bei passive it's a cognate to english by. ba separable verb structure; german also does this. German or Estonian grammar is closest to Chinese of European languages (Estonian is a Finno-Ugric language not Indo European).
I love your channel, your linguistic and analytic approach is just what I need for understanding the language better! I think you deserve so many more viewers, I'm gonna recommend you to all my Chinese-learning friends!! :))
Thank you so much for this video! In Portuguese, we also omit a lot of stuff but then we understand it because of the context so it is nice to see similarities!
Cant wait for a video on the verb + complement topic!! You explain so well and the illustrations are amazing. Its truly a blessing to have found your channel
I'm from the UK, and have started to learn Mandarin ! Complex language ! And I'm not good at learning languages but would like to live in China one day
Some parts are complex--- writing!! tones (partly) while, others are simple--- word order in general. verb modes, verb tenses, verb aspects, etc Suggestion To find book.and online reference grammars to compare forms like word phrase clause orders
To also.compare contents. like word meanings between Chinese and English in 4 possibilities where both are 1) ID 2) similar 3) opposite 4) different-- Immersion techniques you, Probably know--- šo many-- Polyglots Conference, individual teachers of Chinese etc languages To fond websites and books, on Chinese language. past. and present To learn, about Chinese culture underlying principles, slike yin and yang, 5 elements, directions, flavors, colors, etc. These, also influence language in some ways. Hope that these, help. Zhu, ni, hao yunqi!!! Jia. you!!
I appreciate the time and effort in explaining proper grammar. I've seen some other videos and they confuse me when they break down sentence structure. THANK YOU!
Hey, Grace, I was watching your class and then I started to wonder how good it would be if you made a video about writing Chinese characters, but in the cursive way, like the fonts you are using to write the example. They are so beautiful. I really think it would be a great topic!
Thank you, that was very helpful. The sentence structure gives me difficulties in longer sentences. I've only been learning Chinese for four weeks, so I'm hoping I can get the problem under control.
Thanks! This Explanation helps me a lot. 💕 the font is a bit fancy which is good but maybe I just prefer a standard one cause its much clearer. looking forward for more videos in this channel. 🙂💕
By studying Chinese I learn new ways to explain English. How do I explain the sentence "He wiped the table clean"? I say "Clean is a resultative compliment of the verb wipe." How do I explain "A bought a bunch of grapes"? I say "bunch of" is a measure word for grapes. Easy peasy.
Watched !. I am watching video by video I have already watched other but I decided to start over the first one. Leaving a comment for each video I watch
The third concept you talked about is one great difference from Western cultures (generally speaking), the focus on the element/subject (Western) and the holistic focus (Eastern). Great Grace!
I've always enjoyed your attractive videos which I'm so thankful for. Hope more and more people follow your channel. By the way, could you make a video to show us how the way native speakers write words in daily?
Thanks for the video. I'm learning Chinese and subscribed to your channel in hopes it will help me. Your English is very good how long did it take for you to learn it?
Thank you laoshi ♥️ I have a question. For 0 level beginners like me, what is the likable method to start with? I'm sorry, I'm very confused. 😅 Thank you for your response. 💙
Laoshi grace,my other laoshis say that if I delete the svo order is not appropriate,so I'm guessing that it's probly a higher step to proper chinese such as english because some laoshis explain like u?can u clarify that for me.xiexe lashi grace...🙏👍😇
Hello this is Tad from Japan. I noticed that the position of 了 was different depending on the sentences. 我吃晚餐了 and 他吃了苹果. Is it possible to say 我吃了晚餐 and 他吃苹果了??
My Chinese teacher has since explained to me that although " "S + 被 + O + V“ is correct from a Western Grammar viewpoint the Subject is seen differently from a Chinese viewpoint so "O + 被 + S + V“ is correct from that viewpoint. Thanks again for the video the structures shown are very useful.
Stuart Reed Thank you! I didn’t know from Western grammar point of view “S+被+O+V” is correct. Because the way we explain Subjects is considering them as the action doers. Thanks for letting me know :D
hey, it is not beginners, I am beginner, but I do not understand it, it is difficul structure. There are full of examples for explain! I love you, so it is friendly criticism...
Had ppl learn the sentence structures u explained, wont they be thinking english while using chinese? I mean most native ppl dont learn chinese this way (inc native chinese teacher). Can ppl really reach advanced fluence with these seemly easy-to-understand gramma oriented approach?
understood almost nothing and that perfectly!the order is to important。meaning is easy to transfer?!but nobody understands it。😭😭😭 svo is to easy, not to practical and not often used in daily conversations!in general to fast!have to watch this at minimum 10 times i believe!just honest opinions。meaning of what?the writing is in my way(subtitles)。bu zén but rén?even if i almost can read the sentence, but i almost always understands it wrong and dont get the meaning after multiple trys!
here is what i can't understand: the original chinese was not like that, right? do chinese use words like "wo'men" because that was the original "we", or the current "we" was simply derived and constructed from respective kanjis?
Hope you enjoy today’s video!
If you have any suggestion or any idea that you want me to talk about, please leave a comment below :)

"Chinese sentences have SVO order except when they don't."
Kind of like English with our VSO questions
yeah, ignore SVO
Like Grace says Chinese is a topic prominent i.e. topic comment aka left branching language.
A sentence Chinese has got
S+time/place/manner +V+O words order.
not like that

Beautiful!
4:50 I laugh at this part :D
你好可爱!
As a Cantonese speaker, I have very Cantonese-influenced Mandarin grammar.
It’s pretty funny honestly when I say 打电话给你 instead of 给你打电话.
Very helpful
please make a video of how to read chinese fast and style of reading chinese.
Nija Tolange Thank you for the suggestion!
thanks🙂🙂🙂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻
Mandarin appears to be such an efficient language.
Thanks for the video. I'm learning Chinese and subscribed to your channel in hopes it will help me. Your English is very good how long did it take for you to learn it?
Is so funny. So cute XD. 4:50 Thanks for the hack.
Thank you laoshi ♥️

Learning chinese🙂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
5:10 用agent, theme來解釋會比較好,因為畢竟主詞還是蘋果(個人淺見
Is there any difference in structure when using 就 and using 然後 ?
amazing...
Great
感谢
Is it possible to get a copy of the handout for this lesson?
Now i understand why some new chinese people in the Philippines speak our language in a certain way.. like broken grammar, mostly no helping verbs
出片速度也太快
期待下一部
下一部再等幾天!
why do you say che zi and not just che? 6:22
Yes, but Chinese people like to put zi after nouns!for example juejuezi
@@知-k3qexcept for when they randomly decide not to put it there

Hello this is Tad from Japan. I noticed that the position of 了 was different depending on the sentences. 我吃晚餐了 and 他吃了苹果. Is it possible to say 我吃了晚餐 and 他吃苹果了??
我吃过晚餐了
我吃了晚餐
过 make eat this action as a main thing what I want to say.
Hi, Thanks I enjoyed your video. I don't think the "O + 被 + S + V“ is right as this is a passive sentence so the Apple is the subject.

Hello xiaojie xiexie ni. I like you very much. I always watch you video and listen you Chinese. I really love you thank you my love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
建議可以上個中文字幕會比較好
漢 因為主要是給外國人學中文的 所以才沒上中文字幕😂
Wow ai ni 🇵🇭
Pls use better text format and size, colors , bcz they are the primary content.. Thanks.. Hope u agree and do needful
Thank You. Спасибо。(ツ)
If only the word order was the same as English I would get this in a day but this is so difficult to understand
hey, it is not beginners, I am beginner, but I do not understand it, it is difficul structure. There are full of examples for explain! I love you, so it is friendly criticism...
I was confused, now I’m extremely confused after watching this
Had ppl learn the sentence structures u explained, wont they be thinking english while using chinese? I mean most native ppl dont learn chinese this way (inc native chinese teacher). Can ppl really reach advanced fluence with these seemly easy-to-understand gramma oriented approach?
Chinese grammar is somewhat similar to Indonesian and Malaysian
中文語法有點像「印尼文」和「馬來文」一樣。
为什么你真的可爱
Is my sentence right? 😀
You can say "为什么你那么可爱“ or "你真的很可爱“ :)
真的 always follow the first word which as noun.
In First sentence is a mistake!
"nà ge zen" is in Pinyin written, but it should be "nà ge rén" 那个人
Na guo ning haha😆
鱼吃了吗?Have you eaten the fish? or Have you fed the fish in the aquarium?
Grace, if you freeze the vid at 1:25 mins am I correct in saying that the 'zén' should be 'rén'?
understood almost nothing and that perfectly!the order is to important。meaning is easy to transfer?!but nobody understands it。😭😭😭 svo is to easy, not to practical and not often used in daily conversations!in general to fast!have to watch this at minimum 10 times i believe!just honest opinions。meaning of what?the writing is in my way(subtitles)。bu zén but rén?even if i almost can read the sentence, but i almost always understands it wrong and dont get the meaning after multiple trys!
❤️❤️❤️
Some of your characters you used are traditional characters? Why didn't you use simplified characters?
Because in Taiwan they use traditional characters.
here is what i can't understand: the original chinese was not like that, right? do chinese use words like "wo'men" because that was the original "we", or the current "we" was simply derived and constructed from respective kanjis?
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
that apple has not been eaten. ta zai ba pingguo dao ziji de kou chi, hai meiyou chi wan.
Grace is cute all the time.
Thank you :)

Hi grace what's up?
You are beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow! You really have beautiful complexion. I fall in love with your eyes and the way your lips move.
Thanks for the video, Teacher.
一定会来中国寻找像你这样的合作伙伴。
Without a strong working knowledge of vocabulary since so many characters get strung together, how can any structure possibly be understandable?
