Yeah I get them second hand, then use them for a couple of months and then sell them again. So most of the time if I find good deals I don't lose money or lose only a little bit.
Because they report the wrong number via software/driver, they measure only the powered delivered to the core and VRAM but not the losses of the vrms or other parts of the board, making it unreliable and not comparable to Nvidia and also a smaller value than what the card is really drawing from the power supply
2080 or super? Desc and title say 2080 but the video intro says Super. Either way, interesting results that are in spec for what most expect. The 3060 gave a decent showing but it was behind the other two. The 6700xt was fastest but not significantly faster than the 2080, which seems in spec as many compare it to a 2080ti. I also have to say, for power usage the 3060 is alright but the 6700xt really is efficient of the 3, providing good performance and a reasonable power draw. The 2080 reminds me of a happier time when high end cards didn't require 400+ watts. I like my 6700xt but I think the people who bought the 2080ish tier of cards really won the GPU race considering the horrible crypto craze happened shortly after.
Hey, it's the regular RTX 2080, not the super, its a typo xD. And yeah, the rtx 2080 have aged really well, they are not that power efficient compared to newer nodes but still run relatively fast and are not that far from features, power consumption and performance compared to the RTX 3000 series, so are a really good second hand option now and have been for a while. I want to try the RTX 2080 ti soon, and see how it compares to the RTX 3070 and 3060 ti as it will be interesting especially on VRAM and with the RX 6700 XT as they are similar in VRAM and general performance.
3060 is about the same speed as 2070 Super (not 2080 Super), the non XT 6700 is about the same as vanilla 2080 (ie no super). The 6700 XT is between 2080 Super and 2080 Ti
With an external device that measures the PSU cables directly and the power going through the pcie slot, so you can get the real value that the GPU is using, but I add the one that the driver is reporting too with the rest of the data.
That's the launch pricing or MSRP, not the price it has right now. The actual one can vary a lot depending on the country, shop, date and the card state.
For 3 cards that are in the same price range, I think it's clear which is the best value. I don't think fake trash talking about the competition is working any more.
From my experience testing all these GPUs at least now AMD drivers are far more stable than Nvidia ones. I have had a lot of minor problems with Nvidia, and just a big driver related one with AMD in all this time. Also the AMD drivers are far more usable, have more features and are more user friendly than the Nvidia ones. So in my opinion AMD drivers are miles ahead from Nvidia's
@@teflonstestbench That's why the old bucket from nVidia fanboys won't hold water any more. When you add better performance for the cost, AMD is usually a smarter choice for gamers in my opinion. There are certainly other computer tasks where nVidia might shine. I don't do any of those.
