So many titles I've never heard of before. Thanks for sharing! I also really like the fact that you showed actual game play and not just a bunch of cut scenes like other channels do.
They are great for newcomers. But veterans like myself and many others are hoping for something more expansive, deep, and challenging. 3 houses was incredible, but we don't get them like that very often in this genre. Unicorn Overlord looks VERY promising. Because veterans are ready to handle huge rosters and complex mechanics. Far to many TRPGs and SRPGs are a bit too simplified to make them accessible to newcomers, but because of that, vets rarely see anything they haven't already seen. A good example of what vets are looking for was ALMOST made on the PC (A game called glorius companions that allowed parties up to 30 at a time, with branching classes and skill trees and high difficulty, but it was sadly abandoned by its creators. Heres hoping there are devs out there who remember the veterans and make something massive, detailed, and expansive sooner rather than later. And I know people love the pixel art-games, but something more visual like three houses or Lost Eidolons are also sorely needed.
@MidnightBlackandVictoria Have you checked out Redemption Reapers? The gameplay isn't that complicated, but it has a fun combo element to it, and the visuals and presentation are excellent. The OST is especially amazing.
Nice! While there'd be quite a few games I'd add to the list there now were only games I havent yet played or have played and liked; no games that I jave played and not liked (ok, Banner Saga and Valkyrie Chronicles I didnt give a fighting chance back in the days) but the most wow factor for me was the forst snippets of Front Mission remakes I saw. I still remember loving the Front Mission 3 on Playstation 1 back in the days nut mever expected the remakes to look so fresh. Definitely putting them on my radar with quite a bit of other ones I already had written down on my to-play list.
I'm currently loving Fell Seal with its expansion, and I'm at the 55 hour mark. It really helped mem scratch an itch of a new Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for a fair price until Triangle Strategy and Tactics Ogre come to GOG (they probably never will, but a man can dream, and enjoy Fell Seal a lot).
I plan to create an FF Tactics clone with Unity or Godot 😅Maybe with an ancient Greek or medieval fantasy story and multiplayer networking feature for Android and Steam platforms. Is the market for tactical JRPG is currently too saturated?
Excellent, excellent video! My first time ever playing TBS games go back to the GBA playing “Tactics Ogre: Knights Of Lodis“, Final Fantasy Tactics” and “Advanced Wars”. After playing those games I have been a huge fan of the genre whether on the screen, or on a table. With that said I have to say Tactics Ogre is my top fave on the list, but wish that skirmish mode was added. Thanks again for the video 👍🏾
Hello im interested in the dungeon of naheulbeuk the amulet of chaos but i heard there are a lot of problems on switch. Does anyone know if they patched up?
Can’t they just port Tactics to switch already, and give us online multiplayer, so we can battle each other 5v5…and maybe even give us some extra content, make it worthwhile and exciting…I’d pay $60 for that…he’ll, i would consider $70 for that…
@TurnBasedLovers 13 Sentinels did a neat thing dividing the story segments from the battles, but intertwining them to make both necessary. I found it really innovative in that respect. Worth a play if you haven't. It's not technically turn based, more ATB style, but it's so fun you won't care.
Tactics ogre is unarguably the best on this list. In regards to Balance and Performance. I pretty much Played all of them. Cant recommend Divinity 2 for Switch. Its Runs horrible, loading Times are unbearable and crashed frequent
@@NicoBlackXIV maybe i have to give this another Go. Back then (3 yrs?) it felt tedious and pretty Lackluster. Classes have been fun and reminded me of good old FFT. Yet the Story was Not existent (thus 0 Character development). And the drowning mechanic sucked ass, especially on Higher difficulties when enemies have teleport.
Please let's stop pretending Triangle Strategy doesn't shame FFT while embarrassing itself with abysmal progression and frustrating sub-systems. Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark is the better (and more faithful) successor to FFT by a fucking landslide. The more y'all pretend Triangle Strategy isn't a bloody disappointment, the less likely it is that we'll ever get the FFT successor we want and deserve.
@gitjiggybruh Which is absolutely fine. To an extent I liked it too, it's objectively a good game. Still it cannot be anything better than a disappointing for anyone that's still hoping for worthy FFT successor. Progression is a big thing for TRPGs and this game doesn't have any.
Triangle is a clasic jrpg with a tactic combat if you look out that way its a great game the problem is that every one puts it as a succesor of fft when cant be more diferent than this one
I love games like these. So learning the Switch has all of these makes me a happy lad.
Same here, been having such a good time just looking for a game to play😂
So many titles I've never heard of before. Thanks for sharing!

Grazie 😊
Your list has a lot of titles i hadnt even heard of before that have peaked my interest. Thanks so much.
Grazie a te 👌😉
Honorable mention for Advance Wars Reboot Camp. Loved replaying thise games this year, wish it showd my hours, must have been over 100!
ohh, so you played them for 20 minutes right!?!?!.... :)
The Mercenaries games are so great. Very accessible too. They deserve alot more praise.

unicorn overlord is the best tactical rpg this year, you guys should play this game
Fell Seal is my favourite game on the switch and a worthy successor to fft.
Personally I don't like the graphic style of Fell Seal, but it does have a solid class and skills mechanics.
Fell Seal is WAAAAAAAY better than Triangle Strategy and A LOT more similar to FFT if you disregard the graphic style.
Hard rec on Dark Deity. It’s an amazing game.
I plan to create an FF Tactics clone with Unity or Godot 😅Maybe with an ancient Greek or medieval fantasy story and multiplayer networking feature for Android and Steam platforms. Is the market for tactical JRPG is currently too saturated?
Saturated?! I don't think so. Especially if you try to innovate with new mechanics here and there :)
@@TurnBasedLovers Yeah I'll try to add them
Not saturated. Only Fire Emblem is big name right now. Plenty of room for the niche to grow
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 Thanks bro. I might have to leave my office job to develop my dream game
forget about steam world heist !! one of the best tactical turn base out there (must play on elite mod)
Try Brigandine: Legend of Runersia.. This series was revived, since the previous title back in ps1.. It has a cult following as well..
Indeed. Thank you 👍😊
The original Brigandine was a favorite of mine as a kid. The Switch sequel is solid but still not as good as the original. Nothing compares to it IMO.
❤
Disgaea 5 is sooooooooooooo addictive
I’m about 250 hours of grinding pleasure in and there’s no sign of it ending any time soon
I LOVED TRIANGLE STRATEGY BUT HATED OCTOPATH TRAVELER. I LOVE FFT as a kid and TS is the best thing since. Cut all the TS hate.
TS are a masterpiece.
This is the best list ever!
Grazie mille :)

GBA has some great games. Never had one, but I remember emulating on PC was my only way to try some. Thank you so much for your message 😊😊😊
Wait, I saw that wheel of time quote in dark deity, they can't slide that by me lmao
Godfather pt. II was so good
Agreed. III really wasn't as bad as people made it out to be as a film by itself.
Good list bro you have a taste.
Grazieee
Amazing video man! Thanks for the list! :D
Grazie mille 😊 😊 😊
have you tried Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia
Indeed. Is a great missing of this video 👍👍
Super Robot Wars X V T and 30. All great games
Fell Seal Arbiter's Mark is the best choice on this list
Indeed. It's awesome🤩🤩
Feal Seal is amazing.
Great game. Deep classes and skills mechanics. Don't miss the Missions and Monsters DLC
It just came out, but I'm enjoying Persona 5 Tactica more than I did most of the games on this list.
Really??
This is too much game to try 😂 ill never have enough free time. Great list !
Hahaha. Same here 🤣🤣
Best list i ever seen
Grazieee
Great list. I know of and/or own most of these.
Awesome 👌
Timestamps would have been much appreciated
To be honest I don't know why it doesn't work because Timestamps are there as you cab see. 🤔
Fantastic list! Keep up the great work!
Grazieeee ❤️
what is the game in the first 0:00-0:05 seconds of the video?
Mercenaries Blaze: Dawn Of The Twin Dragons
'20 minute battles for on way to work'
Starts with divinity original sin 2
😮😅
hahahaha. You are absolutely right!!! hahahaha :)
Tactics Ogre Reborn and Disgaea 5 are gold standard imo. And for different reasons
Cool list!
Grazieee
Triangle strategy is a book
Can someone please tell the name of the game in thumbnail.
Indeed. It's Fell Seal
FE3H is pretty meh. At least you didn't include Engage which is worse. A game I'd recommend to check is Gloomhaven
Hello im interested in the dungeon of naheulbeuk the amulet of chaos but i heard there are a lot of problems on switch. Does anyone know if they patched up?
yeah same just got interest to buy it. what kind of problem? i'll take it as my consideration before buy.
Grand Guilds, and Persona 5 Tactica.
I miss ff tactics for ds. It was awesome. Wish we could get a switch version.
Honestly I hope for a new game in the series 😊👍

you missed 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim!
Indeed. Never played, but it looks awesome :)

wheres the time stamps lol
Don't know why it doesn't show up because it's inside the description. 🤔
No Brigandine ??
Gloomhaven.
Indeed. Great game
thanks. i thought dunjeon of nahulbrook isnt available on switch until now
Indeed and it's very fun and addictive. :)
divinity 2 is the best
Good list though I think Mercenaries Rebirth is better than Blaze.
Fire emblem three houses had some of the weaker maps in the series
Where is darkest dungeon ???!!!
All the games in this list happen on maps and players can move their characters around and not just left or right. Anyway DD is awesome of course
Tactics ogre is unarguably the best on this list. In regards to Balance and Performance.
I pretty much Played all of them. Cant recommend Divinity 2 for Switch. Its Runs horrible, loading Times are unbearable and crashed frequent
Well you clearly haven't played Fell Seal, which is the actual best.

@@Darkbreezeecouldnt say it any better other than the diverse class everything is forgetable in fell seal
Oh no, got excited for divinity, such a shame.
Hard agree. It's definitely the best on this list.
more gameplay and less game trailers please
Digimon survive
Never played it. Is it good?
Jrpg its not tactical rpg LMFAO ITS JAPANESE RPGS 😂

chapeaux...:)
I knew 90 minutes into the demo that TS wasn’t for me. It’s a long boring book with a really bad plot… with a tiny bit of game bolted on. No thanks.
@gitjiggybruh Which is absolutely fine. To an extent I liked it too, it's objectively a good game. Still it cannot be anything better than a disappointing for anyone that's still hoping for worthy FFT successor.
