The Nike Pegasus 35 Turbo running shoe is lightweight and fast, period. This, in my opinion, is going to be a great shoe for tempo runs, but not so much for the everyday run. Recovery runs are almost just as important as the long run or tempo run. The Nike Pegasus 35 TURBO is going to be a great RUNNING shoe, but not for the effort level I expected. I will now, most likely, be using this shoe for faster tempo runs, rather than an everyday trainer. Beyond excited for this running shoe to now be available for the running coming up, as I prepare for faster marathon attempts in 2019. The Nike Pegasus 35 Turbo is going to be a great running shoe for the everyday runner who is looking to increase speed during workouts, or even lace up with this shoe in a race setting.

QD: Which running shoe are you looking forward to being released in the next month?
Seth James DeMoor Saucony Kinvara 10! They got rid of the pro lock system and it looks super streamlined 👌
Im not 100% sure but I think nike is releasing a zoom x spike. I would love that for xc and track
hoping for a Pegasus Turbo Flyknit update!!!! -- and obviously new colorways. love my Pegasus Turbos
nike vomero 14 I think it's next month or the month after
Turbo - Thanks for the thorough review. I'm a newcomer to running so these are really helpful.
Raj, what inspired you to start running? Welcome to the running world.
@@SethJamesDeMoor The mental/physical strength to block out pain and fatigue that distance runners constantly deal with was inspirational once I understood it to some extent(met a few runners over the years and got into following the best marathon runners out there). I would definitely consider you in that class considering your level is amazing. I want to be a bit like that myself, while also improving at something physical at my own pace, so I decided to pick it up. Thank you so much for sharing what you know.
I just got the turbo 2 weeks ago and compared with my Acsis Kayano 26, I think this shoe is good for the interval training. I also do some sprint with this shoes, it felt good
Love the Turbos. Managed a six minutes PB at Chicago this year
Greetings from the UK - love your video!
Turbo - Great review and I agree with your initial impressions. The shoe felt more like a racing flat than a everyday run shoe. I'm new to running (about 4 months now) and I sent the Turbos back after 2 runs. If my Pegasus weren't so narrow in the toe box I wouldn't be looking for alternative shoes. I'm stuck between going to a wide or maybe a half size up. Tough decisions. I tried the Saucony Ride ISO which has a great toe box but little to no arch support so my knees hurt for days. Added insoles, knee pain went away but my foot began to hurt. Finding a pair of shoes is tough. The search continues!
Awesome comment and you are on a quest! Have you ever tried Hoka? Or perhaps the New Balance Fresh Foam line up?
I have not tried either the Hoka or the NB Fresh Foams. I was browsing the Hoka Clifton One's last night
i just bought my 2nd pair today. i love them
You rock Seth, loving your channel 👌😎
Welcome Emre! Thanks for being here.
Turbo, do you think that it is a durable shoe? And what surfaces would you recommend wearing the turbos for?
Man, those blue blue eyes! You are one good-looking Runner!
I love the pegusas so much !!
Best shoe I have ever had !!
I bought the black and white
Version. It looks good in
When I were casual clothes.
Awesome Phil! Can’t wait for my next pair. Thanks for leaving a comment
The matumbo 3 is a track spike. Great for the 1600 all the way up to a 10k on the track. I’ve even seen people run Xc in them.
i tried to force myself using Clifton’s that i got the last 2 versions of that shoe but my foot still hurts on long runs...but these Turbo’s they were so good for me that not only my splits were faster but even my recovery feels faster...and i have mild pronation at that too...guess it depends on the runner
same. I ran in Hokas for a year with stability (gaviotas) but after I switched to the nike zoomfly's (neutral shoe) my shins hurt less and I run faster. Weird considering that I also pronate.
Turbo Qd: I don't run but, I sure would love to find those Aigner tennis shoes I use to have. Maybe one of your subscribers knows where I can find a pair. Michael is really growing. God bless.
I hope someone else knows the shoe you are talking about.
I definitely agree with you that this is a fast shoe. I recently got the 35 turbo because I wanted to experience the mix of the 2 foams myself and i really noticed my “easy” runs did get a little faster and also did a fartlek with them and felt this is more of a speed workout shoe tempo, intervals, fartlek etc.
Nice Pablo, I'm glad that I'm not the only person noticing the speed of this shoe.
Im a primitive on running, start run a few weeks now with a cheap kalenji Ekiden one +, and I would like to have spmething better. Recently I look this shoes and also the the normal pegasus 35. Honestly what you recommend? Thanks and keep up the good work.
I absolutely love the peg turbo. It makes your cadence faster as the shape of the shoe forces you to shorten your stride while the cushion gives you that bounce. I find it quite different to the zoom fly FK and vapor fly FK (both which i own) as both of these shoes "lifts" your leg up and pushes you forward with the carbon plate. I'm fortunate enough to have a decent rotation of zoom flys for long runs, peg turbos for tempo/long runs, and vaporflys for race day. I would second other comments on doing a review for the zoom fly FK - would love to hear what you think and it would be a good addition to your running rotation for your fast marathon!
Thanks for the great comment. I will do my best to get my hands on a pair of these guys. Could you spell out the full name of the shoe that you'd like me to look into?
@@SethJamesDeMoor zoomfly fk is the zoomfly flyknit, looking forward for the review!
Makes you shorten your stride? What do you mean? Others?
Came across your channel, thought it was good. And left a sub. :')
I want a pair of Ride ISO GTX's, I've been riding the nike hype train for a bit now and would like to get back to the perfect winter running shoe.
Nice Brad, maybe the Nike Structure Shield would be a good option for you?
A couple of things... First, about your plantar fasciitis: having been down this (long) road myself more than once, and having helped many patients with PF over the years, what I'd suggest is to back off the aggressive stretching and instead focus on strengthening the muscles that run through the arch of your foot. My first bout with PF lasted for 2 years before I figured this out, and the strengthening exercises cleared it up in two weeks. Seriously. My second bout responded very well to shockwave therapy, but it hurts like hell... As for running shoes, I have so many! My main ones for training are HOKA's and Salomon's, but I'm seriously looking at picking up a pair of of the 35 Turbos. At 62, I'm almost twice your age, so I like the feel of a bit of extra cushion. I used the HOKA trail shoes on the TMB last year for their cushioning, but to be honest, their road shoes haven't worked for me. My focus now are the parkrun 5K's (19:03 a couple of months ago), so I'm looking for a light, fast tempo shoe that will hold up to training. Hopefully, the 35 Turbo is the ticket...
I just picked them up, haven’t ran in Nike’s since high school 😱 Salomon /Altra /Hoka type of mix currently, let’s see how this plays out 🤔😉
You look like Judge Dredd 😬
Iadmire the way you review shoes, its different from the others but also bery detailed.
So I subscribed.
PS
What shoes do you recomment for a casual runner like me. Maybe an everyday shoe with high durability that I can use on my work, travel, etc, an all rounder shoe.
I just got this shoe yesterday and am excited to get some runs in it.
Sweet! Let me know how it goes!
quick question, are you currently doing speedwork? its interesting to me that you ran a 15:37 (regardless at sea level, would still probably sub 16 in denver) but your regular runs are in the are around 7:30 pace (for 16 miles). For me right now I'm hovering around mid-high 16's for a 5k, but yesterday on my long run i ran 18 miles at 6:40 pace, which was medium effort or so. I'm still building a large base but what, if any, kind of speed work are you doing? Also I live very close to you, so maybe we could meet up and run sometime, i live over in edgewater.
Great Review !
Thanks Aden, onward!
Nike zoom Vomero 14 - been in 12s and 13s for the daily driver for the past year. Excited to get the react along with full length zoom upgrade.
Nice Stuart! I’ve never worn the Vomero, hows the ride compared to the Pegasus?
The Vomero has more cushion than the Pegasus. It's a good chill, long run and easy run shoe. It still has a 10mm drop but in my opinion it doesn't feel as high as the Peg (maybe because of the extra cushioning). The Vomeros are pretty cheap right now so not a bad time to try it out.
I never ran in the turbo and im not a super good runner. I have the peg35 and i really like em. They feel mory comfy tham my Legend react and i feel like i can run a little farther in them but slower. i feel like i can feel the zoom airbag in my right shoe in the peg35s
So Turbo not good for people with planter fasciitis? Thanks!
First like and comment love your channel
It'll be interesting to see if your perception changes after a few more runs. I initially thought I'd be using the Peg Turbo for tempo and speedwork, but (to me) they're so dang comfortable that I use them for everything. For longer, slower days, you may want to check out the New Balance Beacon or the re-release of the original Hoka Clifton 1.
Exactly! I've got my eye on the Beacon and the Clifton....do you know when the Clifton 1 will be released?
@@SethJamesDeMoor it's available now, it landed just a few days ago.
The 35 Turbo fit VERY constrictive in the forefoot on me, even when the length was right. I've heard a lot of negative about the 35 Turbo in the FB group Running Shoe Geeks as well. Glad I skipped it.
Luckily I have a friend that works at Nike and I copped these for $108. It definitely is a fast shoe. Even when I hold back for easy runs, I end up with a fast average mile at the end of the run. I ran in these for a 5K road race as well and it felt great. It looks to me that they feel better when you run faster speeds rather than using them for slow recovery runs (I use them everyday for any type of run).
Good afternoon, very good your video, a doubt these Nike would serve for normal use or just to run. Thank you
I would just use them for running and most especially faster running for workouts or races. Thanks for the comment
Can you please do a review about the sort of new zoom fly flyknit, please? I am making a decision between the zoom fly flyknits and the turbo. Good video once again! I had watched all your videos for running since yesterday keep it up!
THANKS Lee! I'll do my best, stay tuned, more running videos coming up.
I have a pair of these and at 45 am new to running. I'm running 5km parkruns every Saturday (for the last 11 weeks) and not yet broken 30 mins. Ok so very slow! I like my turbo's for the cushioning and weight difference over my brooks adrenaline GTS. Faster for a Saturday when trying to set a new pb, not as good as the brooks for midweek runs...
Welcome to the running world! What inspired you to start running?
I loved the look of the Pegasus 34 and from what I heart of the them, they were a brilliant, doing anything go anywhere shoe. Which made me want to buy the 35s. But with the two models, Nike Zoom and Nike Zoom X models. The all roundedness of the shoe has been lost I feel. Is there much of a difference between the Vaporfly and the Pegasus Turbo now? And the price, to me, is almost offensive! However now, Ive turned into a New Balance zombie. Owning the 1080v8 (which whilst comfortable is rather heavy and clunky in my opinion), the Zante V3 and V4 (Took awhile to enjoy the V3, I was ready to bin them and run in the V4 but suddenly they just worked beautifully. So have a good 200 miles before they retired and I go to the V4). New Balance Beacon, I love this shoe, a lot like the 1080 being very comfortable, but being light and quite nimble to wear, my good to shoe(not convinced on its longevity though). Fresh Foam Gobi V2(previous own the V1). Love this shoe for lightest trails, light and quick a very good all round shoe in my opinion. Looking to get the Fresh Foam Kaymin as a light version of the 1080v8 and the Lazr NXT as it seems like a light fast shoe(if they exist in your market). Sorry for being an advert for New Balance there. Previously own Adidas Ultra Boost, but they were just so heavy might as we had weights on my feet!!! Love the energy you put into your channel, keep it up!!!
Geeeezzzzzz Kevin, what an incredible comment, so much great experience and info here. I’m VERY interested in the New Balance Beacon, high on priority list! You love it!?!?
Apologies for lack of understanding of the English language in the post above. When I type, grammar and plain old English go out the window. I think the general consensus with the New Balance Beacon is they are similar the Nike Epic React(Maybe), just not at an eye watering price. I REALLY like them, but that is me, so I can't say they are the Bee's Knee's. (If Bee's have knees). I just love their light way (213grams 7.5oz in old money) and the amount of cushioning with them. Im not 100% sure how long they will last due to the "naked" out soul., but pretty decent for Road/Evil Treadmill.
What’s a 10/10 shoe for you?
Turbo lol have you tried running in an ultraboost adidas shoe yet? Will not be disappointed as far as casual any way makes my feet feel so fresh specially when I do a lot of walking for sure. But I’m not a runner so would be interested in your opinion for sure. Also great family brotha your wife can cook huh lol I got a wife and three boys so may God bless you and your family great vid keep going.
Thanks Eli for the comment 👍🏻
I'm looking forward to the new Brooks Launch! They are great on the roads and on Minnesota trails!
Brooks is another show that I’ve never tried, someday! You exclusively a Brooks guy?
Lately I’ve been in brooks, but I’ve run in a lot of different brands. My favorites right now are probably the launch, Clifton, brooks caldera for trails, and adidas adios boost for road racing.
Nice Ryan! That's a great line up. And you mentioned that you are from MN? The trails are nice out there!
I think you have the right idea with multiple shoes specific to purpose. Gotta have a bunch of different arrows in the quiver! What's your go-to shoe for when the PF flares up?? QD - Hoka RE-releases Clifton1, I'm all over some of that action.
Is it already out, the Clifton 1....? Or....?
PF usually feels good in the Stinson, and Salomon Ultra....not sure yet on the Nike front as to which shoe I'll be trying next.
Clifton is currently on version 5, but they've been getting heavier and heavier since v1. The 1s have a bit of a cult following so Hoka is "re-releasing" v1s online only.
I see...hmmmmm..... was my first 'ultra' shoe
You’ve got a lot of speed. Half marathon/ marathon sounds really good
Trying!
As much as I like my turbo's I kinda have a bottoming out problem with the forefoot. And I'm helluva light runner.
The thick insole was bottoming out and it felt very strange so I replaced it with an old insole (thinner) I had from free rn flyknit.
Now I still have the "problem" that after 10 miles or so I kind of bottom out the forefoot and it fells like in front of my toes is a piece in the shoe that is in the way. As if I push down the midsole for some mm and therefore the shoe feels shorter as if there is a piece of lego in the front
Fascinating, I like your inegenuity! I'll be running in them again tomorrow and keep you posted of course.
It's complicated to describe :)
The first time it happend (2nd or 3rd run) I felt like something was stuck under the forefoot like a sticky mud block. But there was nothing. At home after I took of the shoes everything looked and felt normal. After it happened again I noticed the thick soft soles and changed them. Now it's better and I just have this feeling a little bit...
I used to work at the Eastbay call center while I was in college. Basically we serviced the Eastbay shoes catalog, footlocker.com and NFL Shop. The world of shoes is fascinating and I’d love when deferent reps for shoe companies would come in and educate us about the shoes. Now I’ve got you, Seth!
: ) Oh man, what an interesting turn we've all experienced here on this channel....just riding the wave and keeping balance when able.
Seth James DeMoor you might like the latest video of The Ear Biscuits podcast with Rhett and Link as they do some interesting analysis of RUclipsrs - Do RUclipsrs Watch RUclips. Could be enlightening.
You should do a comparison of the Nike Zoom Fly vs. the Nike Zoom Fly Flyknit and see if the Flyknit’s are worth the extra money or they’re nothing but hype and see if just the Zoom Fly’s are better or not.
I have run through two pairs of Zoom Flys and have 74 miles though my first pair of Zoom Fly Flyknit. I like the Flyknit better, much better. The energy return seems much greater (carbon plate probably) and the cushioning seems better too. It is absolutely more comfortable to me as well.
@@ljaywilson I've heard the ankle is a huge problem for people... how is the support/feel holding up for u with them!?
Temp Temp the only ankle issue I’ve had with them is that they both will rub the skin off with a zero length sock. I’ve gone 16 in the Flyknits and ankle felt great.
I know what you mean re. it being a fast shoe but I've also found it great for recovery runs - stick with it. You'll notice after a hard weeks running in them that you're legs still feel fresh.
Alright, I'll keep trying! Thanks for the encouragement, taking them out for a tempo workout tomorrow.
Hey Seth, you might already know how to best deal with plantar fasciitis but if not.. i've been dealing with it in my right foot since late May and it wasn't until a week ago when I started getting massages that I noticed actual long lasting relief. Having someone do some deep tissue work with the foot will work wonders. The socks, rolling, icing, etc will all help a bit but the relief typically is short-lived with those methods. Have someone get in there pretty aggressively as regularly as you can and it'll clear up even as you continue to run.
You rock Christopher, thank you!!! Where is your highest point of pain? On your heel, or arch, or...?
it's inside of the heel/mid-foot for me.
I had PF really bad for about 10 months in 2016. I tried physical therapy, medication, rest, and active release. Nothing seemed to work. I wished I had stopped running at the first signs of it and gotten the PT. Eventually I had x-rays and ended up electing to having surgery. The way it was explained to my by the podiatrist was that the repeated injury to the PF tendons causes a build up of scar tissue, which leads to inflexibility in the tendons. Every time you run those tendons pull on and away from the calcaneus bone which creates the pain. Once it gets this bad you limit your options to fix the problem. After the surgery, a month latter and I was back to running.
John Knowles Yes yes. Oh boy. 😬
How do you like the turbo with the PF?
Is it still 6/10 ? I started to get left arch pain with this shoe on 22km run. Something I am sure 100% sure about this shoe !! Did you make a wrong decision in buying this ?
Loving the Turbos at this point and the pain is gone for me. Using the Turbo for long tempo runs.
the shields aren’t the same as the pegasus turbo, they’re the same as the normal pegasus 35, just with the updated upper

Hello great review! I’ve bought the Pegasus 35 Turbo and after a 10 miles I got a really bad plantar fasciitis. I needed to be off for two weeks and the I slowly went back running. But after one month I still fell my left painful. I just can’t use this shoe.
Seth would you recommend these for cross country, I do cross country and I am looking for a new shoe that is good for both trail and regular concrete being that my races tend to vary between the two, thank you if you help
Alberto, great question. The Pegasus Turbo would be a good cross country shoe, but may not be the lightest option. It's definitely fast, but not as fast as a cross country spike. However, if you're running partially on concrete or asphalt for some of your races, it would then become a great option. I found out just today that the Pegasus Turbo is not great on gravel dirt, but would be good on packed dirt or dirt on a trail through a forest. I was slipping a little bit over the gravel today. What year are you in school? Are you in cross country right now?
Seth James DeMoor currently I am in my second year in high school and I am still doing cross country
I think it’s a great option then, and you can use it for regular training as well after the season to get ready for track! I bet it would last you through the winter depending on your weekly mileage, does that make sense?
Seth James DeMoor Yes it does make sense I appreciate your help very much and these type of videos in my opinion are awesome
Thanks Alberto, let your teammates know about the channel and content, I bet they would enjoy it too! Have a great rest of your season.

It’s not a shoe but it’s a spike. I am really looking forward to the new matumbo 3 color way, and the matumbo 3 interchangeable spikes finally coming out.
What kind of shoe is that?
I don’t this is the same shoe as the Pegasus 35 shield. Is it?
The Shield has a more water resistant upper.
Seth James DeMoor ahhhhh, gotcha! Thanks
Yeah a Pegasus Turbo Shield would be awesome! 🙃
Turbo. What is a tempo shoe?
I like the original Pegasus 35s better. Have you tried them Seth?
For everyday training and even tempos, the normal 35s are great. Wouldn't use them in a race as other shoes feel faster but the original Pegs are great for anything but racing, even for non-technical trails.
Nice Sylvain, I’m thinking the 35s will be on the radar for me down the road.

If I can get turbo for $130 and pegasus 35 for $100 (black) which should I get?. I have a lot of shoes but I want to designate one for running. Need to run now for medical reasons (leg circulation n not over weight)..I always like to buy good quality when I start something new.
