    The best part about this video is that you put all the info for the oil change in the thumbnail. The real MVP!

    I always get a screwdriver and make a hole in the filter so it drains. Makes unscrewing much easier by not having oil drain all down the sides.

    I was hoping to see a ‘special - better’ filling funnel arrangement. Tough for me to put all of the new oil where it belongs. How do the dealer techs add the new oil?

    So glad you made this video. I’m about to do mine this week - it’s at 70k and I’m hearing what sounds to me like the very beginning of a stuck lifter so I’m planning to add some transmission fluid into the oil - I’ve also disabled DOD, just curious if you think that’s enough to prevent a stuck lifter or would I need to do the dod delete? Are you considering this as well?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Год назад

      I’m hearing the only way to fix the DOD issue is a physical delete, but turning it off may help when it does fail. I am considering the physical delete. I’m at 89,000 miles so I’m getting nervous. If I decide to delete it you’ll see a video for sure

    Great Video THANK YOU!!!
    This and your Tail Light Repair are clutch! You break it down so simply it's easy to follow along and repeat on my truck. Recommended your videos to a half dozen people I k ow that have Yukon's and GMC suv's.
    - Quick question, usually when I would get an oil change at my local place, I'd usually say, "oil and lube".
    Are there any lube points we should regularly lubricate or are those all "sealed" with these newer cars???
    Any advice or pointing in right direction would be much appreciated.
    (until you make a video on it, LoL!) TIA!
    Once again, thank you & great work!!!

      I believe it’s only the outer tie Rod ends that have grease fittings since about 2007. If they charge you for it ask them next time to point out what they lube and see what they say 😀

    I just purchased a 2015 Cadillac Escalade would it be the same process? Thank you

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  4 года назад +2

      Yes. Double check capacities, but to my knowledge it has the exact same engine as my Yukon 6.2L

    Is your Yukon 4x4 ? Did you did any lift?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  3 года назад

      It is 4x4 with Sierra AT4 wheels. The wheels are the same overall size as the 22” but it looks more meaty with an off road tire ruclips.net/video/Jngnmm-wXnw/видео.html

    Trying to figure out how to prevent the lifter failure.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Год назад

      Though oil changes and turning off the cylinder management may help a little, it doesn’t sound like there is any way around it other than physically deleting it removing the cylinder heads and installing the plugs and entire kit

      If you are not having lifter issues you deactivate the afm/dod thru a tune of your ecm or a range device that stays plugged into your obd2 port while driving. I deactivated mine on my 2016 yukon with a tune. I'll do a physical delete when/if I have a lifter problem

      @@kaiserwillie67 yes - did so as well, I think I do have a bad lifter and will be confirming shortly using the same method Danny showed in his video - wish me luck!

    I got same truck. I accidentally got the Mobil 1 full synthetic , without Dexos. Already did oil change. Will I be ok til next oil change then I can get one that’s mobil 1 Dexos?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Год назад +1

      I believe it’s fine. I’ve ran it without dexos 2 oil changes now. Dexos is just a GM specific certification but any good oil should also meet the same standards as long as it’s the right weight.
