I'm sure!
Still can't get glove box out there's another fastening after 2 hours cannot find somewhere on left hand side at bottom just can't find it 😮
My local garage wanted a small fortune to do same thing! I’ve done without…
Not that bad of a job to do yourself if you've got small hands 😆 about £15 it cost me for the part
How much did they want to charge you 😂 maybe it was worth the hassle depending on the price because this really tired me out
It's not to bad if you've got small hands, I do not 😆
