@@gingercashman3289 HAHA! It takes a lot of focus and timing! But thank you so much! They do such a great job on camera it’s my duty to make it great off camera!
I just finished watching! Kathy, thank you for sharing your amazing wonderland of specimens! You truly have a beautiful collection! I'm very impressed!!!
Thank you Kathy, Bruce and Justin for bringing us this conifer tour which we would never be able to see without your video. I added several conifers this year cause I noticed in winter it was too blah.
Thank you to you and especially Kathy for sharing her beautiful garden with us. I would have liked to hear more from her and how she has been so successful in her garden.
Really? I feel the opposite. He’s always trying to lead away, even while Kathy was trying to still say something about a conifer and Justin payed attention. I really don’t enjoy him. Justin has a nursery and I am sure he could have added a bunch of information about conifers but I feel like he had no chance and just was a by stander here
Just seeing this. Kathy’s yard is incredible. TY for sharing with us. I’m off to add a few more conifers to my yard. Please do another video where she explains how she gets such great results. Fertilizer schedule, maintenance, etc.
Wow! What an outstanding garden! And Kathy is such a lovely, knowledgeable woman. I'd love to see a video (or several) of just her walking through the garden telling us the stories of all her plants. Thank you, Kathy. You're an inspiration!
Many many thanks to Kathy for allowing y’all to film a tour of her amazing collection. I still get so excited whenever I see you and Bruce giving a tour! I watch the ones from his home on repeat. And Justin, you and Bruce can rest assured you made me become a plant person! You gave me the confidence to grab what you showed that I loved (what I could find. Unfortunately I live in Memphis)! Since I discovered your you tube videos last year I’ve collected 82 plants, some littles, some gallons. Unfortunately I just found someone who could come out to prep the beds, I’m 64, and it is hot as the dickens even after 6:00. Wish me luck getting this stuff in the ground before it dies! Thanks so much for your inspiration!!! Mary B
OMG i just couldn't stop really grinning and being so full of joy watching this entire video of hard earned beauty..and yalls great conversation of love and information was better than a bed time story read by grampa on Christmas eve!!! Woweee..love this lady and her fun enthusiasm of wisdom and deep knowledge..I love conifers.. I am in Dallas tx 8b and my conifers really endure our summers better than 95% of my native perennials!!! Keep on ....and thank you for sharing her garden and your love of gardening
Absolutely loved seeing Bruce and Kathy…….. Great video with my garden 🥷 Ninja!!!! Fabulous video tour!!!!! Wow oh wow what a destination called home!!!! Love love love ❤️
Oh my goodness you all had me laughing like a little kid I just love what I'm seeing. Every time you guys get together and make a video it feels like a gift. Thank you ❤😂
Beautiful. I have gotten much more into evergreens lately in my garden. They keep the yard vibrant during the winter up here on Long Island. Soon as I saw that weeping tree at the opening of the video I knew this lady meant business! And it just kept going and going. Amazing work. I'm jealous.
Love this so much I watched it twice and took a ton of pictures when names were posted. Justin & Bruce are the Dynamic Duo of Conifers! It was fun to see your reactions around every corner. To Kathy, Thank You so much for opening up your garden to inspire all of us! Can’t wait to see the fall colors! Nice work, Alex! 👏
We will be for sure. We were told you were off and Happy Anniversary! I’ll Be sending you an email with some Pictures maybe help us design around our new pool! Al said you could help! Thanks
I love tours of growers like these. Their enthusiasm can be easily felt through the video. I enjoyed this tour even though I don't love conifers. Thank you for sharing!
I really appreciate these tour videos. I learn so much and love seeing conifers further along and in real garden situations. I'm in Kentucky so not quite as strong of southern conditions but definitely relatable.
12:34 Kathy mentioned that she had to root wash the trunk to find the root flare. Justin, you need to do a video highlighting this. I’m sure a lot of people wonder why their tree is struggling, they’ve been planted too deep. I hope Kathy has mapped out her garden to identify each specimen. Bruce, how many new specimens have you purchased since this visit? We’re going to need another tour of your garden!
Kathy's skill, passion and collections are treats and treasures. The reactions of Bruce and Justine show their deep passion for conifers and I'm loving it. Keep doing great things and videos with that passion. The one holding the camera Alex is also surely a conifer lover like them.
Justin, your content is great.. Love the variety and examples.. I'm in CT 6b originally from NC 8a. I'm on a quest to bring more unique and familiar specimens to our home in CT especially Crape Myrtle. Also thank Kathy for the walking tour, she is an encyclopedia of information. I couldn't remember everything on our property. BTW. that HUGE Whirlgig rainbow spinner in this video. It took me 2hrs but I tracked down the company Whirlgig World , sadly no longer in business, it was also sold on QVC in 2014.
This video is certainly one that I will watch many times, just as I did the one at Bruce’s collection of conifers. I am in zone 5 b and contend with clay soil too. Will someone explain why one of your conifers gets afflicted with bagworm, and those around it do not? This April- mid June, we had the largest infestation of Spongy Moth caterpillars I have ever witnessed, which stripped our forest of Oaks, they destroyed the needles of all our 60+ foot tall White Pines, denuded my large weeping Larch, next went after all the different blue spruces, the contorted fir, and many of the Japanese cut leaf maples. They literally would be covering the walls of our house, and I would come inside at the end of a day with caterpillars climbing on me! I hope that my much loved conifers can come back from this “ plague”. Though you are in North Carolina, I still learn so much from your videos about conifers and go on to do my own research for my area. We have no nursery near me that sells anything but the most common conifers. Again, great video. Kathy your self taught knowledge and willingness to try plants, is so admired.
You've curated a once-in-a-lifetime garden tour, showcasing an unforgettable collection of conifers that inspire awe and admiration. Your passion for beauty and nature shines through every corner, making it a journey worth cherishing. And im am floating village life.
Wow!!! Thanks for sharing her amazing garden. I could watch y’all all day. These videos are the best. I’m becoming a “plant person” and have learned so much ❤
Oh my goodness! I love her. This was a great viewing and learning opportunity. I am about 3 years from retirement and I want to be Kathy. I have a few pines… Occulus Draconis and Globe Blue Spruce Standard are my oldest at 10 yrs and 15yrs. They will be moving with me next year 😊 I’d love to know what profession Kathy retired from.
Ok….i thought that was Bruce in the thumbnail…but then I looked in the description and it said Kathy…I was so excited to see that Bruce is in this video! He’s my favorite!!!!!
Wow! Love her gardens! The shady areas are so magical under the large tree canopies! And all those beautiful and huge evergreen trees! I’m so jealous! Thanks for the awesome tour!!!🌲🌳🌸
I love conifers and I love collecting pine cones. There’s a rest area in Louisiana that has the biggest pine cones I’ve ever seen. I collect as many as I can when I travel particularly when I pass thru LA!! Some of the pine cones from Colorado are so tightly woven and gorgeous! Thanks for sharing! I love the guests on your tours!
boy i tell ya what, i just planted abunch of 15gal conifer trees for a privacy fence, and these conifers sure do look fancy. Ok so edit: After 8:52, i spent sooo much money for the soil and additives for each tree im thankful i did, because im seeing new growth and everything is peachy :)
Don’t laugh but I have a degree in business management. Have always loved plants and reading about the adventures of the early plant explorers. Had a greenhouse and sold plants for a year or two. Worked and volunteered at a botanical garden for a year or so. Basically I’m just a plant nerd.
Nice video! I always deeply prepare my soil, for the most part it's good stuff, though I turn it over deeply that everything I plant has a free root run that gives excellent results with both the shrubs and perennials. Oh, where those 'Unraveled' boxwood are situated is a prime spot for some much nicer specimens, I'd rip those out, lol.
Thank you All! This was an absolute pleasure to film! You guys are amazing! ❤
Great job Alex! I don't know how you could keep up with the demands of Justin and Bruce. So much Enthusiasm. Like kids in a candy store. Love it.
