Growing up in Chicago, Ryne Sandberg was my favorite player and that 83 Rookie card I still have to this day from when I was a kid.
My all time favorite rookie card is Derrick Thomas since he is my all time favorite player. I do miss watching him play. RIP DT.
Im a huge Cal Ripken Fan. Love the Ripken Rookie Card!
Stan the Man Musial's rookie in 1948. It was the first black and white card I saw a kid. I was shocked!
The Barry Bonds rookie card would really really cool to have
Cal Ripken Jr would be my favorite rookie card to have
My favorite rookie card is the 89 Topps Mark Grace. The original slumpbuster!
I found the Tony Gwynn going through my 1983s like five years later. Was so excited and ran around the house to show it off and my brother karate kicks a wrinkle right across Tony’s face on the inset. Have spent a ton on 1983 packs since and never pulled another Gwynn. Trade you some Sandberg/Boggs though. Favorite set all time. Clean crisp design.
Always been a Conseco Fan
Favorite Thurman Munson that's why I became a catcher..From Bronx but is a Mets fan but liked only Thurman Munson..
My favorite rookie card is Ken Griffey Jr 1990 topps
My favorite rookie card is a 1955 topps Roberto Clemente. One day I hope to have one.
My favorite player as a kid was Ryan Sandberg so very cool. Have his rookie as well.

Great video! That was fun to watch. 1986 Topps football would be sweet to open!
That's awesome! Any ideas on what you think it will grade at?
Griffey Upper Deck Rookie!⚾️
I'm going with Jim Thorpe's 1933 RC; one of the first, and an actual expression!
Underrated rookie card Thats my favorite: Joe Carter 1984 Rookie Card. Way before my time but I love it! Came from Instagram, just subbed
The boom happened between 1985 and 1986. The RCs that fueled the boom started with Dwight Gooden in 1985, Don Mattingly in 1986 and 1987 was a massive year with many guys like McGwire, Clemens, Eric Davis, Canseco and even a forgotten guy in Kevin Seitzer. I know many of those guys' RCs are actually earlier releases but the years listed are when those players started to get super-hot. It definitely wasn't the 90s. Ken Griffey Jr. was 1989 and he was hot on day 1 along with Gary Sheffield.
My favorite rookie card is Reggie Jackson's rookie card
My favorite rookie card of all time was Paul Molitor

Thats awesome you still have the one you pulled!
I know this is a three year old video but this applies to even then. The value of busting a fresh box for gradable singles is not just the HOFers and RCs. Any card, including commons with extremely low pop at PSA (like less than pop 5 for PSA 10...look out if you get a get the first PSA 10 on a former pop 0) will drive the set registry collectors to bust out their checkbooks and get ready for a duel to the death.
