Cheers Olly. Things that make me smile: Rusty's tiny piece of chalk, Haxby Shed's torn gloves and your stopped clock 😂 I did away with the mechanical clock in the workshop -it ticked too loudly on camera. Anyhow, thanks for another video. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Paul. I don't think the hardening was terribly successful, but it managed to smear the thread back into shape. It's only going to work on an existing thread. There's no chance it'll cut anything!
eyup Olly nice bit of Dentistry on the nut, and an assitant to help. Knurled nuts will save looking for lost spanners🤣🤣 Nearly half way now, "keep on keeping on!!"👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 atb Kev
Mornin' Olly, good practical solution, well impressed by the teeth cutting and hardening, I would have gone straight to cutting the nut in two. Talking of cutting teeth you can tell your new apprentice that down here we don't have the tooth fairy instead a little mouse called Ratoncito Perez comes to take the tooth away. Here's a free Spanish lesson for her: Rata = Rat Raton = mouse If you add an "cito" at the end of most words it means that it is smaller so Ratoncito = little mouse Have a great Sunday!!
Yes, I could, but as the thread was chewed I needed a nut to clean it up and 4 nuts was the smallest number I could buy, so I may as well use them. It's a size I'm unlikely to need again.
Interesting approach Olly, and good to see you now have some help in the workshop, there will be no stopping you now!!!
Wasn't the greatest of solutions, but it was worth a try. The apprentice is a bit unreliable at the moment ☹️
Cheers Olly.

I'm not a fan of ticking clocks either. That's probably why I never change the battery, I prefer the silence. Maybe an electronic clock project 🤔🤔
Hello Olly,
I must admit I would not have thought about that way of cleaning the tread but it did work well so hats off to you.
Take care.
Paul,,
It did work, but only just!
Nice work Olly! Like your idea of making a split die - I'm sure I'll be pinching that at some point!

Funnily enough I had that thought this morning. A job for next year perhaps!
Hi Olly. What a clever idea to make your own chasing die. Another to add to my memory bank.
Oh to have an apprentice. Hope she is diligent 👍😀
Thanks Andrew. The apprentice is a bit unreliable at the moment.☹️🤣
It looked like that turned out well. Some good tips in this video, thanks
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
She's editing your videos while you are fixing stuff. Nice teamwork :)
If only she could. Then I could just tinker....

Thanks David. I'll give the kids a little Spanish lesson.
Gday Olly, if it works it’s a good thing and it worked, looks like you won’t have to do any computer work now, that jobs is covered, cheers
Thanks Matty. I just need to teach her video editing now!
If I had thought to do this, I’d have put the tooth facing the wrong way. Great idea
It took a bit of thinking on my part to make sure it was right!
You could have 3d printed a stop but also. For a drill press stop nut it would have worked.
