I started making candles years ago, I recommend a kit from bramble berry. I started with them and they will not do you wrong. If anyone is wondering what the white stuff on the candles it’s called frosting. Kind of cute ☺️ To try to prevent it you can, mix the wax slower, pour at a lower temp, heat the jars up before pouring, and placing the candles on wire cooling racks. Frosting will not affect the candle though it’s just cosmetic. The lazy easy way that I use is using a heat gun on the tops if I’m giving away the candles.

Yeah Mica and soy wax aren't good friends 😬 And candle-maker me was cringing when you took the rose out after only an hour and a half and not 2 full days haha but it came out kind of impressive!! 👏🏻
That's not true. Soy wax is vegan and cruelty free!!! Also there are vegan micas, cruelty free and biodegradable nowadays! Those are the ones I use for my soaps 🙂
@@miniidurao4843 hi, i know I've commented a bit under about that :-) I don't see where i said the opposite? @@miniidurao4843 Y'know, I'm not entirely convinced that soy wax is absolutely, 100% cruelty-free. Somethin' about the slaughtering of native tribes and the leveling of rainforests... Yeah, of all the ways to live cruelty-free, consuming soy products isn't high on my list. Same with agave, quinoa, palm oil, and other such health-nut foods/products that entitled rich people in 1st-world countries can't get enough of. A tad more research to find locally-sourced products is a better way to go than just following vegan trends online. Oh, by the way, mica has always been vegan; it's derived from rock. @@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 And if you would be really educated on this topic you would know that nearly ALL of the soy planted on the rainforest area is for feeding animals. So please educate yourself on this before making false statements and trying to prove others wrong with lies.
Chloe if you heat the pokey tool, you can push it through the rose candles and insert a wick, feeding it from the bottom up through to the top. If the wick seems a little loose at the bottom reheat the pokey tool and touch the wax around the metal plate of the wick to help set the plate into the wax. You just forgot the steps because you were filming, the micha is probably not the best color agent for making candles, usually the pigments are actually small chips of wax with really high amounts of color already added. On your multi color candles, it would be cool to add lavender to the purple color wax and eucalyptus to the green.

For the silicon mould you need mould release spray, and let it cure (sit) longer Good job for a first try! You'd really have fun with smaller moulds for making melts. Look for chocolates moulds. So much fun. You can also use those same moulds for the soap making or for making small bath bombs.
chloe, if you ever want to make candles again, one way to avoid those air bubbles is by spraying rubbing alcohol or witch hazel on your candles before you set them out to dry
Not sure if it works for candles (which it should) but in soap making, once you’ve poured, you can use 95-99% isopropyl alcohol and spray it onto the surface to pop those unsightly bubbles and it also prevents any soda ash
