I'm still really not certain what Stav ever meant by "What was Johnny's Comeback", he never really had a comeback. His string of success was from the mid 80's into the late 2000's, and then he kinda just had a string of dogshit onward, I wouldn't have said Johnny was ever "back". Hollywood just kept using him for the occasional project cause the Pirates stuff was always pretty bankable and he just kinda permanently had celebrity status.
The "low point" of his career box office-wise was between Ed Wood and Donnie Brasco. He was making weirder pictures with less crossover potential. Still interesting, though, including Dead Man. That is one of his very best roles.
