For me $20.000 is still a lot of money for a new vehicle. That's where they were 20 years ago. But I'm old enough to remember when a new car was priced $2.000 to $4.000.
I came from a family of ford owners, I’m now 60, and I followed that until I bought my first KIA suv 4 years ago. This raising prices has got to end sometimes. Car manufacturers are pricing themselves out of business. Most people can't buy these new cars and trucks at these ridiculous prices. The Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri, was down from Jan. 25 through Feb. 1, affecting about 4,500 workers, Enoch said. "Production has resumed after being paused temporarily because of a supplier parts concern," she said. "We are vigilant about ensuring that the vehicles our customers receive are built with the quality they expect and we are taking appropriate actions to deliver on that commitment." Enoch declined to name the supplier or identify the vehicle part involved.

My 2017 250 diesel, CP4 fuel pump went at 30,00. Total disaster. My 2019 F150, coyote engine started using 3 quarts of oil every 3000 miles, with only 18,000 miles on it. Traded for a Titan. Worse backup camera, not as comfortable, but it's still running. You couldn't give me a ford truck now.
The problem is that 30+ year UAW retirees have incomes of $150-200k due to the union contract rules that only allow OT to the most senior employees first… and the retirement benefit is based on the TOTAL ANNUAL INCOME, not the base pay, of the last 5 years of pay..,!
Plus, The big 3 companies are designing their vehicles to fail early,
So that Parts/Service Income, which is the biggest component of Profit, is sustainable!
Lastly, don’t forget the massive bonuses of the upper managers…
DEI has been a success in USA. So glad I invested in foreign car company's.
They're not selling either.
I'll bet you blame DEI on your E.D.?
The most America made vehicle in the USA is a Honda Accord.
I have been buying only Ford trucks since 1998. But when they made the massive (in my opinion) mistake two summers ago when they dressed out the Raptor in a rainbow flag, I decided never to spend another penny on a Ford vehicle of any sort! My money will never be spent on a WOKE company!
The fact they don't offer a sedan anymore counts me out as a potential customer.
I don't care for all the electronic gizmo's. I just want a cheap new car with just the basics, no computer gadgets, that is built to last. Just an A to B car, i don't want to live in it.
Maverick trucks aren't worth more than 19k .. major price gouge
Can’t they figure it out it’s there dealers charging them market adjustments. And now people don’t trust the dealers
Americans want $10,000 cars and since that is doable, probably more so now than ever before
Ford Bronco sport , Maverick and mustang e 100% built in Mexico with Chinese parts . No thank you ,I'll buy a Honda made in the US .
GOOD! I've seen this myself all these new cars stacked up and jammed in isles. Same goes for other car company's their lots jammed up there brands not doing well at all.
Tax payers are having to subsidize the entire EV automobile disaster
Why not? We've been subsidizing the automobile and oil industries since Ronnie Raygun.
@ because the demand for EVs doesn’t exist. The government pushed automakers to build them and aren’t selling like the government anticipated. Taxpayers now have to pay for something they don’t want.
Maverick isn't what you can call a truck.
I could have bought a base trim Maverick last year for 26k so if the dealership is asking more than that then thats why they aren't selling.
I gotta say this i bought a used motorhome based on an E-450 with the v-10 gas engine it is awesome we drove it to Alaska and back this year 9300 miles it performed so well my cars are gm but that RV did the job and pulling a trailer.
I'll keep my 2007 and just drop a crate engine and transmission in it next year for 10K and rebuild the suspension to as new for 2500.00 , truck is well taken care of and still looks new just has over 250K miles on the powertrain and suspension .
A base Maverick for for $35,000 is exactly the problem. That thing isn't worth $20,000.
The changes ford made to the 2025 maverick is not good they just killed the Maverick unaffordable for average working folks most folks can't afford a vehicle that cost over 20 thousand dollars until they can build units that folks can afford sales will be very slow
Price way way to high
I could care less about any of these companies. All their vehicles are engineered junk.
We need vehicles priced no more than $25K, so the average Family can afford them!
Over price junk
I would rather buy a restored truck from the 60's/70's for 20,000 then pay 70/90,000 for a new one.
Used to be a Ford fanboy, what's in my garage today?? That's right, 2 Toyotas, and a 20 year old F150 that I'm afraid to drive for fear of what's gonna break next. Eco BURST, nope, Power Stroke, nope
1 guy in AZ has a f350 and the dealer refused to fix their AC not working in a brand new truck.
That's not a Ford problem, that's a dealership problem. None of this makes sense though because the dealership gets paid to do warranty work.
Make the 2009 - 2011 Ranger again and you'll be on top in no time.
They’re making the ranger again but the price has doubled and it only comes with a four cylinder engine
Leaders have no clue on what they are doing the demise of the company
Or Don't Care.
The excessive price for ice vehicles is to subsidise EV cars👍
I love my 2020 Ford F 150. I have been driving F 150s since 1979 and will not buy any other truck
Bought a 2023 Ford Edge in Mar 2023, out the door for $57000.00 minus trade-in, been a good car so far and is supposedly worth $53,000 now. Not underwater on my car loan yet. Canadian Prices.
Maybe it's time Ford started looking for new management? It seems Ford has lost its way, my Lincoln is ten years old and there are no replacements for it. I am very happy with this automobile yet to replace it I will have to purchase a foreign brand. You see Ford has lost its way!
Insanely high prices and crappy new tech. No thanks.
The problem is Floor Planning Interest! The longer a vehicle is on the lot the dealership has to pay interest on each unit. The more the dealership pays the more they have to pay to the bank.
Because I looked at a new maverick and they had a 10,000 over sticker price and they were asking 12,000 over sticker prices on f150
It’s not just Ford, I just saw a Chevrolet truck listed at $98,775.00 in Raleigh NC. And there were 3 of them on display in front of the showroom. I also saw a Toyota RAV4 listed on its sticker at $48,870.00 😮😮😮
They got greedy now can’t sell anything, don’t figure
Raise the price as high as you want doesnt mean u are going to sell them.
How much does the average auto worker make a year?
This is a world wide issue....greed at the top ...lead to cuts further down the line....corporations with leadership that didn;t lead...not surprised at all...lived long enough to have seen this happen many times....non union jobs mean lower wages...these companies will be coming back in a few years time with AI and robots in the factories with minimal humans....
And yet in Australia it's 8 months waiting list for 150
What are the prices ?
In canada they are asking 100,000 or more for most of their models. 165,000 for a new superduty? Nope. No one can afford that. 120,000 for a new expedition? Also no... get with it ford.
I bought a beautiful Ford F 150, 2008, used, with 111,000 miles. Its been bullit proof. I've put another 100,000 on it. Still solid. Price? 13,000.00. And you want to pay how much for a new, recall monster? Lol
I think this is not necessarily a brand issue but a new vehicle issue... younger consumers can't afford a new car and older consumers don't like all the unnecessary features and built in safety measures. All this adas equipment is not necessary and can annoy people who want to have control over their vehicle as apposed to the vehicle having control
Instead of making everybody work overtime then slashing prices due to over production they would be Better to just run a standard 40 hour work week and holding prices even though prices are crazy high
If they dropped prices to 35k on those 2023 150s they would sale.
Nobody drops bombshells. Sometimes the military will drop bombs but dropping a bombshell would be very stupid because it is nothing more than an empty can. Please stop using this very ridiculous term.
A supplier parts issue forced Ford Motor Co. to shut down production of the new 2024 Ford F-150 for more than five days at both factories that build the pickup, the Detroit Free Press confirmed Friday.
The Dearborn Truck Plant was down from Jan. 25 through Jan. 31, temporarily laying off about 5,200 UAW workers, Ford spokeswoman Jessica Enoch said.
The Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri, was down from Jan. 25 through Feb. 1, affecting about 4,500 workers, Enoch said.
"Production has resumed after being paused temporarily because of a supplier parts concern," she said. "We are vigilant about ensuring that the vehicles our customers receive are built with the quality they expect and we are taking appropriate actions to deliver on that commitment."
Enoch declined to name the supplier or identify the vehicle part involved.
Raise prices and rebates seem Larger!
Of what use is a large per unit profit wnen your overall sales are in the tank?
It’s because Ford is trying to charge people 60 $70,000 for a freaking truck! Bro, you could damn buy a house for that much!
F 150 junk, its was good then the incompetent engineers and farley screwed it up. Need the new engineers and farley gone.
I have been a ford guy since 1985. But I haven't nor will i buy a new ford car or truck. I have a 2004 ford f 250 and that's the last ford vehicle I've been able to afford.
In '82 I bought a new Datsun 280ZX for $15,000 and people thought I was nuts. How does anyone afford a new car today at these INSANE prices? I will pay $5,000 at the most for a used car. I just got a 2010 Mazda 3 hatchback, my favorite car as I've had one years ago. Funny how so much faster it is for a 4 cylinder than my 6 cylinder 280ZX which was a dog.
It’s all about profit. Hell with market share.
The prices are horrific. If they raise the prices they might as well shut their doors
Way too expensive now. Almost nobody can afford them now
They need to fix the problems and put them on sale.
Ford can't keep hiking the prices!
The last time Ford made a good truck under one ton was 1973. The maverick used to be a car.
